He even commented, he wanted to spend some extra time on us, past his contracted window b/c you don't get these types of skies very often! That was pretty awesome to hear. I never stressed once about photography, as Michel is so prepared and organized. His timeline was amazing and so helpful! He IMMEDIATELY responded to my emails and was VERY quick to get back to me with excellent attention to detail, understanding of what I would need on the day of my wedding, and offering to support me as I had not even chosen my venue/even visited Charleston. NO other photographer displayed the level of professionalism that Michel displayed. I am usually on top of most details and to find someone that understood the urgency of how I work and to exceed my expectation is also VERY hard to find. Michel consulted me every step of the way. Scott and I decided to visit Charleston to scope out the area and Michel provided a list of places to visit and then we had a consultation to discuss where we wanted to get married and what shots we wanted to have the day of. I sent over an Itinerary and PowerPoint and he thoughtfully provided feedback that supported my organization and planning on the day off. Like for Real!!!!!????!! Amazing! Michel already gave me immense confidence and trust that he would provide photos to cherish for life. He consistently confirmed this over and over during the process (which helped my anxiety). He understood the importance of having him on our day. We were supposed to get rain and even before our wedding he helped us to plan an alternative plan with promises of excellent photos if needed. Luckily the weather held out! Michel was early, so kind, positive, and confident and helped organize everyone before I arrived. Michel captured our wedding with utmost professionalism! He kept us laughing, providing a plan for our photo session throughout Magnolia Plantations, and encouraged me to relax to get better shots. He crawled on the ground with Fire Ants, squatted in the bushes to get more artistic shots and was SO patient!! He also carried around his supportive photography lights throughout the Park and worked his butt off to make sure we were getting captivating pictures! Michel also was flexible to split our time and even worked longer than we hired him for so that we could capture some sunset shots!!! Again, Michel was early, carried his supportive photography lights throughout downtown and laid on the ground many times to get the PERFECT SHOT! We have ALREADY seen some of his pictures prior to him even editing them and OHHHHHH MMYYYY GOSH!! I would love love love to do more photoshoot sessions with Michel in the future as he is not just an EXCELLENT AND TALENTED photographer…which he is. Michel is incredibly kind, soooo funny, so very professional, and takes his work extremely serious. Scott and I feel incredibly blessed to have met Michel and to have had him capture our Wedding. I changed my mind about things mid session, Michel was very accommodating. For instance, it was SO windy at the lighthouse, we took the first look and then went back to the Sonesta. Michel was very aware of the time and had intentions of capturing the most he could in his time with us. At one point during the reception, my hubsand and I (with Michel and my brother) went down onto the beach and got BEAUTIFUL sunset pictures. Simply stunning. My advice for future brides: know what you want and who you want in your pictures. Michel will do his best to make it all happen. He is flexible, fun, and talented and I would recommend him to anyone!

that week, or not at all. Michel immediately cleared his busy schedule to make it happen two days later. The 2.5 hour outdoor shoot in downtown Charleston went perfectly. Michel showed up with two cameras and two lights, and I showed up with my mom, mother in law, and two bridesmaids. As Michel coached me through a series of stunning, creative poses, they helped arrange my long train over a white sheet we had put the ground to keep my dress clean, fixed my hair and handed me my bouquet when asked. At the end of the shoot, Michel promised me at least ten gorgeous edited photos to choose from to display at my reception, and the rest later on, along with my actual wedding photos and video. Who else could pull that off on such short notice? I selected Michel Berda as my wedding photographer within the same hour that I met him at a wedding expo last August. I was first impressed by his credentials: he was the only licensed photographer there who had 30 years of experience photographing over 500 weddings, and he had won a Couple's Choice Award on Wedding Wire for the past 3 years (the 100+ reviews will tell you why) as well as other awards on other wedding websites. Next, I looked through his sample photo albums and noticed his great taste in photo locations, well-chosen lighting and edits, and creativity of poses. As I spoke with him, I could tell that his fun, energetic personality would greatly ease the stress of photoshoots, planning, and my wedding day in general, while his clear directions and detailed day-of timeline for capturing photos and videos would maximize logistical efficiency and minimize my photo regrets. That bridal portrait session confirmed every good thing I already thought about Michel, and the day-of photography and videography timeline shows me how he will capture not just a few precious moments, but the whole story of my wedding day. I'm so happy to know that when my wedding is over, I can relive the whole day anytime through the comprehensive video and photo albums. Thank you, Michel!

