This place was perfect for our wedding and was exactly what we were looking for. The venue is absolutely beautiful and I really appreciated the “get-ready” spaces—the bridal area in particular is beautifully furnished, spacious, and super convenient. The staff was wonderful-I really cannot say enough good things about everyone who was working there. Kaitlyn was amazing at communicating with us, answering all of our questions in a timely manner, and worked hard to make our vision become a reality. The food was delicious and all of my guests were commenting on it! The people that were working on the day of the event (ie. Serving food and drinks, doing setup, etc.) were also so kind and friendly. I HIGHLY recommend this venue for anyone looking to have a wedding in the Summerville or Charleston area.
The Kersey House was top-notch from start to finish. They were very prompt in replying, and it was clear the event was well organized. The food was incredible, as well! I would book with them for future events as they don't only do weddings.

Kersey House is a beautifully restored historic wedding venue in the heart of Summerville, South Carolina, dating back to circa 1912. Originally built as a private residence, this elegant Southern home has been thoughtfully transformed into a one-of-a-kind setting for weddings, celebrations, and unforgettable gatherings.
Owned and operated by renowned chef Nico Romo, Kersey House brings together historic Southern charm and an elevated culinary experience. Nico is one of only 66 French Master Chefs in the country and the only one residing in South Carolina, bringing his French culinary expertise and passion for hospitality to the Kersey House experience.
From the moment you arrive, you'll be surrounded by the character and beauty of the original home, including two spacious Southern verandas, original heart pine floors, beautiful fireplaces, and four grand parlor rooms featuring thoughtful tributes to the Kersey family.
For celebrations, Kersey House offers a variety of distinctive spaces, including the Magnolia Ballroom, wrap-around veranda, and expansive courtyard surrounded by mature azaleas and hydrangeas. Couples can host their ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and reception throughout the property, creating a wedding experience that feels both elegant and intimate.
Our courtyard offers an especially beautiful setting for outdoor celebrations, with custom tenting available to provide flexibility in any season or weather. The property also features a private bridal suite and groom's quarters, giving couples dedicated spaces to prepare and enjoy the day.

Meet the team
- Nico RomoOwnerBorn in Lyon, France, Chef Nico Romo is the youngest-ever US member of The French Culinary Academy (l’Académie Culinaire de France) and Master Chefs of France (Maîtres Cuisiniers de France), one of just 66 French Master Chefs in the country, and the only recipient in South Carolina. Both elite organizations represent and comprise the most highly skilled chefs in the techniques and traditions of the French culinary art. Chef Romo graduated from the Helene Boucher Culinary Art School in Vénissieux at age 19 and perfected his skill under French Master Chef Patrick Henriroux at the dual-Michelin Starred restaurant La Pyramide in Vienne, France. Chef Romo spent a decade directing Patrick Properties Hospitality Group’s culinary programs and helmed the kitchen at Fish Restaurant. During that time, he was named a Monterey Bay Aquarium Sustainable Seafood Ambassador and member of the Seafood Watch Blue Ribbon Task Force recognizing his commitment to ocean-friendly seafood and Lowcountry fishermen. In 2017, Chef Romo opened his first concept, NICO, bringing his European training and appreciation for locally sourced ingredients, particularly seafood and oysters. In 2020, he opened Bistronomy by Nico in a quaint spot in downtown Charleston. Bistronomy by Nico is an approachable French Bistro that highlights innovative techniques and ingredients. His third concept, Laura, opened in Spring 2022 in Charleston’s neighboring, Summerville, serving rustic Italian food as an ode to his Italian Heritage.
