Kickstand Photography is based out of Oneonta, NY, specializing in weddings and other celebratory events. Owner and lead photographer Brent DeLanoy has been working behind the camera for over two decades. He is passionate about capturing the love and emotions shown at each special event. Creating lasting memories with couples and having them enjoy the experience is what lies at the heart of his approach. He is a member of both Nikon Professional Services and Professional Photographers of America.
Brent uses a documentary-style approach to capture his couples’ happiest moments. He is an award-winning landscape photographer, as well as a working commercial and editorial photographer. Whether he is climbing to the top of a mountain for an engagement session or working to create a still-life of wedding rings, he finds joy in bringing all of these disciplines together. His goal is to provide photographs that speak to who his clients are, as opposed to the perhaps familiar wedding images that they are used to seeing. The photographs from a wedding day have the potential to become some of our most precious possessions and Brent hopes to make sure the final product stands the test of time.
Kickstand Photography hopes to provide every couple with a package that fits their requirements and is willing to offer customized bundles. Every package includes a password-protected gallery on my website, where couples can download their photos directly, or ask for processing changes. Once all processing is complete, all clients will receive a USB drive with their photographs, including print and web-ready files.

Owner
Originally from New Mexico, I've now lived in central New York for 15 years. I hold an MFA in Creative Writing from NMSU and for about 10 years I was a college English professor. After that, I served as the company photographer for Golden Artist Colors, manufacturers of artist quality paints and materials.
Now that I've made the decision to pursue photography full-time, you'll usually find me scouting new landscape photography locations during the week with my dogs. On the weekends, I'm probably shooting a wedding, or camping with my family. Thanks so much for reading!

I'm very glad I hired Brent to photograph my wedding. He is professional, responsive to emails, and takes beautiful photos. He was unobtrusive at the ceremony and reception but also made sure we didn't miss any opportunities to get good photos. My dad has dementia, and Brent was very patient and understanding when my dad struggled with posing for group portraits. All around a good guy.

We are so happy we chose to hire Kickstand Photography! Brent did an amazing job with our engagement photos as well as wedding photos and videos. Brent had already photographed a few weddings at our venue and knew the grounds well. He made sure to get us outside for some sunset photos. One thing that stood out was Brent was able to get great action shots on the dance floor without us knowing he was there. I was so happy to get my gallery and see pictures of moments I may have missed due to being so busy on my wedding day. 10/10 would recommend!!

Brent was simply phenomenal! He shot both our engagement and wedding and was everything we could have hoped for. He met me at the proposal site and had such a good eye for how to get the perfect shot. He was so friendly and accommodating and made us feel at ease throughout both occasions. We had some uncooperative weather during our wedding, but Brent was quick on his feet to find ways to get perfect photos. He made sure to get all the photos we wanted and suggested so many more we wouldn't have thought of. He is a master of his craft, and we were so lucky to have him!

We had a small wedding. Just about fifty people in our backyard. Brent did a such a wonderful job. We have pictures of nearly everyone laughing and having a great time. Plus all of “usual” wedding photos. We can’t be happier!

Brent did an amazing job at our wedding. We both have huge families and Brent really helped keep things moving. He’s also very calm, which helped us weather the silly little dramas of a wedding. Lots of great candid shots, but some great posed shots as well. We’re really happy we went with Brent.

We had such a wonderful day with Brent. He fit right in from the moment he got there for the day and he was super accommodating with our wedding party which included 3 amateur photographers lol
We got a good vibe the first time we talked to Brent before we'd made a decision on photographers - and we definitely made the best decision for us. We prioritized candid photos, but got a fantastic mix of family & wedding party photos as well. Brent was happy to accomodate all the photos we wanted to capture and used his artistic style to capture some of our favourite candid shots of friends and family.

Brent was absolutely amazing! He checks all the boxes for professionalism all the way around. What I really want to review is his ability to listen and understand your personal vision for what you want captured about your event and lend his artistry to provide you with a complete package. Not only did I get amazing photos that captured the day, but we got art that captures the emotions and feelings behind the images on paper. His ability to not only capture the shot but the beauty behind the shot is what is truly remarkable about his service. Very highly recommend if you want captured moments and not just pictures.

Brent did not disappoint and captured the day exactly how we wanted! From the consultation call to the follow ups and delivery, Brent was professional, fun and kind. My husband and I were looking for someone to capture the candid moments of our love and guests. HE DELIVERED! He meshed well with our crowd and vendors and made us feel very comfortable. Working with Brent was awesome! His services were gifted to me by a friend. He called beforehand to go over timing and specific moments I wanted and was very helpful in going over how he was going to fulfill that. Brent is a true professional who takes pride in his craft and it shows where it matters - in your photos. He did our wedding photos and they came out absolutely amazing! They are all gorgeous photos, but he managed to perfectly capture a very fleeting emotional moment during our ceremony that is now my most cherished photograph.
He is not just another photographer--he is an artist and a director who can get that perfect shot. He knows how to use his equipment, the light, and the environment he walks into to immortalize the beauty of your wedding day. I would wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone and I personally wouldn't want to ever hire anyone else.

We feel so incredibly lucky to have found Brent! He is incredibly talented, professional, and just an all-around kind person. He took the time to listen and understand our vision for our wedding, and he captured it beautifully.
