Kinky Spigot and The Welders Band

We had a few friends and family members who are critical musicians, and every single one of them told us how impressed they were with the band. So many other guests commented on how fun and talented Kinky Spigot was! For our first dance, when we asked for a difficult mash-up of a slow classic and then a fun pop song, they replied with "How cool, this will be fun!" and did a perfect rendition. Definitely recommend hiring Kinky Spigot & the Welders!!

The dance floor was full all night. We had been at several events where the band played and we were just waiting for an occasion to hire them ourselves. Kinky Spigot was a huge part of the evening's success- they created such fun and lively energy and we were so happy to have you guys there! Kinky Spigot was really our first and only choice.

My husband and I are not into conventional pop music, we're huge Phish and Grateful dead fans & wanted to incorporate that into our wedding which Kinky Spigot took to the next level for us! They learned a GD and Phish song for our ceremony as well as a Phish song for our first dance. They agreed to have a keyboard player at the ceremony in addition to a guitar player. We also had them play blue grass at the cocktail hour which the guests all loved and thought was very different from any other wedding they had been to. But then they really surprised us by playing Phish interludes as the guests were being seated for dinner. That personalization just made our night and completely blew us away since that was 100% their doing! A beautiful surprise for us. And for the non-Phish fans at our wedding...people could not stop raving about Kinky Spigot! The talent, professionalism and showmanship is second to none. They played a variety of music and kept everyone on the dance floor. This band really helped make our wedding day unique, personal and magical. Music is so important to us as a couple and it was essential for that to come through at our wedding and they delivered. Could not recommend these guys high enough! A must book for whatever your music taste!

To hit on the highlights: 1) Their day-of performance was absolutely phenomenal - I know this is going to sound like a broken record given other reviews, but 10+ people commented on how this was easily the best wedding band they had ever seen, and several said they would pay to see the band play not at a wedding. Watch their demo video on youtube if you aren't sure. 2) Prior to the day-of, the band was incredibly easy to work with. Early in wedding planning, this is something that in all honesty I didn't pay enough attention to, and while some vendors caused us stress down the road, Kinky Spigot was the polar opposite. Every time we spoke prior to the wedding, Yoni and Nadav were calm, reassuring, and totally willing to help us achieve our vision (even when we weren't 100% sure what that vision was). We oscillated on several topics, but they were always flexible willing to accommodate, and more importantly it was clear throughout that they had everything under control. 3) Extra requests: this is less generally applicable but speaks to how great they were to work with. In addition to performing during our cocktail hour and reception, we wanted large speaker set-ups at both at the entrance to our venue and at the ceremony so we could play music from an iPad. The band was able to help set that up and work with our venue so that everything went off without a hitch on the day of. Bottom line: I can't recommend this band highly enough. Really, truly, nothing but positive things to say about our entire experience with Kinky Spigot.

wedding band ever. They played Stevie Wonder and Justin Bieber, Frank Sinatra and Jay-Z, Whitney Houston and Blur. And all in a big band way. They kept the rhythm going and everyone was on the dance floor. As the bride, I rarely left it all night long! These guys are so easy-going and flexible. My husband and I hired one of their acoustic solo guitarists to perform the instrumentals for our ceremony and they were happy to learn new music that had great meaning for us. They know what they’re doing; all we did were pick out a bunch of songs that we absolutely wanted to hear (which was really difficult for us since we loved so many of the songs on their list), make a few requests, and let Nadav (the band leader and master of ceremonies) do the rest!

As music lovers, we wanted a band that looked, felt and sounded like a band you would go and see in concert; a band that would play covers but with their own twist. That is EXACTLY what Kinky Spigot and the Welders did and MORE. They not only blew us away but guests were coming up to us all night raving that they were the BEST wedding band they had ever heard. They made our party an absolute blast and we couldn't have been happier with our choice.

When my wife and I started planning well over a year ago, we decided music was the by far the most important element of any fun wedding. We reached out to the Kinky Spigot, and their band manager, Yoni, got back to us immediately. Within a few very responsive and friendly phone calls, we were absolutely sold. They drove all the way down from Brooklyn to our outdoor farm wedding in southeastern Massachusetts - and absolutely crushed it. So it's safe to assume they are good for any venue, indoor or outdoor. Their young, fun and incredibly talented with music that works for everyone in attendance. We asked them to learn two pretty complicated songs for our dances, and they nailed both of them. Again, can't say enough positive things about these guys and girls. Book them now.

Once we watched Kinky Spigot's promo video and read through their eclectic, extensive playlist, we knew we had found our band. Unfortunately, when we inquired about booking them for our wedding, we quickly learned that they were already hired for another event. After a week of investigating other options, I turned to my husband and said, "This may sound crazy, but can we change our wedding date to Friday? I don't want another band." My husband looked and me and said, "I don't either. Let's do it." It might have been the best decision we made concerning our wedding. Kinky Spigot is not a wedding band; they are musicians who happen to play weddings. From the first notes of the acoustic guitar played during our ceremony, it was clear we made the right choice. Following the ceremony, we had requested a 3-piece jazz ensemble during our cocktail hour. Sensing the aesthetics of our venue, the band manager approached my husband and asked, "Would it be okay if we kept it more upbeat and funky?" Yes! That impromptu adjustment really set the tone for the evening. After playing songs they learned specifically for our first dance and parent dances, Kinky Spigot then let our guests know that this wasn't going to be any ordinary wedding. For the rest of the night, they played a mix of Motown, R&B, Funk, 90s Hip-hop, and some newer alternative favorites. The dance floor was packed with everyone, from our youngest friends to our oldest relatives. Immediately after our guests congratulated us on our marriage, the next words out of their mouths were either, "This band is awesome!" or "Where did you find this band?" Kinky Spigot was so good that, in all honesty, we've discussed hiring them for a private event, for no other reason than to get a chance to hear them play again. Book them.

They also play music for your cocktail hour in different ensembles, such as a jazz quartet (which we hired) and a bluegrass band. The band was easy to work with and planning went without a hitch. You want your party to be fun, right? You want all your guests to get on the dance floor and stay all night, right? Hire this band. I can't say enough great things about them!

Yoni, their client manager, was very responsive to our needs, quick to offer advice when needed and willing to work with us to customize their usual offering. Super flexible, super accommodating, and most important the music was fantastic. And their fee was as much as 25% less than some of the 'comparable' bands we initially interviewed. My dad wanted to sing he and my mom's wedding song at our wedding and Kinky Spigot worked with him to make this arguably one of the best parts of our wedding. He was able to attend a rehearsal and rehearse his big number with the band and they even worked out some cute dance moves for him and the back up singer. At first I wasn't crazy about the whole idea, but since we picked Kinky Spigot and they were able to prepare with him, the whole thing was just fantastic. I would hire them again in a heartbeat!!

From the instrumental guitar during our ceremony that was the perfect accent to the most memorable moment in our lives, to the bluegrass band they formed during the cocktail hour, everything these guys did was fantastic. And the band itself, well, when they came on stage they turned our wedding of the century into the party of the century. Hiring Kinky Spigot and his crazy Welders for your wedding will be the best decision you made since saying "sure, what the hell, let's get married!" Did I mention the horn section jammed on ‘When The Saints Go Marching In’ as they escorted us to a giant bonfire in a field? Yep, that happened.
