rs! The hotel itself is beautiful and well-maintained. We've stayed at the Kimpton a few times now, and the staff is always extremely friendly (plus, it's pet-friendly!). Though it's a larger hotel, they do an incredible job giving it a sort of boutique feel, which we loved. Also, I couldn't recommend late August in Vermont enough—you run the risk of rain, but the days and nights start to cool, and the weather was perfect for us. We toured a lot of venues in Vermont, but one thing that didn’t sit well with us was how some hotels hosted multiple weddings per weekend—even multiple per day. A big reason we chose the Kimpton Taconic was that they only host one wedding per weekend, so it never gave the “wedding factory” vibe that some other locations give. For our guest count of ~130, it was the perfect size and setup. Having everything in one location—the rehearsal, welcome drinks, ceremony, and reception—was incredibly convenient, especially for the older guests and children at our wedding. Also, with several other hotels within walking distance and lots of Airbnbs nearby, our guests had lots of options for places to stay and transportation was never a concern, which was important to us. Our wedding coordinator, Natalie, was incredibly supportive and accommodating throughout the planning process. Understanding the significant financial commitment involved, Natalie really helped us get comfortable with a lot of the details and the financial aspects and ensure everything went smoothly. As with many wedding venues, some pricing aspects felt steep, but much of that was beyond Natalie’s control. She was always flexible and helped us navigate those challenges, making the experience much more manageable. We were able to pick and choose what we wanted to spend on vs save on because Natalie was so transparent. Overall, the Kimpton Taconic Hotel provided us with a beautiful setting and exceptional service for our wedding day. Would highly recommend it to anyone considering it for their wedding.

conic is a beautiful venue. It is charming, rustic yet modern, cozy, and warm. I love Kimpton hotels and have stayed at many of them across the country, so when we were trying to find a venue for our wedding in Manchester, the Taconic was my number one choice. The venue itself is wonderful but the Taconic’s staff members are worth more than gold!! From the moment we started communicating with Melissa, working with Melissa was a joy and was so easy because she’s truly a pro at what she does. She was very responsive to all of our questions, accommodating to our requests, and very organized. I had no concerns leading up to our wedding day and especially the day of our wedding because I trusted Melissa and knew that she would take care of everything (and of course, she did so perfectly). Jamaica was also wonderful to work with on our wedding day. I gave Melissa and Jamaica boxes and boxes of things that I wanted to use as decorations for the wedding but didn’t give them too much direction in terms of how I wanted things to look and be arranged. I knew that they’d be able to come up with amazing ideas themselves. They told me to take care of myself and not worry about a thing. They worked seamlessly with the other vendors. Everything looked absolutely stunning and I was all smiles all night!! Melissa and Jamaica really knew how to take care of every detail. Philip, the banquet hall manager, executed everything perfectly. The banquet staff and bartenders were very professional, awesome, friendly; service on our wedding day was impeccable. We had quite a few people with dietary restrictions. The Taconic kitchen was super accommodating, and all the food came out as requested. The food’s absolutely amazing! Our guests raved about how the food was one of the best that they’d ever had at a wedding (they still talk about it). Many thanks to Terrence (who’s so kind!) for all the help he gave us when we’d check in very late at night during our pre-wedding visits to Manchester. Even now, our family and friends keep on telling us that our wedding was one of the best weddings that they have attended!!! That's all thanks to the Taconic staff. We’d say YES again a MILLION times to having our wedding at the Taconic and we look forward to visiting again for years to come.

Working with Melissa and Anastasia was a dream throughout our entire planning process. They were always very responsive and delivered on everything that they promised. When we expressed our concern about going over budget, Melissa was so understanding and worked with us to find solutions that kept us under budget without compromising on the quality of the event. All of our events ran smoothly, the food was delicious and everyone on the staff that worked our events was attentive, thoughtful, and kind. All of my guests raved about their experience at The Taconic, and my husband and I were completely satisfied with our experience there. We’re looking forward to visiting Manchester and staying at The Taconic for years to come, and we highly recommend the hotel to anyone!

