Kim and Lupe were incredible and very patient working with my wedding party, which ranged in experience from someone who had no idea what they wanted for their hair & makeup to som...
eone who brought extensive references and asked for specific changes. I am an anxious person by nature, even more so when I have to be even partially in charge of any kind of event, and Kim's calm and practiced work made me feel so much more at ease. She was even able to incorporate a golden laurel hairpiece that I was worried wouldn't work, but it did, and I felt like an empress on my wedding day.
I particularly appreciated Kim's skincare product suggestions, which I still use a month out from the wedding and plan on continuing, swapping out parts as needed. I've come to enjoy my skincare ritual in the mornings, and my partner has noticed the difference and started looking for some of his own to use!
Kim Baker Beauty did hair and makeup for me & my wedding party at the Presidio Golf Course in San Francisco.
If I could give Kim Baker Beauty more than 5 stars, I would!! My wife and I got married in Saratoga, California a couple of weeks ago and we couldn't have been more thrilled with K...
im, Lupe, and Steven. We got hair and makeup for ourselves and our bridesmaids, junior bridesmaids, and even a little kid makeup for our flower girls.
Our priorities were to feel present on our wedding day and to feel like ourselves, just a little more polished. We don't wear makeup on a day to day basis, and so we didn't want fake lashes or extensions. Kim worked with us to help us achieve our vision for our hair and makeup and encouraged us to give her extensive notes about what we didn't like at our preview (SO hard to do as a people pleaser, but Kim created a safe space where we were able to do so).
My wife Ali thought she wanted a glowy look, but ended up going completely non-glowy on wedding day and LOVED it. She struggles to have her hair hold a curl for more than an hour, and Kim did such a good job her hair was still wavy the morning after the wedding after sleeping on it all night!
I found out at our preview how particular I am about having my makeup done, and Kim let me do my eyeliner and eyebrows myself on our wedding day. It was the perfect balance of feeling pampered by Kim but still feeling in control of the things I am very picky about!
Both of us have very sensitive scalps, and Kim made sure each and every pin felt comfortable and wasn't pinching. It made a HUGE difference in our stamina throughout our long crazy wedding to not have the added sensory nightmare of pins buried in our heads.
Full disclosure, Kim is a dear friend of mine. But she and her team also hit it off with the rest of our bridal party! They're in selfies taken while getting ready, and they even got our shy junior bridesmaids chatting and laughing. We are so grateful for how they made our wedding morning feel organized, calm, and fun!
If you're not sure whether to book Kim Baker Beauty, take it from me - there's none better.
Kim Baker Beauty is a fantastic business! I chose them initially because they had a good Covid-19 policy, and they offered basic hair+makeup services for men. I don’t think I found...
anyone else who had that listed in their regular services.
When I did a video call with Kim, she was very kind, fun, and had great advice, and great patience for all my questions. I wear makeup extremely rarely, so I was very little help. Kim explained a bunch of stuff to me, and gave great suggestions, both for the makeup, and for a pre-wedding skin care routine. She recommended several products (which were lovely!) and gave me a whole routine to do. She tailored it completely to my needs, including asking how good I am with sticking to routines and how overwhelming it might be to have several products, which is such a great question!
Kim also arranged a schedule for the hair and makeup services that was detailed out with who would be working on who and when. That was very helpful to have early on so that we knew how much time we would have for pictures.
A week before the event we did a hair and makeup preview session with Amber, one of the artists who was going to work with us on the day of. She was fantastic, listened to what we were looking for and gave advice (which we definitely needed!) She was very patient with our questions, lack of knowledge, and lack of intended vision. It was very very helpful to do a preview, and especially with Amber working with us on the day of the wedding.
On the day of, we worked with Amber, Koryn and Ari. They were all extremely professional, highly skilled, friendly, and kind! We did have to swap one person around who was a bit late, but they took it in stride. And I asked for some slight tweaks from the preview, which were put into practice perfectly!
All three artists were right on time and worked diligently and quickly. They listened to everyone’s requests, gave advice where needed. It was a wonderful experience all around!
I would absolutely recommend Kim Baker Beauty, they are highly skilled, highly professional, and completely up front and clear about expectations, which I always really appreciate.
Thank you so much Kim, Amber, Koryn, and Ari!!
I got married in Monterey, CA and used Kim Baker Beauty (specifically Kim) for my bridal hair and makeup. Kim was so professional on top of being so kind while my bridesmaids were ...
buzzing around. I was worried about looking like a completely different person, and Kim made sure I looked like a glowing bride. She was the first vendor I met day of and set the tone for a very relaxed day. She also helped me build out a skin care routine to prep for the big day by making it seem less intimidating and using my budget and skincare concerns. 10/10 would recommend and plan to use Kim's team again in the future!
Kim Baker Beauty was a pleasure to work with on my big day! Kim and Amber worked on me and three bridesmaids and we were all so happy with how it turned out. Kim is professional an...
d fun to talk to, she eases any concerns you may have and really listens to what you’re asking for. I loved that she had recommendations for products and even other vendors when I needed help planning my big day. We all received compliments from wedding guests on how well our hair and makeup looked that day. I cannot thank Kim Baker Beauty enough!
My wedding was 10-02-2022 at Temescal Beach House in Oakland. Kim did my hair and make-up as well as the hair and make-up of my mom and 2 bridesmaids. Throughout the process-from m...
y very first phone/video call with her, until the wedding day- Kim was kind, responsive, professional, and completely fantastic. She's genuine and calming which for me, was exactly what I wanted. I do not wear make-up or do my hair so this was the aspect of my day-of wedding prep that I was most worried about. I didn't want heavy make-up or to not look like myself. I also didn't have a pinterest board or a ton of my own ideas because that world (of hair and make-up) is intimidating to me and just not a language I speak.
Kim was SO good at giving me options, talking me through things, and REALLY listening to my preferences. She was adaptive and sincere throughout the process and I felt SO beautiful on my wedding day. I looked like me, but leveled up a few notches, and my friends and family recognized me. The hair and make-up also lasted all day which was awesome. Kim is seriously the best (also queer friendly which was great). I cannot recommend her more highly.
I hired Kim Baker Beauty to do hair and makeup for me for my wedding in Sausalito, CA. Kim and Amber were amazing throughout the whole process and did an amazing job on both my own...
hair and makeup and the rest of my wedding party. I never wear makeup and my (now) husband dislikes it so I was most nervous about looking like myself on my wedding day but Kim checked in at every stage to make sure I liked the way the makeup looked and felt like myself. If you’re looking for really professional and stress free wedding hair and makeup hire Kim! You won’t regret it.
Kim has done my makeup on quite a few occasions and her work is always flawless. Most recently, she did my makeup for my wedding day back in June and it was perfect. The way she ap...
plies face makeup (which I have always had an aversion to) made it feel like I had little to nothing on so for me it was very comfortable. Kim does a great job making your skin look amazing and somehow manages to make her work last so long! After my ceremony in 90+ degree heat, my husband and I went to do sunset photos hours later and I had asked my photographer to fix any makeup that may have gotten smeared/messed up and her comment was "wow, it still looks perfect" so to me that was a huge testament to Kim's work. I'd recommend Kim to anyone in need of makeup services!

