Kinfolk was absolutely fantastic. Our second line during our wedding was so much fun and they did a great job adjusting for the weather. Would Highly Recommend!
Kinfolk Brass Band was hands down one of the highlights of our entire wedding. Multiple guests told us it was the highlight of the night, and honestly, I get it. The energy, the ta...
lent, and the pure joy they brought to our second line was everything we could have hoped for. They were also incredibly flexible when the French Quarter Festival weekend made traditional street permits impossible - they figured out a route along sidewalks and a pedestrian-only street without missing a beat. We couldn't have asked for a better experience in the moment.
But I would be doing future couples a disservice if I didn't mention the communication, because it gave us SO much anxiety. In the weeks leading up to our wedding, we were completely unable to reach them despite trying everything (multiple phone numbers, various email addresses, texts, etc). We went nearly 4 full weeks without a single response, and we were left with serious doubt about whether they were going to show up at all. When you've paid thousands of dollars and your wedding is one month away, radio silence is not okay. They absolutely delivered on the day, and we would still recommend them for the experience alone but get every detail confirmed well in advance, and don't expect timely responses once you're booked. The performance is worth it, but the peace of mind is not included.
Kinfolk was the perfect second line band for our wedding! They were on time, full of energy, and played the best songs. They created such an amazing atmosphere and made the whole e...
xperience unforgettable.
Both of our families absolutely loved it and had so much fun celebrating the New Orleans tradition. It was my husband’s first second line, and Kinfolk made it incredibly special and memorable for him.
We are so grateful for their talent and professionalism. If you are planning a New Orleans wedding and want an authentic and unforgettable second line experience, Kinfolk is the band to book!
We hired Kinfolk Brass Band for my daughter’s wedding second line, and they absolutely exceeded every expectation. From the very first note, their energy was electric. Their vibra...
nt, joyful, and truly authentic New Orleans style makes them a "must have" at any New Orleans wedding.
The music was outstanding, and they have an incredible ability to pull everyone in. Our guests and onlookers couldn’t help but join the celebration. The MC deserves special recognition: he is phenomenal. Outgoing, engaging, and so much fun, he elevated the entire experience and kept the crowd energized the whole time.
This was a truly unique and unforgettable experience for our guests, and most especially for the bride and groom. Kinfolk Brass Band was punctual, professional, and gave us far more than we expected—serious bang for your buck. The cost was worth every penny.
There are honestly no negatives to mention. If you’re considering a second line or want a real New Orleans experience, do yourself a favor and book them. You will not regret it.
We hired Kinfolk Brass Band for our Second Line at our wedding in December 2025 and WOW —what an unforgettable experience! They showed up on time and came ready to bring the party....
The energy was electric, the music was infectious, and our entire crowd was instantly swept up in the fun. The Grand Marshal was fantastic and navigated us through traffic while keeping our guests dancing, laughing, and cheering the whole way. Our guests are still talking about it weeks later, and it was definitely one of our favorite moments of the night. Their energy and enthusiasm cannot be matched! Highly recommend!

irst note, they had our guests smiling, dancing, and fully immersed in the celebration.
Their musical talent is incredible, but what stood out just as much was their professionalism and ability to read the crowd. They kept the energy high, guided us smoothly through the route, and created a moment we and our guests will be talking about for years to come.
If you want a true New Orleans experience that brings joy, excitement, and unforgettable memories to your event, Kinfolk Brass Band is the way to go. They were a highlight of our wedding — we can’t recommend them enough!
We hired them for our second line and permit planning. Everything was perfect and the band was professional and so much fun!

g to our wedding day. Special thank you to Sarah who helped facilitate all the second line logistics and details. Her communication is fantastic, and she made the whole process SO easy!
Kinfolk Brass Band was perfect! We added on a pedi-cab for my grandparents, and everyone enjoyed the second line. I would highly recommend!
One of the most exciting aspects of doing a New Orleans wedding for us was the Second Line. Kinfolk came highly recommended and they didn't disappoint. What an awesome experience. ...
The music was great, our guests were raving about it, and in the aftermath of our wedding the Second Line was one of the most talked about aspects. We can't say enough good things about Kinfolk and we highly recommend them for your wedding band/Second Line needs.

ing, and they somehow snuck in quietly and waited in the back until the perfect moment to start playing! The musicians were phenomenal, and their team took care of the police escort and route planning which made everything super easy. We also rented parasols from them that worked out beautifully! 10/10 recommend using Kinfolk.

