Corina and Linda made planning easy with their expertise, thousands of decorations, a dedicated and informative wedding website, and willingness to work with our vision for the ceremony and reception. They also worked with us remotely in the year plus before the wedding - no small feat given how much planning went into our individualized ceremony. The wedding day itself went incredibly smoothly and left us with no last minute details to fret about so we could enjoy our time with each other and our guests. No other venue we looked at came close to providing the value and beauty that Khimaira offers for a 100+ person wedding for close to the price. We're so thankful to have worked with Corina and Linda, and cannot recommend Khimaira strongly enough.

as executed with thought and care. As a bride, my day ran incredibly smooth leaving me able to soak in and enjoy every single moment. Corina and Linda handled anything and everything day of, not to mention the countless emails and times I met with these two in person prior to the big day. My guests were wowed by the beautiful ceremony and reception. My uncle, who has been in the wedding industry for years commented that this was the most organized and well run wedding he had ever seen. This venue bundled decor, place settings, coordination, set up / breakdown and so much more! It saved me an incredible amount of time and stress and resulted in my dream wedding :) Corina did a beautiful job and had such attention to detail in the tablescapes, dessert table, and Arbor. On my wedding day I came early to drop off my gown and was able to appreciate how truly amazing the space looked. I never would have received the same results had I attempted to enlist family / friends or even hire someone else. Lastly, Corina, captured some absolutely stunning shots from the day that were unique from what my photographer got. Right before Christmas Linda and Corina mailed these high resolution photos to me via flash drive along with a personalized ornament. Such a wonderful early Christmas present and great way to relive the best day of my life. Thank you so much Khimaira!

the outdoor and barn experience. After visiting multiple venues, they actually attended a wedding at Khimaira last year, and were blown away by the beautiful setting, and how amazing the hosts treated each and every guest. Don't let the unassuming and low key presentation of the barn fool you when you first drive up! It looks small and quaint, but once you step inside....WOW!!!! The large center area with reception tables opens on each side to covered porch areas with comfortable seating, tables and amazing views of the blue ridge mountains. The grounds are filled with a variety of foliage bursting with lush greens and a rainbow of colors. Khimaira was the only venue visited which was honest about, yes, it can rain (most said, "oh, it never rains on our weddings...." Really??!). Linda was careful to explain their rain plan, and how they can accomplish inside set up within minutes of the bride and groom making the decision. That being said, Linda has hosted so many weddings that she was able to pretty much tell us the perfect time for the ceremony in order to avoid rain showers! Note: we did not have to go to the rain plan becuase of Linda's sage advice!!! Linda Campbell and her family are the most wonderful hosts and grow to love each couple during the planning stages. Every detail is carefully planned and flawlessly executed with the love and care one would put into their own wedding. When my husband and I came the day after to pick up a few things, Linda and I both cried and hugged each other. We not only had a wedding, we made a new friend!!

an unforgettable outdoor space with a gorgeous backdrop which your guests will always remember. The indoor reception area felt intimate and our personality as a couple shined through the decorations, whether it was hand-picked by Corina and Linda through Khimaira's concierge service or brought by our families. It was a bonus that Khimaira was flexible with decorations, vendors, schedule, food, etc. Khimaira has worked with almost all (if not ALL) the vendors in the area and has excellent working relationships with them - so much so that magic was happening behind the scenes to ensure everything was good-to-go on our wedding day. Not ONCE on our wedding day did we need to worry about where to be or what to do - Khimaira had us covered. This family has really created something magical and we will forever be thankful for being able to snag one of the last Saturdays left in 2018 for one of the most memorable days of our entire lives.