s! I highly recommend working with her if you have the chance. She did my wedding hair & makeup, along with the makeup for my 3 MOH/Bridesmaids.
She was very accommodating when scheduling my hair and makeup trial, even meeting me at my office on a Friday despite it being a few hours out of her way. During the trial she asked me questions about my skin and beauty routine before giving me samples and recommendations on how to best take care of my skin during the 6 weeks leading up to my wedding. She listened thoughtfully as I described the hair & makeup styles that I had envisioned - a natural face that made my eyes pop & a partially up hairstyle. While she did my makeup we bonded over our shared passion for early childhood education and of course talked all things weddings, the time flew by!
When she finished up we discussed some of the things I loved, and some things I didn't like as much as I expected to. She took these notes and ended up even buying a few specific pieces of makeup to use on me - the final result the day of the wedding was absolutely perfect!! I'm so glad we did the trial, it allowed me to learn exactly what I wanted, while also giving Kim & I time to get to know each other better before the wedding day. After all, she spent the full morning in the bridal suite with us, so it was important to me that we genuinely enjoyed each others company! She was so easy to get along with, my mother, sisters, and friends all loved having her with us.
Finally, knowing that I tend to run sweaty & it was going to be a gorgeous day out, Kim thought ahead to put extra setting spray on my makeup, and hair spray - especially important for boogying on the dance floor! This extra thought allowed for my hair & makeup to look great all through the night - the photos are proof! Thank you so much for making my big day so special, Kim.

Calling all Bay Area people who wear make up! Kim is the BEST! If you are a makeup ding dong (like me) & don’t know what you’re even looking for, her questions will guide you along...
through the process & you will look amazing. Not only was she non -judgemental about my lack of knowledge in this department, but she was so kind, but made the process fun, took my feedback from the trial & gave me a look on my wedding day that I absolutely loved. Do the trial! I wasn’t crazy about my brows & wanted a little change to my lip color. She’s flexible, works with an incredible team, and makes sure you’re totally taken care of on the day of your event. It’s worth the investment, Kim is an incredible artist & someone you can trust.

