Linda grew up in CT, but relocated often while her husband of over 46 years served in the Navy. She is a retired educator, having received her BS in Elementary Education from Bowie State University and MS in Curriculum and Instruction from Western Maryland College, both in MD. In 2019 she became a certified wedding officiant in MD and D.C. Linda works with couples to find that fine balance between creativity, tradition, and individuality to plan a creative and personalized wedding ceremony. Her passion for writing and ability to connect with couples helps her create a ceremony like no other!

inda was SUCH A JOY as the officiant at our wedding. The meetings we had leading up to the wedding with her felt like chatting with a friend or relative. She made the process so enjoyable and was such a calm, fun presence in all the chaos of planning of wedding. She took everything we contributed to her speech to heart and fully embraced our style without any judgement. You can feel in her spirit that she takes so much joy in her business. A funny story from the actual ceremony, we had planned ahead of time to have the groom's brother be the secret ring barer. When Linda asked the audience to look under their chairs to find the ring, his brother was sitting in the wrong seat and someone else came up with the ring derailing the rest of Linda's officiant speech. Linda and I looked at each other, I'm sure I had pure panic in my eyes, and as the bride I completely froze and didn't know what to do. Linda, on the other hand sprung into action and with her good humor and very natural style took control of the situation, got the groom's brother to stand up and got the ceremony back in track in such a wonderful way. Everyone laughed and we got the moment and pictures that we wanted. Linda went above and beyond on our day and also stood outside of the ceremony space greeting our guests and getting to know folks as they were coming in, she accompanied us to our rooftop photo shoot and even helped wrangle folks when things got a bit overwhelming! Not to mention that she sent us a lovely keepsake from our day afterwards that we will treasure forever. We were so grateful to have her with us on our day. It was like having a close friend we trust shepherd us through all of the chaos. I'm going to be honest, I did not consider ahead of time how important having the right officiant would be to making our day special and I feel like we got really lucky to have our paths cross with Linda. No pressure, but when selecting your officiant, keep in mind that you're going to remember your experience with this person for the rest of your lives! I am so glad our paths crossed with Linda. If Linda is available for your wedding book her immediately!

If you are in the DC/MD area don't go with anyone else!!!! You will do yourself a disservice. We only met Linda about 2 months before our wedding and she somehow made it feel like ...

we have known her for years. She makes everything very personable and tailors the service to the couples needs. She even went above and beyond by coming to our rehearsal in super cold weather on her own time (rehearsal and ceremony was outside). She also handed out hand warmers that we had on the day of which she absolutely didn't have to do. These are just some of the many thing she did that kept everything running smooth and perfect. o/would not book with anyone else. We had met and watched her officiate my now sister in law’s wedding a year and a half prior, and I knew after the way she spoke at their ceremony she would officiate our wedding come time. Linda’s ceremonies are beautifully eloquent and personal, as she really tries to get to know you before even constructing the ceremony. We had plenty of time to fine tune our final draft, and Linda was accepting and flexible when I requested a change less than a week from our ceremony. I would recommend Linda to every couple, and if I had to do everything all over again I would rebook her.
