Knot a Second Thought Weddings and Events

There are not enough stars to rate Zena and the crew of Knot a Second Thought! We met Zena at a distance (from our phone call appointments in Minnesota to get at home/work in North Carolina). Our friends and family would ask how wedding planning/stress was going and we would say we feel confused why any couples have stress wedding planning because we had Zena. She was there every step of the way, recommended amazing vendors and helped coordinate day of events and rehearsal. I’m not sure how many couple get married in a hurricane or tropical storm but we did and Zena had plans for plan A, B, C and D. Needless to say we reverted to plan D to keep everyone safe and out of the 60 mph winds and rain. Not one guest plus tell it wasn’t our original plan as it was better than perfect. Zena listened to our “desired must haves” and made it work- we didn’t need to stress. In the end, we were married which is all we wanted but Zen gave us a fairy tale day which was better than we could have ever envisioned it!! We place her in our adopted family and love her!

I am so THANKFUL that I was connected with Zena less than 30 days before my wedding. I had been planning my wedding for almost the last 2 years. I thought everything was going to be perfect but was thrown a major curveball 30 days before hand. In hindsight, I am so happy this curveball happened because I was able to get connected with Zena. Basically, my venue did not impress me with the florals they made for my bridal bouquet, so I had to make a quick change to find a florist that would match my vision. Jerrye Gordon (local wedding stylist) got me paired with Zena. I met with Jerrye to review my wedding vision, specific colors, and flowers that I liked. Jerrye was so knowledgable about flowers and the shades they come in. I never had this type of treatment at my venue, so I felt so comfortable and confident to make this change! I never realized florals could be so specific and you can't just get this flower in this color just because you see a picture of it! These details were very important in bringing my wedding vision to a reality and I'm so happy Jerrye helped me! On my wedding day, Jerrye brought me my bouquet and I was just in AWE. It was more beautiful than I could have even imagined. My grandmother who passed away about 5 years ago was majorly into flowers and I wanted to make the florals a tribute to her. I know she would have been so pleased to see them! Next, Zena and her team made the most BEAUTIFUL floral chandelier in the reception pavilion area. All of the table centerpieces and floral details were just perfect. Everything happens for a reason and I'm forever grateful that I was able to work with Knot a Second Thought for my florals. I still can't believe how beautiful my flowers were. Zena was also accommodating when I asked to rework some of the flowers to fit more into my budget (this is very important in working with a vendor!) I would definitely recommend Zena to anyone who wants dreamy, glamorous, gorgeous flowers on their wedding day!

What an awesome group of ladies!! Zena was so wonderful in helping me navigate a sticky situation, and Mel was AMAZING in helping us coordinate and execute our wedding. I’m so thankful I found these ladies, they are amazing!!

Zena is a fun and dedicated partner to have by your side during the wedding planning process. She lives weddings! She keeps up with cool new trends and always has fresh ideas when you go to her for help. I found it hard to not ask a million questions and get ahead of myself, but Zena responds to you very quickly, whether the issue is big or small. I definitely wish she had given me the day-of timeline sooner, because once I had that I felt like I had a better handle on the timeframes needed for other vendors, specifically the DJ. There were a few important things that she and I had discussed that I had to remind her of (different entrance for the bride, 1 cake to cut and separate cake to serve for guests, etc) and correct on the timeline, but I know she has a lot of different weddings she is planning all the time and she got all that straight before the day of. Just knowing how many weddings she has had experience with and how much she is handling behind-the-scenes made me feel so much calmer. It was great to have someone to go to when I needed a creative solution, consultation on my color scheme coordination, or just reassurance. She seems to know everyone wedding-related in the Crystal Coast area (and beyond), so she was familiar with my vendors and came together to make sure everything was just what we wanted.