4 months before our wedding, which was a bride's worst nightmare. But Melissa at the Taconic was just what we needed--she was patient, she was super responsive, and she had a great can-do attitude that gave me hope! We had lost our deposit on the original venue, so our budget was tight. Melissa never made us feel bad about that, and instead helped us brainstorm ways to get us the wedding we wanted. And what a perfect weekend it was. We had our ceremony, reception, and day-after brunch at the Taconic. The space is immaculately cared for. The ceremony space is right by the road, but we hardly noticed the traffic. And my family loved that the Taconic had little cottages they could rent instead of staying in hotel rooms. But most importantly, the service at the Taconic is impeccable. I didn't realize how important this was going to be when I was first searching for venues, but looking back, it should have been one of the very first things I asked about. Melissa and Jamaica were insanely organized and proactive about all my wedding details. I didn't have a planner, and didn't need one! During the wedding weekend itself, Jamaica was my personal hero. She ran the rehearsal, coordinated the flower and chair deliveries, stage managed the entire event, made sure we always had something to eat, and kept everything on time. She was always there when we needed her, but never intrusive--she has great poise and reads people well. Moreover, the dinner service from all of the wait staff was amazing. In the end, I am so thankful that my wedding ended up at the Taconic. These folks are consummate professionals, and they do whatever it takes to make your day flawless. My guests raved about the food. And I was so happy that on the day of my wedding, I didn't have a worry in the world.

The food was delicious! The hotel staff went out of their way to make us feel special. Melissa is absolutely amazing! She helped us coordinate and organize everything effortlessly even though we live 3 hours away! She answered countless emails promptly and helped guide us through the process. The day before the wedding, she walked us through how the ceremony would run and where dinner would be after. On the day of the wedding, Melissa calmed all of our nerves. She had everything we needed from the bouquet down to an extra safety pin to help bustle my dress when the hook broke! She checked in with us throughout the night to make sure everything was exactly how we wanted it. All of the staff at the Taconic went above and beyond for our special weekend and we could not have asked for a better place to host our wedding! We will deifnitely be visiting the Taconic on our 1 year anniversary!!

y for us and our sizable crowd. We were married on the lawn, with cocktail hour on the terrace. We lucked out with a 75 degree late October day, which allowed us to fully enjoy the outdoor spaces and foliage. We were also able to keep our bars on the terrace, which left more room for dancing inside. The Taconic team helped arrange our decor beautifully for the reception. The food and service were also great! Our after party headed to the Copper Grouse for late night snacks, drinks and fire pit. Wouldn’t change a thing!

That being said, the property pales in comparison to the care and attention I received. Each time I entered the Taconic, I was treated like absolute royalty! From the front desk, to the crew at the Copper Grouse, I was welcomed into the Taconic family with open arms! I hosted my ceremony, reception, after-party and brunch all on-site and I do not regret it one bit. Every detail was perfect. We had weather issues and had to move the cocktail hour inside the library and covered porch and I don't even think anyone noticed a change because even the back-up plan there is stunning. In terms of food, the candied bacon appetizer is still being talked about over a week later! The bartender and servers were all incredible and friendly. They gave my Boston/Rhode Island family such a warm welcome to Vermont! I had the absolute pleasure of working with Jamaica and Melissa and they are two of the loveliest women I've had the chance to encounter. Jamaica was prompt in responding to any issue I had with the room blocks and ensured that some of my friends who just missed the deadline by a few hours were taken care of. Melissa was easy to talk to and made me feel extremely comfortable. I could completely be myself around her and she made sure that my vision came true even when I did not have the words to explain what I wanted. Melissa also made my family feel wonderful when they came up for the tasting and they are still talking about how much they love her! After a long day of dancing, eating and drinking, I came back to find a beautifully decorated bridal suite complete with a personalized gift that was the perfect ending to my dream day. I had the perfect wedding experience because of the staff here and I could not recommend it enough. Now that everything is over, I find myself itching to go back just to see everyone that works there!

itality shown by all! Sarah Propester went above and beyond to accommodate all of our needs. The entire staff made us feel right at home. The hotel is so elegant, yet relaxed and unpretentious. We wanted our guests to feel like the Taconic would be a home away from home, and it totally was! We received rave reviews from all of our guests who stayed there! The staff was so easy to work with and had great ideas of how everything should go. At the same time, they weren't too intrusive, and didn't try to take over the proceedings. They filled all the little details so we wouldn't have to worry about them: from having the (amazing) soup filled in cute little cups instead of bowls, to the champagne & chocolate covered strawberries in our room, to turning on the fireplace in advance in our honeymoon suite. In short, they helped make my dream come true! The fact that Sarah and the staff handled EVERYTHING seamlessly behind the scenes, so we could just show up, not worry about ANYTHING, and just enjoy ourselves, definitely contributed to a PERFECT day!

