We went with Kj Catering Company for our wedding. We booked with them early on in our planning process. The selections they had to choose from were great, and we were able to chat ...on the phone to go through the menu we were thinking and ask for any accommodations such as vegan, gluten-free, or removing certain items due to lack of interest amongst our guests. For example, a pepper jam off the charcuterie board. On our wedding day, the staff put together a small box of the appetizers from cocktail hour on the sweetheart table. It was such a thoughtful touch! Especially since we did not get done with pictures until closer to the end of cocktail hour.
The main critique I have occurred on the wedding day. When my husband and I were going through the buffet line, I saw the salad, the dressings, two sides, the champange chicken, but not the other entree option we selected (eggplant parmesan). I asked one of the KJ staff if the eggplant parmesan was available. He asked if I wanted some and I declined as I thought it was being brought out shortly. I assumed incorrectly and had a lot on my mind, but it turned out guests had to request it. I wish I had known that beforehand because I could have had the DJ make an announcement to guests before tables were called. I heard later that some guests did not eat an entree because they thought we only had chicken.
Another critique/something that I wished was more transparent was regarding payment. Transactions were completed through Venmo. For one of the payments, I selected the purchase protection box. Later, when verifying how much we owed, $50 dollars of that payment did not go towards our bill due to selecting that box. I did not repeat that same mistake.
Overall, Kj Catering Company provided us with a delicious meal and appetizers. We received compliments from guests about the food, such as the beautiful presentation of the appetizers at cocktail hour & several raved about the champagne chicken.
