This venue has it all!! This is such a dreamy and romantic setting and couldn’t imagine getting married anywhere else
They were fantastic with the venue and the wedding planning services- it was technically only a day of planner but Lorin went above and beyond to take care of everything from about...
a year before the wedding. The setting was gorgeous and we didn’t run into a single problem with lights or decor or anything. There was miscommunication about them entering the bridal cottage when we weren’t in there... but it was taken care of at the end. All in all it was a gorgeous wedding, everything was planned to the specific minute and we were so happy with how everything turned out.
I cannot say enough wonderful things about this venue! We just got married there in October and couldn't have been more pleased with the space. The grounds are well-kept, lush and ...
overlook a gorgeous vineyard - far better views than some of the pricier wineries in the region (in my opinion).
This venue is rustic, comfortable and by far the most beautiful we came across in the Sonoma County region - especially for the price. We loved that if you aren't into a ton of decor, the venue is so beautiful on it's own, you need very little to dress it up.
It's country chic at it's finest and I would recommend it in a heart beat.
This is a BEAUTIFUL location that I do recommend; our beautiful, outdoor, autumn wedding was stunning. I would not have changed venues, but there are some things they need to work ...
on (they messed up our reception drink menu options- they did apologize profusely and we have moved on; they are also extremely difficult to get a hold of by phone and email).
This was the first venue that I looked at, and after that meeting I was done looking! The gardens were breathtaking and completely admirable. The barn was beautifully restored. The...
whole feel was just warm, inviting and secluded. As I was planning my wedding I knew there was nothing to worry about when it came to all the final details on the day because of all the help that I received from them. I am so happy with my wedding day.
This location is amazing!! A lovely garden, historic barn, ideal location ... Somewhat flaky owners. Although almost everything was perfect the day of (the flower centerpieces by t...
he venue weren't quit right), they were difficult to deal ith beforehand, from the contract through scheduling..
But, like I said, the day turned out well with great food, service, cheap but really good beer & wine.
Be careful of the inclusive package & contract. Make sure your flowers are truly included.
I'll start off my saying that my wedding was perfect and beautiful. This happened by the grace of god and my awesome wedding planner (and friends) who stepped in to make things ha...
ppen the way we had envisioned. I'll also say that Kenwood is a great location for a wedding for a size of 100-150 people.
BUT, you knew this was coming, the process to get to our big day was VERY painful. We had booked this location a little over a year in advance and felt relatively good about the place. After our initial meeting with Lori, I don't think she works in there anymore, small issues started to surface. I am an account manager in advertising, so by trade I have to be organized, aware of all the details and make sure all communications are clear. So from our very first meeting with Lori and John the main contacts at the location, I sent a recap outling the cost estimate Lori had provided and next steps. The price that Lori had confirmed and the one I put in the email was what I thought we were spending, but soon learned she forgot to include tax. Which if you don't know is 9.0% in Sonoma. Ok, so I learned a lesson moving on...
Over the course of the year, we would follow up and provide all the necessary documents in a timely manner but communications from Kenwood were inconsistent. It took forever (weeks and months vs days) for John to write back and confirm, and once he did; questions were never answered and emails were often long and pointless. So we sucked it up thinking once we get closer to the wedding they will pay more attention to us. But it only got worse.
As we were nearing the wedding, a lot of the small details began to surface and again we tried to communicate and get things answered over email. It took John weeks and sometimes months to get back to us. And when he did return emails, they usually consisted of him apologizing that he couldn't back to us because of some family issue. I tried to understand, but at the same time i really just needed answers and this wasn't just a one time thing, this happened numerous times. So I bit my tongue and tried to be polite and ask if perhaps a call would be better than emails, AGAIN nothing back from them. I finally gave up and asked my now husband to step in. Thankfully he did, but also had similar issues.
Then 1 month out, things just got worse. We had alot of details to figure out (how much alcohol to buy, finalizing the menu, etc..). So we wrote an email out-ling all of the outstanding questions/concerns with the subject line "Urgent please read". To which, we got an incredibly rude and unprofessional email back....I mean rude! We both were stunned and by now I had hired a day of wedding planner who was also shocked by the tone of the email. This is where I really lost it, I couldn't believe that he was reprimanding us for trying to get answers. We were blown away, we were spending alot of money that we had been saving up and we were being treated as if we had done something wrong by asking for a response to confirm the last minute items. This is also when I had brought in my wedding planner, John was NOT happy about it and showed it by making the process incredibly difficult. He would not work with her until she had sent in her paperwork, which she had done immediately. He didn't do this with any other vendor I had, and he referred to her as a vendor. It was obviously he had an issue with her (perhaps it's because I didn't c