ric approach to photography is one I highly recommend to all seeking a photographer who is friendly, professional, and artistic all at once. Admittedly, I am not a huge fan of having my picture taken (who is?), but Michel has such a wonderfully easy going personality that you can't help but feel comfortable while he works with you on your special day. Don't let his relaxed demeanor fool you though, when it comes to the business and organizational aspect of his work Michel couldn't possibly be more professional. He worked extensively with my wife and I to create a timeline for our wedding day that not only suited our needs and desires, but made the entire day run more smoothly and efficiently. We truly could not be happier with Michel's professionalism, positive attitude, and all around hard work. He really does do everything possible to ensure things run smoothly, and we never for a moment doubted that we were working with the best of the best.

- I brought my mom, my mother in law, sister in law, and two of my best friends and we all met downtown. We had a fabulous time!! Michel knew all of these wonderful places in Charleston to take gorgeous pictures. My entire "party" also had a complete blast with him. He definitely kept us entertained and knew what he was doing. try. Michel emailed me the next day to say I had won and I was so excited! I believe this was in august of 2016 and my dress wouldn't be ready (it still needed to come in, get altered, etc) until at least March..Michel said no problem and to let him know when was a good time for me. We decided for a date in early April. As that date approached, I saw heavy rain and 40 mph winds in the forecast! I couldn't stand the thought of damaging my dress before my wedding.. and I emailed Michael in a panic to change the date. We decided to change them to the next day, which had no rain in the forecast. Both days ended up being dry (although windy!) but Michel didn't give me any grief about changing the date. We went to the outskirts of Boone Hall for an hour and then met downtown to take a few more photos as the sun set. We even went into a hotel lobby to take some last shots once the sun was gone. I have only seen two teaser photos so far, but I'm so looking forward to getting to share my bridal portraits with my friends, family, husband, and anyone else who cares to see them after our June 24 wedding! , IMPORTANT. We did not realize how much minutes matter, especially in a late afternoon wedding (when the entire wedding only lasts a few hours...). You are pulled in every direction, and trying to greet both family and close friends, and the time simply disappears. Michel prepped us for this, prepared a meticulous schedule & list for photos, and stuck to it. I think that if we had a photographer who was more casual, we would not have gotten half the great photos we did (with the sun setting so fast). Also, on the wedding day, we received countless compliments about how Michel 'obviously knew what he was doing,' guiding the wedding party into poses that were both creative and memorable. We learned (through prior experience) that everyone 'can be a photographer," so be careful. Just b/c they have a camera Doesn't make them a photographer - especially for your special event. Photography really is Mr. Berda's passion, and his quality product reflects that. He is also fairly structured, so if you want loosey goosey, make sure to discuss that on the front end. For us, that structure gave us fantastic results. Would use him again, and would recommend to friends/family. (Oh, and we had some craazy family--He was great & very patient with them all!)

Michel offered us two photographers, one of which he had to pay himself but it was free for us. Michel’s services turned out to be phenomenal and we couldn’t have been happier as Donovan and Harold were very nice and amazing people who shared the joy of our wedding day, were on time, very understanding, with sense of humor, patient and flexible with changes that came during the day.

He showed up early and did not charge for the extra hours that he worked. He worked the crowd and took pictures of everything that I requested on a list that I gave him prior to the wedding. After the wedding, within a few days, he sent us a few pictures then a week after that we were featured on his blog with additional pictures. Within a month of the wedding we were able to view all of our pictures online and then we received our dvds/cds in the mail within the same week. It was great to not have to wait months for our pictures. I would definitely recommend him to other brides but make sure you complete your must have picture list and get all the photos that you want the day of your wedding.
