Mark and his team did an outstanding job at listening to my ideas and preferences, and executing on them. He also helped me manage my budget for flowers and came up with suggestions that still made for a beautiful display at the venue. The "trial run" for the centerpieces was especially helpful in confirming what exactly things would look like, and it allowed me to tweak some of the colors and flowers used. I literally grew up in the floral industry, running around the wholesale markets as a kid to riding along on deliveries after school & on weekends. After attending DePaul, I took over the business with my wife Nancy. Kloeckner Preferred Flowers has built our reputation of the highest quality in both floral products & personal service. This whole process was smooth and easy. The price compared to other florists was similar so what sold me initially was how carefully the team listened, considered my thoughts, and the extra little perks they included. They were able to adjust the quote to fit my budget. We had a small wedding of 45 guests so we really maximized the amount of flowers we could have within our budget. Seriously, the arrangements were beautiful and I am so grateful to Kloeckner for their hard work and artistry.

which I had to reiterate my vision a number of times. The proposal came out totally different and my husband’s name was misspelled. So I shared more photos in the hopes of revising the proposal, which didn’t come for months. My mother, mother in law, and the wedding planner went to the preview meeting with all the flowers still wrong. I said “no roses” every time and yet there they were, filling the displays. We also had a summer wedding but the display was filled with dark greenery, giving it a fall vibe. Rather than coming up with other options (light leaves, fern leaves, etc.), they decided to tell me there was no other way to do this and the tables would look awful without the filler. Also, the price kept going up, their reasoning was because I said “no roses” and other flowers drove up the cost. I showed up on my wedding day to roses everywhere. Roses at the ceremony, centerpieces, head table, everywhere. My bridal bouquet was thankfully the flowers I wanted, but the delivery was very messy. They gave me all the groomsmen flowers and my bridesmaids had to run down to give them out. After the wedding we were told that roses had to be used because of the recent heat wave. Then they still asked us to pay full price - even though their previous explanation for the price was because we asked for no roses. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this florist to anyone. If I knew at the start what we ended up spending, I would have gone with someone else more attentive to my needs.

He mocked up a beautiful proposal and a month or so before the wedding we got to go to the shop and see a preview of the arrangement and he helped us curate the kinds of flowers, color palette and the table scape. The price was very fair and we were so happy with how everything turned out! When the flowers arrived on the wedding day, they looked so lush and fresh and we got so many compliments! were unable to do our preview of our table floral arrangements in person. The first 'draft' pictures we received weren't exactly what we were looking for, but Pam (our partner at Kloeckner) carefully listened to our feedback and put everything into action for the day of. When I saw the bridal party bouquets delivered, I saw that they had hit everything out of the park. Everything was as discussed and desired. The flowers were healthy and full and vibrant. And when we walked into the ballroom that hosted our ceremony, I truly gasped. The arrangements on the floor and adorning our custom chuppah were exactly what we wanted. A note on our custom chuppah...my husband and I designed and built a DIY chuppah involving over 100 books that would later become the wedding favors for our guests. This involved our dropping off a bunch of elements (including all of the books) at Kloeckner a week in advance and then trusting them to deliver on the set-up plan that we had discussed only over the phone and briefly in person. Reuben, in charge of set-up day of, brought our vision perfectly to life. He set up the chuppah exactly as discussed, plus added flowers in our exact color palette. He also oversaw the disassembly during a quick room flip. Seeing our design vision come to life was such a highlight for us, and we feel so grateful that Kloeckner helped everything come together. I am even pressing/preserving my bridal bouquet so I can remember the blooms in the years to come. Thank you!

ll, they were very slow to respond. When they finally did, they provided a professional look book which I appreciated. I provided comments and requests back within 24 hours. They took over a week and a half to get back to me upon which they said they could not complete my suggestions and that they had booked up my date. I was never given an opportunity to provide a deposit and they were not willing to have a discussion about my wishes. I would not waste your time.

We wanted fairly simple flowers and much more focus on the candle-light. And when I asked to re-use some of the décor from the ceremony for the reception in order to stay within my budget, they were very flexible and willing to do as I wanted. ontact suggested we contact them when we asked for her recommendation for an affordable, high quality option. We met at the Kloeckner shop twice, once before our initial booking way back in 2019 and then again after two postponements for a final discussion a few weeks before our wedding. Both times, Mark was so warm and welcoming, really knows his stuff, and worked so hard to really understand our vision and make sure everything was perfect. I contacted a few of the other preferred vendors and I'm confident that Kloeckner's prices were the most competitive, and I appreciated that they didn't have a minimum like many other companies. The flowers at our wedding turned our absolutely beautiful. The candles lining the window sills were one of my favorite parts and done by Kloeckner as well. The only thing I will say is that if you are looking for an all inclusive design company to manage intensive wedding design (like lighting, drapery, dance floors, champagne walls, neon signage etc), Kloeckner may not be the right choice as their specialty is really in the flowers themselves. But if you are looking for high quality, beautiful florals, wonderful service, reasonable prices, and supporting a Chicago family business, Kloeckner is the perfect choice! We would recommend them to anyone.

