We recently had the pleasure of working with Kim A Taylor Photography for our engagement shoot, and we couldn't be more thrilled with the experience. From the very beginning, Kim was an absolute delight to work with, always maintaining a positive attitude and making communication a breeze, whether via text or phone call. After some joint research, we chose Point No Point Lighthouse as our shoot location, and it perfectly suited our theme and vision. Kim went above and beyond by scouting the area beforehand to identify the best spots for our photos. She meticulously considered every detail, from the time of day to wind and tide conditions, ensuring we had the best possible environment for our shoot. Despite our initial nervousness and personal insecurities about being in front of the camera, Kim made us feel like stars the moment she arrived. Her warm and encouraging demeanor instantly put us at ease. Throughout the shoot, her directions were clear and easy to follow, making the whole process enjoyable and stress-free. Even our clumsy "oops" moments were beautifully captured, with one of those candid shots now proudly displayed in our home! Kim's dedication and attention to detail were truly remarkable. The extra care she took to make sure everything was perfect did not go unnoticed. We love Kim!!! From our engagement photos to the day of the wedding, she made my husband and I feel comfortable and at ease behind the camera. Her easygoing style and ability to make everyone laugh made two people who are usually very uncomfortable behind the camera much more at ease. We had a small wedding and Kim fit right in, grabbing gorgeous photos without disrupting the flow of the evening. It was important to us to have our photographer seamlessly become part of the night without stopping conversation or flashing lights during dinner, and Kim was exactly that. Kim photographed our engagement shoot, rehearsal dinner, and wedding. Best. Decision. Ever. Kim has such a wonderful and warm personality. Everyone at our wedding loved her. She helps you with poses and makes you feel comfortable in front of the camera (which can be intimidating!). She is incredibly detailed and organized. She was also super helpful with our wedding timeline. She stepped up during a discussion with our wedding coordinator to say that we were probably trying to jam too much into the schedule and helped us reorganize it. I really appreciated this because I was feeling super overwhelmed at the time. She went above and beyond, including coming to the rehearsal at the venue, arriving early, and staying late to make sure our photos were perfect. When we got our photos, I was amazed by all the photos she got. Beautiful portraits, small details, wide landscapes, candids. She truly captured our day. Lastly, I must highlight that I've attended weddings where the photographers can feel intrusive. This was not Kim at all. I honestly don’t know how she got some the incredible shots!

Kim is not just a photographer. After working with her for our engagement shoot, rehearsal dinner, and wedding photos, I am convinced she is also a magician and a miracle worker! Kim brought an infectious energy to all our events and helped make everyone involved feel so warm and comfortable. She learned our bridal party and close family members by name, and she coached everyone through poses in a way that felt both fun and natural. She even had my military/preacher father (a man who wasn’t thrilled about taking portraits) laughing, grinning ear to ear, and completely at ease. Being an interracial couple, my partner and I were anxious in our search for a photographer who could capture everyone's beauty, regardless of skin tone. I worried about intense shadows in group photos or being washed out by filters that work best on lighter skin tones. Kim managed to capture everyone with the glowing love we all felt on that beautiful day. I have truly never seen more beautiful photos of my partner and I, as either a portrait or candid. She also fulfilled our request to prioritize capturing the guest experience at our wedding. We have come away from our wedding celebration with memories of real moments that we hold deep in our hearts. Booking Kim for our wedding photography was easily the best choice I made for my wedding (other than who the groom was!).

Kim helped make me (the groom) so comfortable across the engagement, rehearsal dinner and wedding day shoots. She was flexible and collaborative throughout the process, but more than anything she was dedicated. Kim had never shot a wedding in Port Townsend before, but she put in an incredible amount of work to scout and plan all of our shoots. She found locations and planned angles that created incredible moments and beautiful photos without disrupting the flow of our day. Her preparation, commitment and enthusiasm made the entire process so easy! When it was time for the events, she had an ability to be everywhere at once. She never interrupted the flow or moment, but always was near enough to capture it. The candid shots she delivered capture the genuine emotion of the weekend. When it was over, she delivered the galleries alarmingly fast. My bride and I were able to look through the previous night's Welcome Dinner gallery while we were having coffee at 8am on the day of our wedding. I would recommend Kim without any reservation or qualification.

Kim is the best photographer I could have ever asked for. I had requested to split our photos into chunks to make them more manageable and so I could spend more time with my guests and she happily obliged. I have NEVER seen my husband be comfortable getting his photo taken until we got photos done with Kim. I could not recommend her more!

