I’ve gone back and forth on this review because there were aspects of my wedding hair and makeup that I loved, but the overall experience fell significantly short of what I expecte...d, especially for an investment of nearly $3,000.
First, Tiffany was absolutely wonderful. She was talented, professional, responsive, and such a calming presence. I loved my hair, was comfortable all night, and would recommend her without hesitation.
Unfortunately, the makeup side was much more stressful. I originally had my bridal trial with Stef and expected her to be my wedding-day artist. When Stef became unavailable, Kristel contacted me and asked if I would be comfortable with her taking over my bridal makeup. I agreed. Shortly before my wedding, I discovered through the schedule that I had been reassigned again, this time to Neelam, without being asked or even notified.
I had no issue with the first change because it was communicated to me and I agreed to it. What bothered me was how the second was handled. After I expressed my dissatisfaction, Kristel ultimately came and did my makeup herself. I appreciated that, but I was left feeling that had I not spoken up, the arrangement Kristel herself had offered would not have been honored.
My makeup photographed beautifully, but I was disappointed in how it wore. My under-eyes became cakey and the makeup around my nose began separating within about an hour. One of my bridesmaids also had a stressful experience with Neelam after her winged eyeliner was repeatedly removed with an oily wipe and reapplied, causing increasing irritation around her eyes.
Communication was another recurring frustration. I had messages go unanswered for extended periods, including while a significant final payment was approaching, and even a simple logistical question the night before my wedding received no response.
The most disappointing interaction came afterward. My mom canceled her services shortly before the wedding. Kristel explained that we were outside the cancellation window and removing them would put us below the onsite minimum. I completely understood, told her so, and considered the matter settled. I never asked for an exception.
A few days later, Kristel reached out to me on her own and said, “I’m sending a refund your way. I don’t feel good about you paying for something she’s not getting.” I confirmed my mom would not receive services and thanked her.
The refund never came. After two follow-ups, Kristel eventually told me she was upholding the original cancellation policy due to the cancellation window and onsite requirements. This was particularly disappointing because those circumstances were already known and had been discussed before she voluntarily offered the refund. I had already accepted that I wasn’t entitled to one. My issue was never the cancellation policy; it was explicitly offering a refund without being asked and then reversing that commitment after I had to repeatedly follow up.
Tiffany was fantastic, and my makeup photographed beautifully, but a beautiful photograph doesn’t tell the whole story. Wedding beauty is an intimate, high stress service, and communication, reliability, professionalism, and follow-through matter just as much as the finished product. Unfortunately, my overall experience did not meet the standard I expected for nearly $3,000.
