Kinfolk was perfect for our wedding's second line parade! They were professional and engaging and creating a memorable experience for everyone at our wedding. We got the whole experience with permitting etc and it was completely worth it. They are the best of the best!

We knew hiring Kinfolk for our Second Line needs would be amazing, but we were still blown away by how awesome the experience was! Being from out of town it was wonderful we opted for Kinfolk to handle the permits and route for us. The experience was perfect and we still have guests raving about how much fun they had! Professional and prompt with responding to communication, created a great party atmosphere with our secondline, it was a great experience! I highly recommend!

We hired Kinfolk as our second line band for our wedding. What a talented group of people! They were so communicative, brought the party, and made memories for us and our wedding that will last forever. I highly highly recommend working with them!

Our review of Kinfolk Brass Band I would say is extremely positive but with two fairly large concerns. First - Kinfolk was highly recommended to us for our Second Line parade for a group of middle-agers from up north. And it would be an understatement to simply say all the guests loved the parade - everyone in our group roundly said it was one of the most unique and fun experiences they have ever participated in. Now two concerns that hopefully will help others in the future that are considering booking. The even larger concern now is that we shared this feedback with Kinfolk via e-mail before writing this review, but after a month they haven't responded. So that may be something to think about. Despite an AWESOME parade, the Master of Ceremonies repeatedly, and I mean repeatedly, goaded our guests for tips. Even worse, he followed our guests into our reception venue and continued to try to pass his hat until he was asked to leave. As he was leaving he continued to walk to everyone he passed with his hat. Our other local vendors witnessed this and strongly recommended we share this info with Kinfolk management as they had never seen anything like this before. Which we did, but did not receive any response. The thing is, we weren't going to add the Master of Ceremonies but were convinced to do so. I asked Kinfolk in advance about tipping the band and was told I could, but didn't have to because the performers are well compensated. I brought what I thought was a reasonable gratuity for the entire band, and stupidly handed it to the MOC. One of the reasons I wrote to Kinfolk was to ask them to make sure the MOC shared my group gratuity with the band members, but we'll never know as we didn't hear back. I would have gladly given as generous gratuity as required so our guests wouldn't be repeatedly goaded to tip both outside and inside the reception. Our experience is that we wish we would not have added the MOC as was recommended, because that just caused problems. Other than these issues - the parade was fantastic.

Kinfolk was a highlight of our vow renewal experience - it *literally* rained on our parade, but we still completed the route (and it was magical!)

Kinfolk was an excellent choice! They were very professional and played wonderful music while we did our second line walkabout. They were very affordable priced and even took care of the police escort and permits for us as part of the payment. Would recommend to anyone looking for a great second line party experience.

Kinfolk is a fine band. However, they casually rolled up a full 20 minutes late after our ceremony. This meant our guests were left awkwardly standing on the sidewalk while our venue flipped the space (the Second Line was meant to be a bridge between the ceremony and reception). There were no apologies or explanations. We had a fun time and the musicians were good, but considering we paid an extra $800 for the full-service option (they planned the route, permits, etc.) this was super disappointing.

We worked with Kinfolk Brass Band for our November 2023 wedding and we had the BEST experience. We opted for the full service package, including all permits and routing for our secondline parade, AND we had the BEST GRAND MARSHAL IN NEW ORLEANS -- Mr. Oliver "Squirt Man" Hunter! Rest in peace, you remarkable man!! The company has a whole was easy to work with, the band was on-time and ready to go, they were so fun and sweet even in all the chaos, and they kept our guests going as we paraded through the French Quarter on a very busy Saturday! They even let our friend, a professional trumper player herself, to join them along the route! We highly recommend Kinfolk for their talents, reliability, professionalism, and above all A WILD GOOD TIME!!

I cannot recommend Kinfolk enough! No NOLA wedding is complete without a second line and Kinfolk really delivers! We were married at City Park and did our second line from the ceremony to the cocktail hour. A little untraditional, but they were totally on board and really helped us kick off a high energy party. Plus they were so easy to book and work with. Do it!!!