We wanted to meet with Kim because we loved her portfolio, and when we first met her we clicked right away. She is very professional and has great energy that makes it easy to relax and have fun! Kim A. Taylor was everything we could have hoped for and more! Initially I was drawn to her by the glowing reviews in her wake. When I saw a photo of her perched on top of a door frame to capture THE perfect group shot, I knew she was the one! Kim is an outstanding communicator who delivers in her genuine relatable manner, planning, creativity, and artistry. She even took the time to scope out our venue on multiple occasions to see how the lighting would change throughout the day. She was a gem with our nephews and nieces who ranged from 10 months to 6 years. She memorized our whole wedding guest list of 30+ people and she and her partner had the photos so organized that we kept on our tight schedule as dictated by the venue. I'll be the first to say I feel awkward in photos and don't know how to pose. Kim was so patient with us. She modeled the posing and expressions in a way that made us laugh and act natural for the camera. When my husband and I needed a break from the spotlight, she accommodated without complaint. She was everywhere obtaining every shot I requested and more and yet unobtrusive. I gently reminded the two of them to stop, eat, and take breaks as they were non-stop from pre-wedding onward. We only had our wedding a few days ago and she already sent us the link to our photos! Kim A. Taylor had competitive photography rates and after working with her and seeing the results I am certain she was worth every penny and more! I know that marriage is once in a lifetime, but if I had to plan the perfect wedding all over again, Kim A. Taylor would still be the one for me.

Kim was really wonderful. We are so glad we found her. She did an awesome job for our two-day wedding. And it was the best experience to work with a photographer like her. She is super kind, fun, friendly, and dedicated to her work. She went into a great level of detail when we met her before to create our timelines and it was very reassuring. During our events she was constantly directing the traffic. She was really attentive to details. She was committed to each picture - making sure everyone was smiling, eyes open, in the right spot, etc. And this really reflects on the final pictures we received. They’re outstanding. She worked with our day of coordinators and really controlled the pace of the timeline. Even when there were hiccups (like our caterer arriving 2 hours late) she stayed flexible and adapted. She remembered all of the pictures that would be affected and made an immediate plan b. Her detail shots of the venue and our clothes accessories are absolutely gorgeous. And she was really good at adapting to indoor vs outdoor lighting. The barn we held our reception in was DARK. She had all the gear and cameras she needed for that and she carried multiple cameras so she could switch easily between close ups or wide angle or whatever else she needed. We were really worried about finding someone who could capture motion on the dance floor. She was amazing - literally dancing herself into the center of the dance floor (which got intense) and captured everyone! The style of her dance floor pictures is awesome! Such a fun use of motion and lighting! Her turn around time for our pictures was earlier than she had promised. It was a wonderful surprise to receive them to close to the event. She does her homework well. She visited the venue before the wedding and she researched Indian weddings to be prepared for what would happen during the ceremony. She made use of the whole property, the gardens, the buildings, and all of the nature. She has a great process to make sure she doesn’t miss out on any important pictures requests by having a clipboard with so many details! She could’ve left after the first day’s events were over but she stayed late to set up lighting and scout spots for our second day. She really went above and beyond to make this a memorable event for us. She even was running after us on our getaway car at the end of the 2nd night. Kim literally never quit for two days straight!

Working with Kim has been an absolute dream. She is extremely professional and really makes you feel special. I could not recommend anyone more.

We hired Kim to shoot our engagement session and wedding and could not be more happy that we did! Kim is an absolutely amazing photographer with a great eye for capturing the perfect angle and light. But she also has an amazing personality that makes everyone feel at ease. We met Kim (Kim A. Taylor Photography) at another wedding, and we were so impressed, we hired her for our daughter's wedding. She made the 'posed' family shots quick and efficient, and most importantly, bearable. She also captured 'moments' while the bridal party was getting ready, during the ceremony and post ceremony that were perfection. We met Kim at a friends wedding, and proceeded to hire her for my sister’s wedding, our engagement pictures, our wedding, and family pics! Kim was punctual, friendly, enthusiastic and professional. Ahead of time, she evaluated the venue (it was outdoors in a garden), the wedding dinner restaurant (it was indoors), the bride's dressing area, and our home. She did a wonderful job of capturing both our best moments as well as our family, wedding party and guests in these venues. She knew exactly what things we needed to do; we just followed her directions and the photos came out great. This was my second marriage. On my first, I scrimped on the photographer. I decided to do it right this time and I am glad I did. What actually happened at the wedding will fade from all our memories over time. But we will always have these photos. Kim captured our day so perfectly at our small intimate wedding. We got married in the mountains and Kim went above and beyond by scoping out the venue and location prior to our wedding day in order to come up with an itinerary for us to capture her unforgettable pictures. I really didn’t know what to expect and she helped guide me through the whole process. She met with us prior to the wedding to make sure she captured all the family photos we wanted in addition to her candid photos and to get to know us as a couple and help figure out our style as I love the in the moment photos and candid photos! She made being in a picture so easy and was so helpful in talking us through the shots but also making us feel at ease with her down-to-earth personality. We LOVED Kim and her attention to detail for the whole day to the finished photos. We had our pictures so quickly and she even sent us a few the next day to enjoy with all the rest shortly after.

My husband and I had a wedding that a lot of people dream of having, and it was in large part to Kim! She was able to catch every single piece of the magic with the pictures she took!
