difficult and confusing time. The last time we had to reschedule, Patty was not available because she was booked up. I had paid her up front, in full, AHEAD OF TIME - in 2020. When I requested (at least twice) a refund (or even a partial refund since I paid her ahead of schedule), she never responded back. She kept the entire $4,000 without one word. Make sure your dates/plans are solid or else you could end up like I did, out $4,000.

We weren't able to meet before the day due to our being located so far away, but she touched base frequently to check in on progress and planning, get to know each other before we spent the actual day together, and ask for our insight on what was most important to us day of so she could be sure to get those images. She was also helpful in making recommendations regarding sequencing of photo events to ensure the best amount of photo time and time enjoying our event. Seperately, Patty suggested some great other vendors based on her experience at other weddings, which was so helpful. We highly recommend Patty / Kivalo!

15 months prior to our wedding and her communication was excellent. The quoting process was simple, making payments was easy, and she started to get to know us as the bride and groom right away. Patty learned about our story as a couple, our priorities for the photographs and the wedding day in general, and helped us early on with building the right timeline for our wedding day to allow everything to happen seamlessly. It was great to tap into Patty's expertise and her recommendations were spot-on. On our wedding day, she was a pleasure to work, fun and helpful. I was thrilled that we got through our First Look, bridal party and family photos so efficiently in the afternoon so that we could later enjoy our cocktail hour with family and friends. Patty knew exactly how to interact with all of the different guests, made sure to get every photo combination that we wanted, and captured so many candid moments of us without it ever feeling like she was "in the way" of anything happening that day. Patty is like a chameleon in that sense and is the type of person who you feel like you've known for a long time even though you just met her. She even went out of her way to help with little things throughout the day - which she did not need to do but it was so appreciated. Now for the photos themselves: they are incredible and we received them back very quickly. We could not have expected to have so many amazing photographs! A lot of my favorites are the candid shots that I had no idea she was even taking, which is what I love most about her style as a photographer. I could not be happier with them and everyone who sees them can't stop complimenting / asking who our photographer was. he was very responsive to messages (which I appreciated being busy and trying to plan a wedding!). We first met at our engagement photo session, and immediately I felt comfortable with her and loved her style. She is very laid back but also is able to give direction so that shooting time is use efficiently and catching you at your best. The day of our wedding, she was around while we were still getting hair and make-up finished taking photos, but also looking our for ME making sure my hair looked perfect and the way I wanted it, making sure my make-up was done just right. We did first look photos and most of our group/wedding party shots before the ceremony (which she encouraged and I am SO glad that we did). Patty made sure to give directions clearly so people knew where to stand and what to do, which I really appreciated as I have been part of weddings with more passive photographers before and it just doesn't work as well to get the BEST shots. You could tell that she wanted it to look amazing, not just to take the photos to get them done. We had a second photographer (Kyle) who also was incredible and very friendly and helpful. Our photos came out AMAZING, and I love looking at them and sharing them with friends and family. I appreciate that Patty was more than just a passive by-stander taking pictures, she was an active part of making sure our day stayed on track and organized, and I am so grateful for all of the help that she gave to us! Book her for your wedding you will not be disappointed!

f my photos the weekend after my wedding -- most of my friends had to wait months for theirs!!! Even with the insanely quick turnaround, everything was flawless and I'm so glad I hired her to be there for my big day.

And Patricia made sure to keep everything moving that day so we could stick to the timeline; my entire bridal party, including ourselves, even got to enjoy cocktail hour (something we were sure couldn't happen, given how big our bridal party was and how many photos we took)! had a winter wedding in Maine so our wedding day started off with a 6am temp of -2 degrees and it hadn't warmed up that much by the time we were doing outdoor photos. Patty and AJ had us in and out of the limo and venue so quickly for the outside shots that we barely noticed the cold temps. The results were beautiful. I felt completely clam and relaxed throughout my wedding day knowing that Patty and AJ were behind the cameras. They were fun, professional and I trusted their judgment completely. There were logistics issues and I had an allergic reaction to some of the makeup. Patricia was a calming influence and took everything in stride. They day went exceedingly well and we are thrilled with the photos. We received our photos very fast and love all of them. Our favorite photos were those she took candidly, without us even realizing we were in front of the camera- which for us made all the difference. I would have a photographer with me the entire day of my wedding, during all the intimate and emotional moments, and it was really important to me that I had someone who I felt comfortable with. Having Patricia as our photographer felt like having another girlfriend there while we were getting ready. She is so good at being everywhere but not in the way at the same time. I have been in many weddings and it is not always the case that someone is able to just easily connect with others, take command of organizing people, and not come across as pushy or quite honestly, annoying. Patricia is gracious, thoughtful about how she organizes things, and was considerate about making sure we enjoyed our day and didn't spend too much time away from our guests. Her work speaks for itself! We were so happy with our pictures. It poured on my wedding day and she was able to capture some gorgeous rain photos of me and my husband as well as improvise a way to take some photos on a porch. You'd never know it was raining based on what she was able to capture. She really listened to what I wanted and used her own intuition to capture people and moments I didn't anticipate. I highly recommend Kivalo! I can't say enough great things about them! Patricia also went above and beyond for me by showing up at my bridal shower and rehearsal dinner. If she had the availability, she made it happen. Lastly, we got our pictures unbelievably quickly. Within a week we had our blog sneak peeks and within a few days after that we had all of our photos to print how we wished. I would recommend Kivalo to any friend getting married without hesitation!

Patricia is fun, energetic, and loves what she does, which is apparent after talking to her. Patricia met with me when I traveled to Maine before the wedding. She came to the house where our ceremony was going to take place and gave suggestions as to where we should take pictures and say our vows. She spent the whole wedding day with us. Her first task was shooting the details, a list of items she had asked for previously. After getting our pictures back we found out she set up everything on the rocks behind the house and got some great shots! She took some pictures of us getting ready and captured shots that are near and dear to my heart...a couple tears shared by family and laughter and dancing throughout the morning. We decided to do a first look and Patricia set it up perfectly. Getting our bridal party pictures done before the ceremony was important to us because we had somewhere to be right after to make our entrance into cocktail hour. She kept us on time throughout the afternoon. She even climbed the rocks with us to get some great shots with the ocean as our backdrop! One of the best things about Patricia was she learned all the names of the main "players" in our wedding. She knew all of our bridal party, immediate family, and very close friends. This became astonishing when we were doing family photos. No one was trying to figure out if she was talking to them...everyone knew. It was amazing to watch! Her attention to this little detail made the process of family photos effortless. After getting our pictures back, all 1451 of them, my husband and I congratulated ourselves on picking out the best photographer! Our pictures are the perfect reminder to our perfect day! Our photographs are stunning. There isn't one bad picture. She captured the whole day from start to finish.
