nt right. KNCO was reserved close to a year in advance and agreed to a family-style wedding for 100 guests at the time; our final count was 83. My daughter had a tasting in advance and was very happy with it. The day of our event, the sous chef introduced himself with one other staff member - NO OTHER STAFF MEMBERS EVER ARRIVED. While we were busy getting ready for the wedding, we were never asked about any changes. Prior to the start of the dinner at the wedding, an announcement was made that the dinner would be buffet style! This was never discussed in advance or on that day, when they felt the need for a change. We had a water service, and the water was never refilled. Of the two workers, which included the sous chef, the same person serving and preparing food was also clearing plates! At one point, I had to help clear plates, as well as the staff member from the venue who was not affiliated with KNCO. I felt bad for how hard the two workers were working, but was also so angered by the amount of money paid and the service we were receiving. The food sat for a very long time, and by the time people were eating, you could tell it had been there for a while. We did not prepare for a buffet table; we had no signs listing what each dish was, etc., for our guests. We received feedback from our guests that our appetizers during cocktail hour were sitting next to the heated dinner food, and they were confused about what was an appetizer and what was not. They used our salad plates for the charcuterie appetizers and had the food sitting in chafers during the serving. We had a last-minute make-shift buffet table, that was so ugly. They then used the bread-and-butter plates for the salad and rolls, and served them instead of also shifting them to buffet style. Our guests had no butter served with the rolls. The rolls were cold and of poor quality. The beef was of poor quality, and several guests shared this. My daughter's invitations included a breakdown of the meal, outlining family-style and whipped butter on the rolls, using the specific language from KNCO. Early on in our planning, the entire table decoration planning centered around a family-style meal. The next day, I followed up with Kiel, and he let me know he was aware of many issues. Another concern was why I initiated contact about the problems rather than Kiel being proactive and contacting us, since he already knew things had not gone well. Kiel apologized profusely, and my daughter did receive a 25% refund, but I felt it was not adequate. I have since sent an email and text requesting a specific breakdown of the food costs for the event, which is all we feel we should pay for, but I have not received any response. I am also sad to see a review on his site, the weekend before our event, with a similar experience.