nd to make our day so smooth and magical. None of the weddings we’ve been to after ours have been nearly as seamless or without hitch. They really knew their stuff! And we are so grateful. So many people have made comments to us about how ours was the best wedding they’ve been to and that’s all due to Linda, Corina, and their wonderful team. We received so many comments form our guests afterwards about how the staff was amazing and, of course, I have no disagreement! I am also so grateful for all the money that was saved with decorations (since they recycle from old weddings and you can just pick out whatever you want to use from their Pinterest page) and place settings and almost everything, really. They have a concierge service where you can customize how much of their extra services you’ll use and most things on there save you much stress and money. I also love that they donate leftover flowers to a local nursing home and the leftover food to a shelter. They really have a great system and we were so blessed to have gotten to have our wedding at Khimaira. Linda and Corina were so attuned to my vision for the wedding and somehow carried it out in a way that made it even better and more beautiful than I had imagined. I cannot speak highly enough. They literally made our day as perfect as humanly possible. I could sing their praises for days.

s the best important item to book. I wanted a place that was beautiful and represented me and my fiance's values, a place that had character and a feeling of home, while also being a place that would be cost-effective and make my life easy. I didn't want a typical catering hall, but I also didn't want to do a lot of DIY-ing. Aint nobody with a job got time for that. Khimaira Farm and the mother/daughter team (Linda and Corinna) could not have been more perfect. Many, MANY people told me that my wedding was the most beautiful and fantastic wedding they'd been to. The ceremony was right up against the picturesque Blue Ridge mountains. Linda and Corina handled ALL the details from flow of the evening and an unimaginable amount of in-theme decor that they had in their collection. They even handled ordering bulk flowers and did an AMAZING job with table set up. When I walked in I was truly taken aback. It is obvious from all of our interactions throughout the months leading up to the wedding and day of that these ladies are PROS. They've done this a million times and they have everything under control. Also, I really liked that because it's a farm, you can bring your own alcohol and hire any caterer you want, So I saved a ton of money on alcohol and food. Last but not least, Linda and Corina make you feel like family. It was truly the most amazing day, and I have Khimaira Farm to thank. THANK YOU LINDA AND CORINA!

and participated in weddings where it felt very stressful and disorganized - this was absolutely not the case with Khimaira Farms. Linda and Corina are such wonderful people and really worked hard to make the day as easy as possible. They have great relationships with all of the vendors in town and have done this so many times that they really have it down to a science. We also switched our theme for our wedding like 4 times - we ended up seeing photos of a wedding at Khimaira Farms the week before ours that they had sent out in an email and we knew that's exactly what we wanted from our wedding. They worked with a short turn around time in creating that vision for us and I can't thank them enough. All of our guests loved the venue! TLDR; Pros: - Awesome staff, very communicative - Have a whole warehouse & pinterest page of all of their wedding accessories, wedding inspiration - Sustainable venue - Great working relationship with vendors in the area - Works with setting up food if you are bringing home cooked trays - Photo Booth - Beautiful landscapes & space to roam around for guests - Sometimes they bring their goats out! Cons: - Nothing. It was the perfect day and the best party I've ever been to.

The mountains spread out endlessly around the farm, and the farm provides a cozy and welcoming venue to dance and celebrate. And while the Khimaira Farms views, goats, and beautiful barn were very important to us, ultimately it was the wonderful hosts, the Campbell Family, that led us to choose Khimaira Farm for our big day! Linda, Leith and their daughter Corina immediately made us feel like part of the family. They were so incredibly kind and welcoming, that we knew that we wanted to work with them throughout our engagement and on our wedding day. During the planning process, they were very responsive. They have so many decorations on site that we were able save money purchasing any of our own. Furthermore, through surveys, emails and visits, the Campbell's worked closely with us to ensure that our vision came through. Corina, has a great eye, and she helped bring our ideas to life. On the day of our wedding - the Khimaira Farm staff managed every detail with grace. We had zero stress, because we knew that the staff could handle anything. We feel truly lucky to have worked with the Campbell's. Our wedding is a day that we, along with our guests, will never forget. The specialness of our day is a tribute to Linda, Leith and Corina and the incredible passion they have for making their clients dreams come true.

