Say 'I do' with the sparkling river as your backdrop on the manicured ceremony lawn. This area features 100 white padded chairs for your guests and centerpiece decor. Two get-ready rooms are available for your wedding party prior to the ceremony. For your reception meal and celebration, the James River Grand Ballroom showcases the beautiful setting with its floor-to-ceiling windows. This spacious and glamorous room can accommodate up to 250 guests, complete with a dance floor and DJ table. The Burwell Ballroom can host up to 150 guests and extends to an outdoor lawn for warm summer evenings. Kingsmill Resort is a full-service venue with a passionate and dedicated event staff. The skilled catering team will meet with you to learn about your unique tastes and preferences and create a custom menu that will wow your guests. The bartending crew can supply signature cocktails, fine wines, and spirits for your reception. and reassuring. Which made the entire planning process feel seamless. Her expertise with local vendors, set-up, and overall coordination was invaluable. On the big day, I had zero stress when it came to logistics. Danielle handled everything with ease, allowing me to soak up the moment. One of the biggest perks of Kingsmill is that they take care of so many key details: space, chairs, linens, catering. All provided in an elegant and professional way, while still offering plenty of room for customization. Kingsmill’s reputation speaks for itself. Every time we told someone where we were getting married, their faces lit up with excitement and comments like, “Oooh, very nice!” Our family and friends anticipated something special, and Kingsmill more than delivered. It truly felt like a grand affair! We also chose to stay in the Estate on property for our wedding weekend, and it was absolutely worth it. Not only was the home stunning, but it made everything convenient. Our rehearsal dinner was held right there, and out-of-town guests loved that everything was centralized. For many, all they needed was two Uber rides - to and from the airport. Between the amenities, beautiful setting, and endless activities (the lazy river was a big hit!), there was something for everyone. Personally, I cherished sneaking away to relax at the Estate’s private pool before the festivities began, a rare but wonderful calm before the joy of the weekend. Kingsmill gave us the perfect balance of luxury, convenience, and celebration. We’re so grateful we chose it as our wedding venue!

I'm giving this 1 star ONLY because the person called Director of Catering and Convention service CINTIA HUGHES had an appointment with us at 2pm to give us a tours. We were takin...

g in consideration to celebrate our wedding in this place. I was thinking maybe have a membership with this resort and all that but not anymore .This lady did not show up to our meeting. So unprofessional, not even a call to excuse herself. Front desk person tried to call her to different places and no answer from her. I was taking in consideration this place but now for sure I don’t. Making my family and I waste 4 hours of our time ( including my driving back and for ) definitely left a sour taste about this place and wedding organization. I will not trust in other services if this is how we started our first contact.

Kingsmill was a beautiful venue! The food was fantastic for our rehearsal dinner and bridal luncheon, and the guys in our wedding party had a fantastic time golfing the day before ...

the wedding. The staff was terribly hard to get in touch with the entire planning process. We had the estate house, 2 cottages, and MANY hotel rooms being booked on top of having our rehearsal dinner and bridal luncheon there, and it was impossible to get in touch with someone. We would call and leave voicemails with nobody to return them, or send emails and hear nothing back. Finally when it was go time, we got SOME support, but after escalating up to the general manager. Overall the venue and food was fantastic, but planning was stressful and less ideal for two families spending tens of thousands of dollars for a weekend.

ion stars and a million dollars for their flexibility, organization, and brilliant ideas. The only reason I am giving 4 stars is due to value. There were some aspects I do believe were not fairly priced. I was extremely pleased with our wedding package (we did the station style-highly recommend!). However, I was informed that some of the passed hors d'ovours ran out during cocktail hour, which was disappointing, and that they were being passed with no napkins or utensils. We added on an "antipasto display" to our rehearsal dinner. It ended up being a medium sized charcuterie board that cost $590. In that aspect, I was disappointed in pricing. However, the venue is absolutely beautiful and the staff is amazing. Before booking, I would just be clear on what you are getting and what you are paying. My guests loved the fact that they got to enjoy the resort amenities all weekend long and we really made it more than just a wedding, but an experience for our guests thanks to the amazing grounds of the Kingsmill!

er ballroom in front of a beautiful wall of windows looking out over the river. The cocktail space was sizeable, so no one felt crowded while the room was being flipped for the reception. Our coordinator, Carla, was fantastic! She always answered emails and never made me feel uncomfortable when I had any questions. The food was great and the cake was included in the service as well. We are looking forward to going back to the resort next year to enjoy the location even more.

quirky requests. I emailed my coordinators SO many questions and their responses were always timely and helpful. My husbands favorite part? The FOOD! It was AMAZING! We’re still getting comments from our friends and family about how great it was! Kingsmill, 10/10, is my top venue to recommend for anyone’s dream location to say ‘I do!’

I did not have my wedding at Kingsmill Resort because in my opinion they cost more than they were worth. As of fall 2015, the resort had a $14,000 food and drink minimum plus a $2,...

500 cost for a wedding planner. If you use an outside wedding planner you still have to pay them $2,000 for "coordination services," and not having a wedding planner isn't an option. What's more, despite beautiful pictures, when we went to tour Kingsmill we saw that it badly needed some TLC. The ballroom was dark, and the outer terrace had some mildew and burnt out lanterns. It is clear that it was a magnificent space at one point, and if you're strongly considering Kingsmill I encourage you to tour it-- the physical problems we saw could be easily fixed and may be by the time you read this review. Plusses for the venue are many. The sales manager, Kaitlin, was very friendly and responsive. They are a comprehensive package, and even include room blocks and a honeymoon suite. Overall, I think it would have been a low-stress venue to work with, if only they cleaned up a bit and lowered the price.
