We rented the on-site houses for 2 nights and they wouldn’t allow us to use the locks on the doors, were very unhelpful to get the only tv in one studio working, and claim that not a single thing was accidentally left behind following our wedding… we had over 60 people stay on-site & have reached out about numerous missing things since morning of checking out. We were blessed to have amazing vendors that were more than helpful- I don’t think anyone from the venue even checked on us, the bride and groom, once on wedding day. They also immediately shut a garage door that some guests opened around 8pm (due to temperatures being cooler outside of the reception) saying they couldn’t do that and contradicting everything we had been told and a video from another wedding only a few days earlier. They made us leave the bridal suite 30 mins before our ceremony which resulted in my bridal party chaotically packing things up and trying to clear out despite us staying on-site at the property and being the only people getting married that day. It made no sense and resulted in a lot of unnecessary stress, misplaced items, and precious time being taken away. When I had a hair change after the ceremony, my HMUA had to set up in a little living room of a house on site. It wasn’t ideal. What is so interesting to me is that every person I’ve met that has gotten married here says the same thing- beautiful place, terrible management and communication.

e how guest are treated. Let me tell you, Knotting Hills is not only beautiful but their staff is very professional, respectful, attentive, and kind to ALL people. Guest really enjoy themselves too! It’s one of my favorite venues. Their newest venue The Lake, is unique and beautiful! There’s nothing like it and I absolutely love it! I have nothing to gain from writing this review. I just want to give them credit as they deserve it.

day. It provided a gorgeous backdrop for the wedding and helped us capture some truly beautiful photos. Regrettably, our overall experience with Knotting Hills left much to be desired. Communication throughout the planning process was inconsistent, and we often felt like an inconvenience rather than valued clients. The venue coordinator in particular brought a negative energy to the process, which added unnecessary stress during what should have been a joyful time. On the night of the wedding, Paula and one of the bartenders truly stood out for their professionalism and attentiveness. They ensured the bride and groom were well taken care of and even went out of their way to accommodate guests with dietary needs. The food exceeded our expectations. We were told in advance that any leftover food would be packed up for us to take home. Despite paying for more guests than actually attended—and seeing food still in trays during cleanup—we were told there were no leftovers to take. This was frustrating and felt dishonest. Unfortunately, the other bartender was noticeably unfriendly, to the point that several guests commented on it. Bar lines were long despite our prior request that specialty drinks be pre-made to avoid delays. We were assured this wouldn’t be an issue, but not only were the drinks not pre-made, we even overheard complaints from staff that one of the drinks was "too complicated", even though they had received the recipe well in advance and never mentioned any concerns. When the lights came on at the end of the evening, the staff began clearing tables and piling our belongings on a table in the back of the venue. Our guests were not even given time to exit the venue as things were being cleared around them. Although we were told we had until 10:30 p.m. for cleanup, the rushed and disorganized approach created chaos. We had planned to pack items by table into their respective boxes, but this was not allowed, making cleanup more difficult and stressful. To top it off, the honeymoon suite had no hot water—meaning the bride and groom ended the night with cold showers, which was both a frustrating and uncomfortable way to end the evening. One of our biggest issues was the billing process. The initial invoice included a $500 security deposit, the venue fee, and an estimated guest count. We were told we could make monthly payments, with the final count and payment due 30 days before the wedding. Payments were made via Venmo, but selecting the “purchase” option—which provides buyer protection—incurred additional fees of which we were informed we would have to pay if we selected that with our payments. Because our Friday wedding ended up with fewer attendees than expected, we overpaid based on headcount. We expected a simple refund. However, it took nearly two months and numerous emails, phone calls, and Venmo requests, with no response, before we finally received most of the refund. It wasn’t until legal action was mentioned that we got a reply. Even now, we have not received the $500 security deposit refund. Multiple follow-ups have gone unanswered.

of coordinator was rude to me, the wedding party, the vendors and our friends and family that showed up the day of to help decorate for our reception. They failed to properly “mark” our file so they did not realize we planned to use their catering. We had to sign up for a last minute food tasting which ended up being terrible. We then had to, at the last minute, find an outside caterer the month before our wedding. They refuse to reach out earlier than 3 months before your wedding day and then relay all the obscure rules about decorations, timeline requirements, and day of demands. I used Black Friday to purchase decorations for our reception and couldn’t use a single item because of the rules they did not share with us when we paid our deposit. Any attempt to reach out to the venue was met with silence, annoyance, or blame, once they received their money they did not care about making this an easy or joyful experience for myself or my husband. We tried emailing multiple times about a payment plan, and when they finally realized three months away from our wedding they messed up our contract, they emailed a $10,000 invoice for catering that they marked as past due by a month. This was two months before our wedding day. They nickel and dime every chance they have, $200 to open the bridal suite at 8am instead of 9am if you need more time for everyone to get ready, $2500 extra to decorate the night before… even if no event is going on the night before, and $500 a night for their “honeymoon suite” which is a tiny home on the property with no amenities. They advertise as a luxury resort which suggests a level of inclusiveness they do NOT have. The bridal suite smelled like sewage the morning of, likely from the water coming out of the sink in the bathroom, and the grooms quarters had half of the advertised games/machines that were actually working. Our coordinator started cleaning up with staff hours before we had to have everything removed from the building, and stressed the 10:30pm deadline so much that I was throwing away items because we had no space for them in vehicles since they didnt pack the items they removed from tables but instead shoved everything in the back of the venue. She then told me “wow Ive never seen a group get everything out of here so quickly” RIGHT AT 10:30… like we had a choice in that. They have only one bar tending vendor they work with, Champagne Wishes, who only accepts payments via venmo to the owner’s son. And when you pay that deposit the owner goes out of her way to tell you not to mark the payment as a good or service or that added fee will be on your final invoice. Since my March 2025 wedding I have seen MULTIPLE brides sharing similar experiences on TikTok and local Facebook groups. If you can afford their prices, look at nicer places elsewhere, you get nothing but a backdrop and a LOT of added stress with this venue.