d- weather contingency plan, all the décor in the world you can pick from, and concierge services that make set up and break down care free because they take your vision and turn it into reality. Linda and Corina made our wedding dreams come true. I can't tell you how many compliments we received on the details of the venue, things we didn't even noticed until we received our photos. They put so much heart into making sure your vision comes to life, and there are other bonuses! It is really affordable for the area, they are green and take lots of steps to make sure that nothing is wasted, they have so many amenities on site like a photo booth, bar, wedding arches etc. (which takes away the headache of having 10 million contracts to bring everything in on your wedding day). We honestly can't say enough good things about our experience at Khimaira!!!!

eeting us. The venue was nothing short of spectacular and the view cannot be put into words. We booked the venue a year and a half in advance and Linda and Corina were so responsive and helpful along the way. They reviewed our contracts to ensure we weren't paying for unnecessary items with our vendors and took our pinterest board ideas and blew them out of the water. The day of the event was so laid back because they handled all of the particulars and ensured we had nothing to worry about. I cannot recommend them enough to my family and friends for their nuptials because Linda, Corina and the Khimaira family are simply the best!

Farm (1 of 3 venues we actually visited), and quickly realized we had found something special. We loved the relaxed/fun vibe Khimaira Farm had to offer and couldn't be more satisfied with our experience there both with the venue and the staff. There are so many things for your guests to do there- games, porch swings, walking around the grounds, and I really appreciate all the thought that has gone into that. After all the hard work you put into planning the wedding, it's really rewarding to hear your guests talk about what a great time they had. Linda and her team are easy to work with, they pay attention to detail, and are genuinely good people who want you to enjoy your wedding day above all else. Here's a good example- although they have plenty of awesome decorations, I enjoy making things and really wanted to make these bike tire wedding welcome signs since I bike. I hadn't had time to make any kind of stand for them but gave Linda a brief description of my vision for them and she assured me they would find a place for them. Linda's daughter, Corina, ended up creating a gorgeous display with them right at the entrance to the ceremony that was exactly what I was imagining and I received a ton of compliments on it! Corina also took pictures (I didn't even realize she was doing that) that helped supplement the pictures from the photographer. I've written words, but I still feel like I really have no words about this place, the people there and the time we had there- so much love all around! I'm hoping we get invited to another wedding there so we can enjoy it all over again :)

This family puts in so much time and effort into the weddings they host, once we visited, we knew right away it was the place for us. Special Perks: - Corina worked tirelessly to make my vision for the barn look perfect! Since I live out of town, we emailed back and forth options of table decor until we got it just right. They have so many decor items we didn't have to buy a thing! - My wedding ceremony lasted ~30 minutes, as soon as we were done - it poured rain (they do have a quick and easy rain day plan btw). They worked with us so quickly to rearrange the schedule for the rest of the evening and keep things moving so we could do pictures later. Our guests didn't even know we had changed plans. - They've done so many weddings, they fix problems before you even knew they existed. - You can choose your own vendors, but they have worked with so many in the area and can make recommendations. All their vendors love them. - Photo both in-house and already set up! - So many of our guests were asking "How did you find this amazing place?" and commenting that it was the best wedding they've every been to. Book in advance because they are popular because of everything that you get with a very reasonable base price. Please do them a favor of visiting and talk with Corina about all the ways they can make your wedding everything you want it to be. The absolutely gorgeous venue and the whole Campbell/Nicol Family will make your day better than you could imagine. Their family business gave us so many fond memories we will cherish forever.

m. They are truly a blessing they are nice and professional and make sure your day is special. The price of the venue is not comparable. I didnt have a wedding planner and the owner sweet Linda acted as a wedding planner for me. She is caring and nice. Two months after our wedding we got a package with a usb flash drive of pictures Corina had took. On my wedding day i was so busy that i didnt even notice there was another person taking pictures. I was truly touched by their "above and beyond" service! They are a blessing you will not go wrong with this venue.