I cannot recommend Kinfolk enough! We had their talent for a 50 person second line starting at 10PM from Palace Cafe to Pat Os. From day one, they handled the permit, police, and organization. They were there on time, dressed to impress, and we rented out bride and groom umbrellas through their company. The band was fun, talented, and not rushed. As a New Orleans native, this band is well known. Possibly more pricey than others, but you do not want to risk the quality. Choose this band.

Their headline says it all: "An unforgettable experience". For context, my now-wife and I didn't originally want a second line. We're from the South and have done a million of these, so we were a 'No' on them at first. However, after thinking about making our wedding experience 'Complete' for our guests, we decided to get one. That said, we had a high-bar ... we wanted the BEST Second Line and the BEST Brass Band. And let me tell you---Kinfolk Brass Band was the cherry on top of our perfect day! We had them come in for the last ~30mins of our wedding (to shepherd the guests from the ball room out to the street for the afterparty) and they absolutely killed it (staying a bit longer because the vibes were high!). They solidified the realness for our authentic NOLA-style wedding. Our only regret was not having them for longer; however, they were perfect and ensured that we and our guests ended the night with a BANG! Thank you KBB - Y'all are the best!

Kinfolk was amazing for our wedding! We got married in October 2022 and Kinfolk was one of the big highlights of our big day. They were fantastic and easy to work with. Highly highly recommend! They were a blast and brought the energy for the end of our wedding.

We contacted Sarah from Kinfolk about a year in advance for our destination wedding in New Orleans. She was referred by our wedding planner who said "they were the best in New Orleans". She couldn't have been more right! Everything was seamless, from the route planning to the pedicabs for our older guests, to the incredible band and music. We literally had dozens of strangers join in on our second line as we marched through the French Quarter. Our only complaint is that it was so fun, it felt like it went by so quickly! All of our guests said it was the most fun they've ever had at a wedding, but the best comment was from one of our parents who said "they checked off a bucket list item that they didn't know they had." Highly recommended!!

The second line is incredible. We got recommended Kinfolk thru our venue at the Hotel Saint Vincent - Sarah and the band were really nice and flexible to work with, our one thing is that we added a Pedicab to our service for our second line - which never showed up but just be safe and confirm if you add anything last second. They made good on it after we spoke with them about it, A lot of our guests were out of town and by far this was their favorite moment in our wedding. Everyone had a blast and I will remember the experience that Kinfolk gave us for the rest of our lives. Can't speak highly enough of them and wish you all the best! Working with the Kinfolk Brass Band for our NOLA wedding second line was an absolute highlight. From our initial contact, their professionalism and enthusiasm were remarkable, making the planning process seamless. We had seen kinfolk perform at Nola Art bar and absolutely loved their energy and knew they were the band we wanted to higher for our second line. The second line was one of the highlights of our wedding and guests absolutely loved it! The booking company was also able to help coordinate permits and the police escorts.

We hired Kinfolk for our destination wedding in April. I'm so glad we did!! We had them lead guests out of our reception to end the night on a great note. The group was very professional and outgoing. Most of our guests were not from the area so they were all surprised at what was happening and had a blast parading through the streets. Our guests are still talking about how much fun it was to experience an authentic New Orleans tradition. Unfortunately we were not able to have our Second Line as planned due to another vendors mistake. I can comment on the responsiveness of Kinfolk and the musicians professionalism when dealing with an unexpected situation. Kinfolk was very quick to respond throughout booking and solidifying details. The responsiveness did decline after the wedding when we needed more information for the insurance company. The musicians were very sweet and attempted to stage a second line for our photographer, they were very prompt being on time and wrapping up at the scheduled time. Luckily we were able to get some staged pictures! We were really looking forward to this part of our day but unfortunately couldn’t experience it which is no fault of the vendor.