h about working with all different skin types and types of makeup looks to create the perfect personalized look for my wedding party! She had me upload my inspiration photos and consulted with me and my own facial anatomy and hair texture and length to make the perfect makeup and hair look for my wedding day and it was better than anything I could have dreamed of. She continuously checked in throughout our entire process of working together and was so communicative and open to questions. While we were getting ready, Kim had such a calming, grounding energy that REALLY helped with my nerves and made my wedding morning such a special experience. She is so warm and friendly yet chill and really made us all feel so beautiful. She did our absolute dream hair and makeup for myself, my mom, my maid of honor, and one of our guests and all four of us kept looking in mirrors throughout the day saying "how do I look this good?!" If you are getting married in the Bay Area I cannot stop talking about how amazing Kim was! Thank you so much Kim!
TL;DR: Kim Baker Beauty is fantastic and you should absolutely book them!
When looking for a hair & makeup artist, as a queer couple, we were a little apprehensive about finding a...
n artist who would be well-versed in hair & makeup for couples and weddings outside of heteronormative traditions. My partner was a little worried about finding someone who would "get it" in terms of their style--more minimal and masculine--and who wouldn't try to push them into doing a more feminine style. Kim and Audra both totally got it!
Kim was super communicative throughout the whole process and was so great to work with. Due to unforeseen circumstances the week of our wedding, Kim couldn't make it--but she immediately organized one of her other artists, Audra, who did a truly superb job.
My partner and I both got hair and makeup services. I had a more classic bridal look and my partner had more minimal makeup and their short hair styled. We both absolutely loved the way we looked and felt amazing on our wedding day! We wanted a calm, chill morning while getting ready for our wedding and Audra was lovely, so kind and easy to talk to, and had a very calm energy. Our hair and makeup lasted extremely well throughout the evening, even through hours of dancing!
Kim and Audra are total pros and made us feel stunning on our wedding day. I can't recommend them highly enough!

and went beyond with it. I felt so confident and beautiful on my wedding day and Kim was a big part of that!
Whether you want something natural & subdued or want to go full glam Kim will listen and make you feel supported and you will feel like the best version of yourself on your big day. I would highly recommend her for any event you need make up for.

as so sweet and very communicative throughout the process. She took every piece of feedback from the trial and made magic happen. She also brought in Alli to assist with bridesmaid makeup and do my hair which also turned out exactly how I wanted. I couldn’t be any happier with the two of them.
I also knew NOTHING about skin care before contacting her about my wedding makeup and now I have never had better skin. My acne is so much more manageable and I feel more confident in my skin. I am so incredibly happy I found her. I will always remember how she helped make my wedding day so incredibly special!
Kim was so easy to work with, kind, and loving. We had our first consultation over Zoom and I knew she was going to be a great asset to my wedding day. Not only is she so talented ...
as a makeup artist and aesticitian, but she has a calm and soothing presence. She was super flexible with my trial, since I was coming in from out of town. And on my wedding morning, she knew every answer to all of the questions that everyone was asking me. I was overwhelmed with decisions at that point and Kim was the calm voice that coordinated everything for me. It was awesome to have that support to not only help me look my best, but feel my best as well. As a low maintenance makeup girl, I was a bit nervous to have professional makeup done. She enhanced my natural beauty, not making me look like I was wearing too much makeup, but just right. It photographed beautifully and it stayed put as I danced the night away. I am so grateful to have found Kim to beautify me on my wedding day!

Kim Baker is a dream make-up artist! When I got engaged, I was nervous about finding a natural make-up artist for myself and my 8 bridesmaids, because for your wedding, you really ...
want your make-up to be perfect. When I found Kim, I knew she was the artist I was looking for! Not only is her work gorgeous, but she also got to know me as a person, and my regular style and make-up preferences. She asks questions about your skin care routine, and even provides suggestions and tips on all things skin care, makeup, and more! The day of the wedding, she arrived early and kept track of the schedule for all my bridesmaids and myself. She even did my aunt's make up when she requested the service last minute! Kim brings a calming presence to the bridal chaos, and was someone I looked to for tips through out my engagement process. I highly recommend Kim!

Kim goes above and beyond to make sure all her clients feel happy with her work. She consults with you about skincare, products and even sent me a playlist to put on while getting ready. She's a lovely person and a fantastic artist. I highly recommend working with her.

comes to make-up, but she was extremely accommodating as well, which is exactly what I was looking for.
Because I had a destination wedding I wasn't able to do my trial until the week before my wedding, but Kim made me feel so at ease. She came prepared to the trail with a look based off of some pictures and feedback I gave her and after a couple tweaks we ended up with a look I loved. She listened to what I thought and had either great advice or suggestions to give. She provided a subtle glam look for me that was absolutely perfect.
Not only did she amaze me, but she also provided great service for the rest of my bridal party who all loved her work. Whether they wanted full make up, just lashes or a very natural look, she was extremely accommodating. She even did different facial masks for me and my mom before our makeup.
I would highly recommend Kim if you're looking for a easy-going makeup artist who will make you so comfortable and at ease the day of you're wedding, and trust me, this is important!