the way from Chicago, and the process could not have been smoother in terms of the back and forth. The family is very easy to reach and so helpful when it comes to choosing vendors and planning. They gave us recommendations on catering, hotels, makeup artists, and so much more and all aspects were all phenomenal. When I visited Khimaira in-person, Corina was holding her baby, showing me napkin sample colors, AND table decoration options all at the same time. Talk about some serious multitasking! I love telling that story because it's so clear this is a family run business who all work so diligently and hard. They are so passionate about making everyone's days special and never act like they're bored of doing it. In fact, when I thanked Linda and Corina for making our day so special, Linda even shed a tear. Looking back at this experience, I feel like I gained an extra family with this venue. Cannot recommend Khimaira enough! If you're second guessing, don't! Do it!

ime. Our guests absolutely adored the venue, too. Khimaira's expansive fields, well-tended gardens, and elegant barns are beautiful during the day, and the whole place takes on a magical quality at night. Our photographer mentioned how much she enjoys photographing there (so much so that she got married at Khimaira, too). Linda, Corina, and the rest of the Campbell family worked with us to make the day perfect. They are the reason we didn't get stressed about wedding planning - they handled the decorations, logistics, and our endless questions. They helped us envision the ideal day, and then they delivered. Linda and Corina even helped smooth over a last-minute family disagreement about decorations! And because the Campbell family works so closely and often with folks in the area, all the vendors (e.g., caterer, transportation, DJ) knew exactly what to do at Khimaira. It was like a community came together to throw us a wedding! We couldn't be happier with our choice to have our wedding there, and we're going to go back to visit soon.

t married here in October of this year and everything we could have wanted, was answered and taken care of. The venue itself is like something out of a movie, so natural and so beautiful. The team is efficient, kind, responsive and creative and their list of recommended vendors is a perfect tool to build your dream wedding as is their connection to the community in Luray. Corina took photos during our wedding (in addition to our photographer) at no extra cost or request and sent them to us on a USB. Her husband Josh is one of the DJ options, and we were thrilled with his services! We found Khimaira because my colleague attended a wedding there year's ago and raved about it. We are so incredibly lucky to have had that recommendation. We even just received a personalized Christmas ornament from them in the mail, which was so unexpected and so indicative of their extra quality and touch. You cannot go wrong with this venue!

price point. Linda and her family were extremely dedicated to making sure our day was perfect. Our emails were always quickly responded to and they went above and beyond to make sure our wedding was amazing. Something special I noticed too was the connection Khimaira Farms has with the surrounding community and how the locals have so much love and respect for the owners. There is a reason it usually is booked so far in advance and it’s well worth the wait no matter what.

I can't recommend Khimaira, Corina, and the whole staff enough. Amazing value, beautiful scenery and wonderful people to work with truly made our wedding the happiest day of our lives!

e kindness of the entire staff! Linda and Corina have thought of everything you could possibly need to have your wedding go flawlessly. Corina did such a beautiful job decorating the barn with our preferences and she even took a ton of beautiful photos of the venue, ceremony and reception which were sent to us on a thumb drive when wedding season was over- that was a wonderful surprise! It is a family run business and the entire family are just the nicest people. They are incredibly responsive and flexible, really the only thing my husband and I had to do was show up- the Campbell family took care of everything else! The farm has beautiful mountain views in the ceremony area and the barn is stunningly decorated for the reception. If you are looking for an outdoor, rustic wedding, this place will not disappoint! I will continue to recommend Khimaira Farm to all my friends and family looking for a place to host an event!

k to answer our emails and was worth every penny for the concierge service (ie she helped us save money on other vendors!). It was extremely helpful to be able to use their decorations free of charge. We really wanted a fall wedding with vibrant fall colors but Mother Nature did not cooperate. Linda incorporated fake flowers that were so realistic you couldn’t tell the difference. All of our guests were in awe of the venue and have recommended it to others (and hopefully one of our friends do so we can go back!)