Fantasic!!! The best!!!! One of the best to use for a second line. They were the first thing I secured even before the venue or date. If you need a second line they truly are the best. Everyone loved them and it was an unforgettable experience in our destination wedding.

Kinfolk was absolutely phenomenal for our second line! They were prompt, professional, and one of the easiest vendors to work with! The go to brass band for all of your second line needs! We are so happy we did a second line. We are from Chicago and did a destination wedding in New Orleans. This was the highlight and kick start to our wedding. Our guests have never experienced anything like this and never in our lives do we ever anticipate having a parade in our honor again. We hired kinfolk to lead our second line as our wedding exit and it was perfect! Most of our guests were from out of town and they loved every minute of it. They sounded amazing and I love how they interacted with us and the crowd. I worked with Sarah to book them and she was so helpful and very responsive.

I didn’t because I was on top of it, and in New Orleans when you are that prepared things actually get forgotten about. They know the system and the people and how to get things done, it’s worth the extra hundred bucks to let them take care of it all. They are amazing and highly highly recommend!

For years, I'd imagined my wedding with a second line, even after I moved away from NOLA. When we decided to have our wedding in NOLA, it was the deciding factor, and I knew I had to get the best of the best - KINFOLK!!! Look no further if you are searching. Kinfolk brought the party! What an amazing group of musicians!! We hired the jazz trio for the ceremony and the jazz band for our reception. Then for our grand finale, the second line band. They were spot on with the songs we chose and the timing for the ceremony. Our guests danced the night away at the reception raving about the band and then the second line, you don’t get more New Orleans than that! The second line band went above and beyond to make our dreams come true. We waited 1 1/2 years due to COVID restrictions to have this wedding and our guests (especially the men, believe it or not) said it was the best wedding they had ever been to. THE BEST PART OF OUR WEDDING! Not only a fun, unique way to celebrate your wedding, but the guys over at Kinfolk made it so easy to schedule and take care of you during your wedding planning stress. We had to reschedule our wedding 3 times due to COVID and Hurricane Ida, and they made it so easy every single time. If you are considering doing a secondline in NOLA, HIGHLY recommend these guys. Kinfolk is a MUST do for your wedding! We hired the brass band for our second line and they were a HIT! The band was on time, waiting for us at our church, ready to strike up the music. The musicians are so talented, and were a real treat for our guests- we were all from out of town. Our wedding planner took care of filing permits, police escorts, and the exact route. We knew we wanted to start at St. Louis Cathedral and end at Pat O'Brien's, but the wedding planner took care of the rest. Our wedding planner recommended Kinfolk, but the Knot reviews helped us feel even more confident in the recommendation. The band was loud, energetic, and sounded great. One of the highlights of our wedding was the second line!

My wife and I got married last weekend at the Chicory in New Orleans, and Kinfolk provided an unforgettable second line out of the venue. The transition between our wedding band and the Brass Band was flawless, and we second lined out the venue down Fulton Alley. Kinfolk played some of their catchy original tunes, as well as some pop favorites from Bruno Mars to Whitney Houston, and it could not have been more perfect! Many of our guests were in from out of town and had either never been to New Orleans, or had never seen a second line, and they were absolutely blown away by this band. Everyone could not stop talking about how much fun they had and how great the horns were. It truly elevated an already magical evening to the next level! You need this band at your next event!

Well Kinfolk helped set the tone for the evening at our daughter's recent New Orleans wedding. We chose to do the second line to lead our wedding guests from the courtyard wedding to the reception venue. Hiring Kinfolk is a MUST for your wedding. My guests and ourselves were blown away by their talent. We hired their brass band for our second line parade and also a 4-piece jazz band for our reception. We were told by our guests that our wedding was one of the most unique weddings they had been to, because of the second line parade and live jazz music. I worked with Sarah at Kinfolk and she did a fantastic job with answering all the questions I had. The 4-piece jazz band performed our first dance song and it was incredible.
