About this vendor
King Manor Museum is a historic wedding venue located in Jamaica, NY. Over 200 years old, the manor became the property of Federalist politician and passionate anti-slavery advocate Rufus King in 1805. The house and grounds were fully renovated under King’s watchful eye, and the formal dining room and entertainment room were built in 1810. The estate was a working farm and residence through several generations of Kings until it became a historical landmark. Today, it continues to pay tribute to the extraordinary life and work of its founder as a museum and event space. King was drawn to the property because of its country feel just minutes from the hustle and bustle of New York City. Couples looking to wed surrounded by antique accents will also appreciate the blend of urban and rural that they will find at this beautiful venue.
Accommodating up to 100 people in the kitchen, formal dining room, and entertainment room, King Manor Museum is ideal for intimate weddings. These beautiful rooms are set with vintage furniture, Federalist Period design elements, and lovingly-preserved historical artifacts. This atmosphere of warmth and nostalgia invites you to reflect on the past as you and your partner take this bold step into your future. The wooden building creates natural acoustics for your musical interludes, and luxurious furnishings add a charming ambiance. While food and drink can’t be served in these period rooms, refreshments and hors d’oeuvres can be enjoyed in the foyer or on the grounds. The backyard can accommodate up to 200 people, where you can set up a tent for your ceremony or reception.
King Manor Museum can be rented for small ceremonies, wedding showers, anniversary parties, and outdoor receptions. The North Kitchen makes for a perfect get-ready suite or storage space as you prepare for your big day. A small parking lot is also available for you and your guests to avoid the challenge of finding street parking in New York City. Situated on the way to Long Island, this venue offers easy access to the unforgettable sites of New York City as well as multiple airports.