They kept everything running so smoothly. They offer so many great services at their venue. I highly recommend the concierge services. It is a fraction of what you would pay elsewhere and they help you with everything. Setting up, decorations ( and you don’t have to buy a single decoration; they have so much on site), Linda helps review vendor contracts...and so much more. The on-site photo booth is awesome (and honestly has more gear to use then most photo booths I have seen). Linda really shares her knowledge of weddings by giving tips and her expertise that she has learned along the way. The farm has such a homey feel. All of our guests raved about how beautiful everything was. You will not regret choosing this beautiful, wonderful venue to celebrate your special day.

right outside Shenandoah National Park in Virginia – and not too far from DC. We made an appointment to see the venue and had some others as back ups, but this was to be our first venue visit. We met with the owner, Linda, and were immediately charmed not only by the venue’s stunning mountain views and the farm’s dedication to sustainability, but we were really swayed by our interaction with Linda herself. She is extremely experienced and passionate about weddings, and it is contagious within moments of meeting her. After our encounter with her, we booked the venue immediately and cancelled all other venue appointments we had planned. There was no need to see another, when you know, you know. Even after the wedding, this was one of the best decisions we made throughout the whole planning process.

ure all the details I had been envisioning over the last year came to fruition. And all the guests raved about the venue and their experience. We got the "view" we wanted (outdoors, mountains, etc.) with the help me needed to make it the perfect day.

r Autumn wedding. Of course, the day of our event, the weather had other ideas. It poured rain the whole day, but that wasn’t insurmountable, because instead we simply had the ceremony inside the beautiful converted barn. Linda, her family, and her staff were great to work with during the entire planning process. Linda gives regular email updates about the venue and shares ideas about logistics and decorations. The farm has collected many decorations over the years, so we had them come up with table settings and other decorations. We simply gave them a color scheme, and they made everything look beautiful. Several of our guests commented on the charming ambiance. They also coordinated with the vendors that we selected: the caterers, DJ, and photographer. Everyone worked together to make the best of our day. On our wedding day, the Khimaira Farm family completely set up for the day and took down for the day, they even set aside our belongings and leftovers for us to take home. Linda orchestrated everything, kept everything on schedule, and coordinated with the other vendors. Despite the rain, we were able to hold the ceremony inside with microphones amplifying the celebrant and readers over the sound of rain on the roof. All of our guests were able to hear the ceremony after which they enjoyed cocktails, dinner, and dancing. Khimaira also has a photo booth with a large selection of goofy costumes. We have many photos of friends and family in the photo booth, and guests were able to save photos as a memento of our wedding day. I don’t think we could have chosen a better venue to fit our style, nor one so adaptable to our requests and desires. Linda & family were worth every dollar.

ountain views, and thoughtful hangout spaces is a stunning and calm setting in which guests can mingle, explore the grounds, and enjoy all of the magical little areas. Linda approaches every wedding with creativity and flair, empathy, patience, and enthusiasm as though it were her own. Her frugality and ways around the basics (one example: flower petals for the flower girl to throw) saved me a fair amount of money, and I couldn't have asked for better decorations! Linda played with our "Classy Hogwarts" theme to create a feel of a cozy, bookish, English manor, rich linens and metals...it was phenomenal. She was able to dream up enough dorky touches that I believe this may become a Harry Potter Destination Wedding site :-) Linda has all of the basics planned and taken care of, she suggests ways that save on packaging and planning, and was one of the most all-inclusive places I could have found. Far under the price of other places, bang for the buck, and a very memorable experience for guests: it is at a goat farm, the guests look at the mountains as a backdrop to the wedding, outside games and firepits, bathrooms stocked with all of the essentials (like flip flops to take off your heels if they are uncomfortable), an optional photobooth with tons of props that the guests have fun with, enough signage that you don't NEED to print menus or programs, a bar that you can stock yourself, and prices for help that are cheaper than any caterer. Linda and her team are there throughout, working like house elves to have everything perfectly staged, at all times, for all photos. If you want a Hogwart's Wedding: - Silver table runner with white lace down the middle. - Pewter colored plate chargers. - "Full" table runner with succulents, potion-looking bottles, antique book stacks, iron birds and small statuary, marble/stone/wood mixed in, rich fall colors - Use Linda's collection of succulents to add some green, and accented with vines, and fresh lavender and rosemary cuttings - small accents on the tables, like the occaisional deathly hollows, time turner, or old harry potter glasses - Use the photo booth with Hogwarts inspired paraphernalia - Hanging glass globes with candles that appear to be floating - A Hogwarts banner on the bride and groom table, as well as "I solemnly Swear that I am up to No Good" wine glasses - Linda's homemade lavender goat soaps as favors (I did no signs, no packaging, she just had them ready and out and they were made from her goat's milk!) - Mischief Managed flags (instead of "Thank you") over the card/gift/guestbook table - An aged tree (like a whomping willow) for fingerprints instead of a traditional guestbook - Have Bijou's Sweet Treats make our cake: 3 tiered painted to look like Van Gogh's Starry Night, except with Hogwarts instead of the village, and a Death Star instead of the moon - A full dessert table of other tasty treats, to remind you of the great hall - Guest name cards printed in "Able Regular" font by Luray Copy Services (this is the chapter heading font in the harry potter books) - A few wands and light sabers for some killer shots of the bridal party in an epic battle - Main Street Bakery and Catering to provide a scrumptious feast. Also, many very well priced and tasty food options out this way as well.

