al photographer before, but she made the experience so seamless. It was extremely easy to take direction from her. Our photos all turned out beautiful and none of the poses looked forced! She is truly a genius at capturing a special moment in time! As a bonus! We will definitely recommend her as anyone recently engaged! She offers engagement shoots, which was a nice detail we got to share with our friends and family!

Keeping that in mind, the photographer you choose and trust with such an integral part of your wedding day has to be someone you have full confidence in and, wholeheartedly, I can say that Kiernan meets and exceeds all the expectations of what makes an incredible wedding photographer. She was able to make my (now) husband and I feel relaxed, while also offering VERY helpful and necessary directions of how to pose (down to the way to tilt our head, where to look, where our hands should be, etc) and that was so appreciated! It's always frustrating when someone is taking a picture of me and I think I look one way in my head... until I see myself in the resulting photo and realize how awkwardly my body position was or that lipstick had gotten smeared on my cheek... and if the photo worthy moment has passed, I’m stuck with either a ruined photo that I don’t like or a memory that will soon fade with no decent photo to commemorate it. Thankfully this wasn't something I had to worry about when shooting with Kiernan, and it made me feel so much more confident to know that if something needed to be changed or corrected in order to get the best photo possible, she would notice it and then she’d let us know what we need to do to get that shot. A good wedding photographer should also have decent “people skills” and be able to work with different personalities and unique relationship dynamics, as weddings have the added complication of involving multiple families coming together and all the potential anxiety and frustration that can come with interpersonal familial drama. But, Kiernan was wonderful at rolling with things as they came and keeping things moving, she never seemed overwhelmed or impatient. She was a true professional at every moment. I think her easygoing confidence really helped me more than I can say.. as there was a moment during family photos that I was beginning to stress about family politics and trying to include everyone, while also being clearly overwhelmed by it all; thankfully Kiernan’s calm reassurance was exactly what I needed in that moment. Then, after the wedding, when my husband and I received our sneak peek photos, (which were sent so quickly that we got them while we were still in our post-wedding hotel suite) and we were blown away by how beautiful they turned out. There were so many amazing shots that I loved, I couldn’t pick a favorite... I had at least 10-15 top favorites. To wrap it up, Kiernan is an insanely talented photographer, a true professional and just an overall sweet, lovely person. I can be quite awkward around new people, but Kiernan honestly made me feel like I was working with/ getting photographed by a friend. If you are getting married soon and are looking for a photographer that will be able to deliver photos you will cherish forever AND who will make you feel comfortable and confident while the photos are being taken... I highly recommend Kiernan Michelle Photography, as I sincerely believe she is the best you will find... I know she was for me!