hat will last forever. I highly highly recommend working with them!
Our review of Kinfolk Brass Band I would say is extremely positive but with two fairly large concerns. First - Kinfolk was highly recommended to us for our Second Line parade for ...
a group of middle-agers from up north. And it would be an understatement to simply say all the guests loved the parade - everyone in our group roundly said it was one of the most unique and fun experiences they have ever participated in. Now two concerns that hopefully will help others in the future that are considering booking. The even larger concern now is that we shared this feedback with Kinfolk via e-mail before writing this review, but after a month they haven't responded. So that may be something to think about. Despite an AWESOME parade, the Master of Ceremonies repeatedly, and I mean repeatedly, goaded our guests for tips. Even worse, he followed our guests into our reception venue and continued to try to pass his hat until he was asked to leave. As he was leaving he continued to walk to everyone he passed with his hat. Our other local vendors witnessed this and strongly recommended we share this info with Kinfolk management as they had never seen anything like this before. Which we did, but did not receive any response. The thing is, we weren't going to add the Master of Ceremonies but were convinced to do so. I asked Kinfolk in advance about tipping the band and was told I could, but didn't have to because the performers are well compensated. I brought what I thought was a reasonable gratuity for the entire band, and stupidly handed it to the MOC. One of the reasons I wrote to Kinfolk was to ask them to make sure the MOC shared my group gratuity with the band members, but we'll never know as we didn't hear back. I would have gladly given as generous gratuity as required so our guests wouldn't be repeatedly goaded to tip both outside and inside the reception. Our experience is that we wish we would not have added the MOC as was recommended, because that just caused problems. Other than these issues - the parade was fantastic.
Kinfolk was a highlight of our vow renewal experience - it *literally* rained on our parade, but we still completed the route (and it was magical!)
Kinfolk was an excellent choice! They were very professional and played wonderful music while we did our second line walkabout. They were very affordable priced and even took care ...
of the police escort and permits for us as part of the payment. Would recommend to anyone looking for a great second line party experience.
I already knew they would be incredible but it was still amazing having them on my wedding day! Everyone enjoyed the second line and we danced all night! Thank you!
Kinfolk is a fine band. However, they casually rolled up a full 20 minutes late after our ceremony. This meant our guests were left awkwardly standing on the sidewalk while our ven...
ue flipped the space (the Second Line was meant to be a bridge between the ceremony and reception). There were no apologies or explanations. We had a fun time and the musicians were good, but considering we paid an extra $800 for the full-service option (they planned the route, permits, etc.) this was super disappointing.
We worked with Kinfolk Brass Band for our November 2023 wedding and we had the BEST experience. We opted for the full service package, including all permits and routing for our sec...
ondline parade, AND we had the BEST GRAND MARSHAL IN NEW ORLEANS -- Mr. Oliver "Squirt Man" Hunter! Rest in peace, you remarkable man!!
The company has a whole was easy to work with, the band was on-time and ready to go, they were so fun and sweet even in all the chaos, and they kept our guests going as we paraded through the French Quarter on a very busy Saturday! They even let our friend, a professional trumper player herself, to join them along the route! We highly recommend Kinfolk for their talents, reliability, professionalism, and above all A WILD GOOD TIME!!

mony to the cocktail hour. A little untraditional, but they were totally on board and really helped us kick off a high energy party. Plus they were so easy to book and work with. Do it!!!
I cannot recommend Kinfolk enough! We had their talent for a 50 person second line starting at 10PM from Palace Cafe to Pat Os. From day one, they handled the permit, police, and o...
rganization. They were there on time, dressed to impress, and we rented out bride and groom umbrellas through their company. The band was fun, talented, and not rushed. As a New Orleans native, this band is well known. Possibly more pricey than others, but you do not want to risk the quality. Choose this band.

e, so we were a 'No' on them at first. However, after thinking about making our wedding experience 'Complete' for our guests, we decided to get one. That said, we had a high-bar ... we wanted the BEST Second Line and the BEST Brass Band. And let me tell you---Kinfolk Brass Band was the cherry on top of our perfect day! We had them come in for the last ~30mins of our wedding (to shepherd the guests from the ball room out to the street for the afterparty) and they absolutely killed it (staying a bit longer because the vibes were high!). They solidified the realness for our authentic NOLA-style wedding. Our only regret was not having them for longer; however, they were perfect and ensured that we and our guests ended the night with a BANG! Thank you KBB - Y'all are the best!

Kinfolk was a huge hit for our second line from our wedding reception to Pat O's. They brought great energy and everyone had only positive things to say. Highly recommended!
We contacted Sarah from Kinfolk about a year in advance for our destination wedding in New Orleans. She was referred by our wedding planner who said "they were the best in New Orle...
ans". She couldn't have been more right!
Everything was seamless, from the route planning to the pedicabs for our older guests, to the incredible band and music. We literally had dozens of strangers join in on our second line as we marched through the French Quarter.
Our only complaint is that it was so fun, it felt like it went by so quickly! All of our guests said it was the most fun they've ever had at a wedding, but the best comment was from one of our parents who said "they checked off a bucket list item that they didn't know they had." Highly recommended!!

s that we added a Pedicab to our service for our second line - which never showed up but just be safe and confirm if you add anything last second. They made good on it after we spoke with them about it, A lot of our guests were out of town and by far this was their favorite moment in our wedding. Everyone had a blast and I will remember the experience that Kinfolk gave us for the rest of our lives. Can't speak highly enough of them and wish you all the best! We ran into our Grand Marshall during the halloween parade and he was absolutely killing it! Can't speak highly enough of the people at Kinfolk. Thank you!

Sarah was very responsive and accommodating as well during the booking process. They handled the permitting, security and everything. Highly recommend Kinfolk!
Kinfolk was awesome! We were from out of town and our guests could not stop talking about how amazing they were, totally got the party started.

My guests were blown away by the energy and fun that the Kinfolk Brass Band brought to our celebration. The music was infectious, and everyone was up and dancing, enjoying the lively atmosphere that only New Orleans can provide.
One thing that really stood out to me was the thoughtfulness of the Kinfolk Brass Band in providing petty cabs for my elderly guests, ensuring that no one was left out of the festivities. This level of care and attention to detail truly made our celebration all the more special.
I would highly recommend the Kinfolk Brass Band to anyone looking to add some New Orleans flair and fun to their event. They were an absolute pleasure to work with, and I can't thank them enough for helping to make our wedding day unforgettable. We may just have to bring them back for our anniversary!

hen dealing with an unexpected situation. Kinfolk was very quick to respond throughout booking and solidifying details. The responsiveness did decline after the wedding when we needed more information for the insurance company. The musicians were very sweet and attempted to stage a second line for our photographer, they were very prompt being on time and wrapping up at the scheduled time. Luckily we were able to get some staged pictures! We were really looking forward to this part of our day but unfortunately couldn’t experience it which is no fault of the vendor.