What added to the appeal is how amazing Linda and her team are. She was always there with ways to save money and cut corners without sacrificing style or quality. She has relationships with so many wonderful vendors- we even got "secret married" 2 days before the wedding at the farm by her friend Sandy so my best friend could officiate the ceremony on our real wedding day. Linda and her team are such an amazing resource and we had the best time getting married there.

e does it with true joy. She is there for your every question and need. My husband and I were so impressed at her quick responses to our time sensitive questions. On the day of we had so many compliments from our guests. Many of which who said it was the most beautiful venue they had ever seen! We agree :) The day couldn't have been more perfect. Khimaira is a beautiful and delightful, just like the family that runs it. Thank you Linda and everyone who was there for us on and around our special day!

n in their beautiful, rustic barn. The decor comes with your wedding package and they have so much in every color it is amazing. From the beginning Linda & Corina were so immensely helpful! They decorated the entire venue for us, we gave them our vision & sent some pictures of what we were looking for and let them work their magic! When we arrived for our walk thru the day before I was blown away! It was perfect and exactly what we wanted. The day of the ceremony Linda and Corina both were lifesavers! They took care of everything...directing guests to the right place, the lineups for the bridal party, making sure the ceremony ran smoothly, coordinating with the musician and caterer & always there when we needed something. They exceeded my expectations by far! The venue, service, decor, set up, everything was absolutely perfect! I couldn't have asked for a more perfect spot for my ceremony and reception. Every little detail they got spot on! There is a groom room and a bride's room for each to get ready in and the bridal room was awesome. The bridal room had couches, mirrors and a bathroom with shower and every toiletry you could need and also little things brides may forget they need for the special day. I could never thank them enough for everything they did for us. Immensely grateful for their service!

By the end I feel like I barely did any work and it turned out better than I could have ever imagined. It was absolutely worth EVERY penny! It's been three months since our wedding and our guests are still raving about it! I cannot recommend Khimaira enough!!

the pictures can't even do it justice. Linda, the farm owner, is absolutely amazing. It's rare to come across someone as honest, humble and genuinely caring as Linda. I truly feel like we left Khimaira with an even bigger family than before. She always made us feel so comfortable and so taken care of. I never felt any pressure during the planning phase to pick more expensive options for the wedding package. Linda's day of concierge service was something we couldn't do without. She literally ran the show exactly how we wanted it with no fuss. I don't think anything went wrong, and if it did, we wouldn't know about it. So professional, so warm, this place is a fairy tale.

Gorgeous!! They include almost everything you need for your big day from plates to decorations, they have it all! We paid a little extra to have them decorate the venue for us. It really made a huge difference especially since there was a wedding the day before ours! They took my vision and made it into a reality. I couldn't have picked a better place to get married!