John who works at the copper grouse is fantastic and all of my guests enjoyed meeting him-Superb service. The food was excellent. They have a new Chef and she did a fantastic job! She was the key to the event as all of the appetizers, dinner, and after party snacks were a hit. All of our guests raved about her beef brisket. Our cocktail hour was outside and so beautiful-favorite appetizer-Bacon on a stick! We also had late night snacks in the bar and that really made for a fun after-party. We are local to the area (met in high school in Manchester) and knew we wanted to get married in our hometown. We not only had limited time to plan a wedding, but were also on a budget. We contacted the then newly opened Taconic only 6 months prior to our wedding and in retrospect, we were so lucky to have found them! Sarah Protester, the hotel’s wedding coordinator, responded immediately to our inquiry and within a week, she established a proposal that gave us exactly what we wanted and was within our budget (which we did not think would be possible!). Sarah and the hotel accommodated our wishes to create a perfect event that fit our style. We wanted to combine rustic charm with elegance while also maintaining a casual vibe (i.e, fall cocktails prior to ceremony, an extended cocktail hour w/ live jazz, buffet dining but with up-scale food, signature cocktails w/ beer and wine instead of an open bar). The hotel provides full wedding planning services, access to the event space for the entire weekend (no other bridal party), ability to do both ceremony and reception on site, flexibility in bar and food options, table linens (can customize color scheme) and tableware, set-up/clean-up services, option for rehearsal dinner/after-party/brunch at hotel restaurant or ballroom space, and very competitive group room rates with an included complimentary night-of bridal suite. Our photographer met us early at the hotel to capture the bridesmaids getting ready. These photos were stunning and I recommend just doing all of your photos at the hotel (ie; first look, bridal party, family photos – they will come out great). Our ceremony was at 5pm outside on their green space and the view of the mountains made it special. We planned to have cocktail hour outside on the gorgeous terrace, but it started raining so it was quickly moved into the ‘backup’ space of the Solarium (essentially a delightfully oversized hallway outside of the ballroom) and this worked out fine. Our reception was in the ballroom with a dance floor in the center. The only real ‘problems’ we encountered during the event were things that will most likely be a non-issue in the future, as we were one of their first weddings (ie; small details missed - bar wasn’t fully stocked w/ glassware, forgot to announce things like dessert (which was on tables outside of the ballroom), some table #’s were switched around, etc). The food was exceptional, the coordination of everything impressive (Sarah does a fine job!), and the hotel amenities at the level of a 5-star hotel. We felt special the entire weekend, needs were met, and the bridal suite was so thoughtfully prepared. We recommend requesting a corner room - has fireplace, large bathroom w/ walk-in shower & stunning tub (good for getting ready pics!). Overall, the hotel is awesome and will make visitors to Manchester question staying anywhere else. Our guests absolutely loved it (most of whom are very well-traveled). We also love the Kimpton brand and this hotel does not disappoint - no nickel & diming – bicycles to just borrow, yoga gear in rooms, free wifi, complimentary cocktail hours, etc. Our wedding was beyond anything we could have imagined. We wish we could re-live it over and over again.

Many of my guests told me after the wedding that they would like to come back to the hotel since everything was so great! Taconic Hotel is a kind of place that might not impress you at first sight, but the longer you stay, the deeper you'll fall in love with. I love the details of the hotel. From the menu of food to the nice book collection in the library, you'll find how much love the staff have put into their services. I contacted Sarah Propester (the catering sales manager) three months ago and then quickly decided that we will have the most important day of our life at Taconic. I could never be any happier with this decision. Sarah was so organized and reliable. She handled everything with great care and made everything so much easier for us. Sarah helped with almost everything; she coordinated with my vendors, responded to my questions promptly, being flexible with all the changes and took care of my family and friends during the stay. I can't say enough thanks to her. Well, how do I end this review. Probably the longest review I've ever written. I'm happy that my husband and I chose Taconic to be the place that means so much to us. And it has become the place we'd like to visit again. We are very looking forward to our anniversary at Taconic next year!