event in Chicago once this darned pandemic is over and I will 100% use Kloeckner for flowers/greenery. Mark is kind, empathetic, listens to your vision, creates a detailed and beautiful proposal for you - I am sad that I do not actually get to see the beautiful arrangements he planned for my wedding. We were going to wed at Cafe Brauer and I contacted several of the florists on the approved vendor list and Mark was the only one who responded - literally later the same day and he apologized for the delay! He is attentive and very responsive and professional. The prices seem much more affordable than others as well. This pandemic wedding rescheduling nightmare is finally almost over for me, but vendors like Kloeckner and people like Mark truly are a bright light in what has been a dark year. Highly recommend!!

I recommend looking through their regular website at flowers you can order to get a rough idea of what they can do for a centerpiece at different price points. I also wanted guests to be able to take the centerpieces home, without having to buy expensive vases, so Mark was willing to work with vases I gathered up on my own. I loved how every table was a little different, but overall a gorgeously cohesive design. We also had some candles in our package, which were totally worth it! My only minor complaint was that some of the ledge candles were not spread out like I requested. I had specific written instructions about how many candles I wanted in each window, but they ended up clustered together, leaving some areas with too many candles and others without candles. When you're paying per candle, you need to be specific, and I was disappointed that they were not quite where I wanted, but I'm sure no one else noticed and the overall look was still beautiful.

They were also very accommodating with dropping of our bridal party flowers early in the day, then arriving at the venue to set up for both the ceremony then again for the reception and coming back to pick up everything at the end of the night. tside. After meeting with Mark, however, I knew that we needed to go with him. I told him that my theme was peacock feathers and he took my idea and not only told me about what flowers we could use, but showed me a few samples around the shop. Besides a small snafu of forgetting to call and remind him about our meeting for the mock-up, Mark was very on top of everything. When he forgot our meeting, he even gave us a free bouquet with our flowers at the mock-up meeting. The bouquets, boutonnieres, and corsages were beautiful and look GREAT in our photos. And the centerpieces were perfect! He even added extra peacock feathers at the last minute for the extra touch that I wanted. Overall, Ryan and I are so glad that we went with Kloeckner!

We had so many compliments on our centerpieces, they were abundant and unique. I have an uncle who is a florist and was worried he would be critical of our choices. He was impressed with the flowers, that’s a huge compliment! I will use Kloeckner’s in the future for other reasons!

lls in a timely manner. When I met with Mark to discuss the actual arrangements he was very attentive, listened to my opinions and ideas, and when I was uncertain offered me several options. He also didn't push when I said I didn't want something. I ended up with a gorgeous bouquet and the decorative flowers at the venue were spectacular and really helped to tie everything together. Since it was a winter wedding they even provided bags for my and the bridemaids' bouquets so we could get them to the venue from our hotel and they wouldn't be exposed to the cold too much. Forethought!

k was so beautiful many guests and other vendors at the wedding asked who did the flowers and if they could use pictures of them. The flowers were classic, beautiful and perfect. He was extremely responsive and available for last minute changes etc. I would highly recommend Kloeckner flowers for any event but definitely your wedding. They are trustworthy, have great taste and won't let you down.

them all come to life and on a budget! I was disappointed after meeting with a couple other florists and they came back with extremely high proposals. We had a decent budget but could not bring ourselves to spend a ridiculous amount on flowers that die the next day. When we met with Mark he was great at walking me through the whole day and what we need and don't need. For example, he suggested using the bouquets for the head table, when other florists were pushing for full arrangements that really just block the bride and groom. We pretty much decided to go with them instantaneously and for the next 9 months Mark or someone at Kloeckner was always quick to answer my questions. Mark always listened closely to my vision and made excellent suggestions based on other components of our wedding! His black candlesticks worked perfectly for our tall centerpieces :) He pays close attention to detail and it was obvious as soon as you entered Cafe Brauer. He did candlelights around the ledges of the reception hall that were stunning and made the room sparkle. He truly has a great gift of both creativity and really listening to what the bride wants. Kloeckner nailed every aspect of my vision and then some! We have received SEVERAL compliments- many of which were that it was the most beautiful room they've ever seen. Wish I could have another wedding to work with them again :) They were definitely one of my favorites to work with through the wedding planning!