Walking into the decorated barn on our wedding day took my breathe away! I think she understood my vision better than I did. Word of advice to her future brides: listen to Linda because she knows what she is talking about! She lives and breathes that farm and knows all there is to know about what works and what doesn’t. She is your ally and is tremendously helpful throughout your journey in planning your wedding. She will indulge even the most absurd questions that your perfectionist maid of honor asks consistently throughout the process! You cannot go wrong in Luray located in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley. Khimaira Farm is such a naturally beautiful farm. Your guests will love the outdoor space and the rustic charm of the barn. It is a truly unique place to get married and my husband and I are extremely happy we started our life together at Khimaira Farm.

d I were indecisive throughout the planning process. The day before our wedding when we did our walk through we asked for a few additional services/changes which we felt bad for doing so last minute. Linda was able to make adjustments and happily did so with a smile on her face assuring us that it was not a problem at all. Linda and her staff went above and beyond to make the day better than we could have ever imagined! The venue itself has amazing views of the mountains and the barn is so unique. All of our guests raved about the venue and staff saying it was the best wedding they had been to. Linda is so knowledgeable and was great at answering all of our questions. As for decorations, there was very few items that I brought to the venue which was great since Linda has so much at the farm to use. All I had to do was provide Linda with what I liked and the photos I pinned from her page and she made it all come together perfectly! There are so many personal touches at the venue which makes it so unique along with the staff who genuinely care about you and your guests! Linda and her staff made things so easy and helped us save money by being so flexible (i.e. not having to go with a certain caterer and allowing us to bring alcohol among many other things!). If I could do it all over again, there is not a thing I'd change because Linda and her staff took care of everything so well and have given so much thought to the small details which make Khimaira so special!

The day-of, Linda and her staff took care of everything, from chairs to timing to coordinating with our caterers, Main Street Bakery. I'll never forget the weather, either. Just before my ceremony was scheduled to begin, a storm rolled in. When the skies opened up, I sat in the bridal suite, getting myself ready to invoke our rain plan. Then, Linda came in. "Oh no, we won't have to use the rain plan. Give it 30 minutes." She was watching the storm on Doppler, and saw that there would be a break in the storm just long enough for the ceremony. And lo and behold, within the half hour there wasn't a raindrop left in the sky! The sun came out from behind the clouds, and we had a picture perfect sunshiny ceremony. A true miracle! Khimaira is a truly magical place to have your wedding. I couldn't have asked for better!

nd of 2015. We had over a year to plan and later figured out that our date was the same day as the 2015 Kentucky Derby. So with that being said, we had a Derby themed wedding. Linda ordered commemorative glasses from past Kentucky Derbies and we used those for decorations. We also took pictures with my horse that is at the venue as well. Our photographer had never worked with horses before but Charles was great! Linda and the whole family is so loving and all around great people and I recommend this venue to anyone!

Breathtaking grounds include a field with a beautiful backdrop of the Blue Ridge Mountains, a country-style barn with lovely indoor and patio seating and various gardens adding to the relaxing feel. Service provided by venue staff was impeccable. We worked primarily with Linda, one of the most helpful, caring, talented and professional event planners I've ever worked with. Her attention to detail, prompt responsiveness and willingness to go above and beyond her responsibilities truly amazed me. I felt like I had a second mother by my side. She remembered small details of our taste and made suggestions to help ensure the vision of our special day was met. She had vendor connections, many of which we also selected. On the big day, everything ran extremely smoothly, as the majority of the vendors were used to working together at the venue. One of the pieces I valued most is that I didn't have to allocate a lot of time, resources and planning into decorations or setup. I am a planner, crafty and sometimes too detail oriented, and Khimaira greatly surpassed my expectations of providing an already beautiful setup. For extra pieces such as centerpieces, table clothes, cake display, and gift table decorations, Khimaira offered countless options for us to borrow, adding our own flare. The barn had a large flat screen TV to run a photo slideshow throughout the evening. Khimaira offers add-on options to the affordable contract, lessening planning stress and adding event special touches. Some of our favorite extra services included the photo booth, kids barn with professional child care services, bar tender, a s'mores bar and ice delivery. Khimaira helped make our wedding day perfect and their team holds a special place in our hearts.

ons in case of rain, and rustic “barn wedding” feel brought us in. Our initial outreach to the farm owners was the beginning of a wonderful relationship with some truly awesome people. When we went to visit, we found the venue of our dreams and were treated like family by the owners of the farm. Linda, the main point of contact, is extraordinarily kind, warm, welcoming, responsive, and works very hard to keep making the venue better and better. Although she has weddings on her property every weekend, she always responded to our emails the same day and treated us like her priority. The venue itself is a dream. The big field where many ceremonies are held is in fact nicknamed “the field of dreams.” In addition to the natural beauty surrounding the property, the family takes great care in maintaining their farm, including many gorgeous gardens. The “party barn,” if you will, is completely gorgeous. It lends itself well to a variety of décor options, encourages guests to mix and mingle, and has a great dance floor that was filled all night at our wedding (thanks to DJ Josh Nichol – definitely go with him for all your sound and DJ needs!). When it comes to all the “stuff” you need to pull off a wedding, particularly an outdoor one, Khimaira has it all. Tables, chairs, and closets – literally, multiple closets – full of decorations that are every Pinterest buff’s dreams come true. All of which is included in the price for the farm. Nowhere else could you find a venue with all of these options for the value; it is certainly “one-stop shopping.” From the littlest kids to my grandmother in her 90s, everyone had a blast at the wedding and the reception. The staff was amazing from start to finish. Just when you think the farm is as good as it gets, Linda has taken someone’s feedback and made it even better – someone liked the porch swing, she made a whole porch full of multiple swings, for example – this is truly a tale of the best just getting better and better. I would recommend this venue time and time again and consider us blessed to have found such a wonderful place to have our wedding.

inda to set up a visit. We fell in love with the mountain views for the ceremony and barn for the reception. So we asked her to hold our date for 9/29/13. She said she would hold and if someone else asked about our date she would contact me. Closer to the holidays I sent an email, with my full address and telephone number so she could send me the contract. I never got an answer, so a couple days later I sent another email. Linda thought she had returned my email saying another couple was interested in the date. Well because she didn't hear from me within a few days, she gave my date to this other couple. I was really disappointed that even after me saying I WANT THIS DATE please send me the contract, and giving her my address and number, she did not attempt to contact me again to make sure I got the email or contract. I then had to find another date she had available, fortunately she had 9/15, two weeks earlier, so I reserved it right away. The second upset was we had made an appointment to come back and pick out decorations we would use, a few months before the wedding. I confirmed the date and time. When we get there, no one is at the venue. I called the number I had, to only get a voicemail box. We waited an hour, no one showed. Kind of a pain to drive almost 2 hours one way and not get much accomplished. I didn't get a call or anything. When I got home I emailed her. Later on that night or the next day she emailed me to say she had an emergency and forgot about our appt. and did not have my number to call me. I understand emergencies happen, I just wish there was some sort of calendar or notebook she could carry around with client's contact numbers for when issues arise. For the cost: Linda throws in tables, chairs, recycled decor and some other small items as part of the package-which is great and I hadn't found any other venues that did that. What wasn't disclosed is how much we'd have to spend extra for her staff to clean up and do small things, that we originally had never planned on. We had family we asked to take care of stuff to save on money. The venue really pushes you to use their own people, and now that is the only option. Overall, I loved the setting, and the barn and the decor. I wish communication overall had been a lot better. If you choose this venue-and you should, its gorgeous-be diligent about making sure Linda has your contact info saved and you will need to follow up to make sure your contract is clear and you are aware of what will cost extra. Surprises during the last month of planning were not fun.

eople - true kindred spirits. They have a beautiful farm and work very hard to help make your day absolutely perfect. They do have goats that usually make an appearance. They also have a firm policy on recycling, composting, and reusing - which is GREAT. If you're about sustainability and protecting the environment, this is the place to get married. They work with the caterers to compost scraps; hang onto flowers to be reused; and store decorations from each bride to be reused by others. It's really great. We couldn't have been happier with how our day turned out. It was amazing - a dream come true. We highly recommend considering Khimaira Farm for your own wedding day.
