Knotting Hills

e how guest are treated. Let me tell you, Knotting Hills is not only beautiful but their staff is very professional, respectful, attentive, and kind to ALL people. Guest really enjoy themselves too! It’s one of my favorite venues. Their newest venue The Lake, is unique and beautiful! There’s nothing like it and I absolutely love it! I have nothing to gain from writing this review. I just want to give them credit as they deserve it.

day. It provided a gorgeous backdrop for the wedding and helped us capture some truly beautiful photos. Regrettably, our overall experience with Knotting Hills left much to be desired. Communication throughout the planning process was inconsistent, and we often felt like an inconvenience rather than valued clients. The venue coordinator in particular brought a negative energy to the process, which added unnecessary stress during what should have been a joyful time. On the night of the wedding, Paula and one of the bartenders truly stood out for their professionalism and attentiveness. They ensured the bride and groom were well taken care of and even went out of their way to accommodate guests with dietary needs. The food exceeded our expectations. We were told in advance that any leftover food would be packed up for us to take home. Despite paying for more guests than actually attended—and seeing food still in trays during cleanup—we were told there were no leftovers to take. This was frustrating and felt dishonest. Unfortunately, the other bartender was noticeably unfriendly, to the point that several guests commented on it. Bar lines were long despite our prior request that specialty drinks be pre-made to avoid delays. We were assured this wouldn’t be an issue, but not only were the drinks not pre-made, we even overheard complaints from staff that one of the drinks was "too complicated", even though they had received the recipe well in advance and never mentioned any concerns. When the lights came on at the end of the evening, the staff began clearing tables and piling our belongings on a table in the back of the venue. Our guests were not even given time to exit the venue as things were being cleared around them. Although we were told we had until 10:30 p.m. for cleanup, the rushed and disorganized approach created chaos. We had planned to pack items by table into their respective boxes, but this was not allowed, making cleanup more difficult and stressful. To top it off, the honeymoon suite had no hot water—meaning the bride and groom ended the night with cold showers, which was both a frustrating and uncomfortable way to end the evening. One of our biggest issues was the billing process. The initial invoice included a $500 security deposit, the venue fee, and an estimated guest count. We were told we could make monthly payments, with the final count and payment due 30 days before the wedding. Payments were made via Venmo, but selecting the “purchase” option—which provides buyer protection—incurred additional fees of which we were informed we would have to pay if we selected that with our payments. Because our Friday wedding ended up with fewer attendees than expected, we overpaid based on headcount. We expected a simple refund. However, it took nearly two months and numerous emails, phone calls, and Venmo requests, with no response, before we finally received most of the refund. It wasn’t until legal action was mentioned that we got a reply. Even now, we have not received the $500 security deposit refund. Multiple follow-ups have gone unanswered.

of coordinator was rude to me, the wedding party, the vendors and our friends and family that showed up the day of to help decorate for our reception. They failed to properly “mark” our file so they did not realize we planned to use their catering. We had to sign up for a last minute food tasting which ended up being terrible. We then had to, at the last minute, find an outside caterer the month before our wedding. They refuse to reach out earlier than 3 months before your wedding day and then relay all the obscure rules about decorations, timeline requirements, and day of demands. I used Black Friday to purchase decorations for our reception and couldn’t use a single item because of the rules they did not share with us when we paid our deposit. Any attempt to reach out to the venue was met with silence, annoyance, or blame, once they received their money they did not care about making this an easy or joyful experience for myself or my husband. We tried emailing multiple times about a payment plan, and when they finally realized three months away from our wedding they messed up our contract, they emailed a $10,000 invoice for catering that they marked as past due by a month. This was two months before our wedding day. They nickel and dime every chance they have, $200 to open the bridal suite at 8am instead of 9am if you need more time for everyone to get ready, $2500 extra to decorate the night before… even if no event is going on the night before, and $500 a night for their “honeymoon suite” which is a tiny home on the property with no amenities. They advertise as a luxury resort which suggests a level of inclusiveness they do NOT have. The bridal suite smelled like sewage the morning of, likely from the water coming out of the sink in the bathroom, and the grooms quarters had half of the advertised games/machines that were actually working. Our coordinator started cleaning up with staff hours before we had to have everything removed from the building, and stressed the 10:30pm deadline so much that I was throwing away items because we had no space for them in vehicles since they didnt pack the items they removed from tables but instead shoved everything in the back of the venue. She then told me “wow Ive never seen a group get everything out of here so quickly” RIGHT AT 10:30… like we had a choice in that. They have only one bar tending vendor they work with, Champagne Wishes, who only accepts payments via venmo to the owner’s son. And when you pay that deposit the owner goes out of her way to tell you not to mark the payment as a good or service or that added fee will be on your final invoice. Since my March 2025 wedding I have seen MULTIPLE brides sharing similar experiences on TikTok and local Facebook groups. If you can afford their prices, look at nicer places elsewhere, you get nothing but a backdrop and a LOT of added stress with this venue.

hing was seamless, beautiful, and so well organized. The venue itself is stunning, with the perfect mix of elegance and charm, and it created the most magical backdrop for our celebration. I also love how well the team worked with all of our external vendors to make the day goes smoothly! A huge thank-you to Sabrina, our on-site coordinator, who went above and beyond for us. She was incredibly kind, responsive, and so detail-oriented—always one step ahead and made sure everything ran smoothly. Her support gave us such peace of mind and allowed us to truly enjoy every moment. We’re still hearing from guests about how gorgeous the venue was and how smoothly everything went. If you’re looking for a venue that’s not only beautiful but also staffed with a truly amazing team, Knotting Hills is it!

mmediately and we signed it the same day. They tell you that your date is not set until payment is in, they never sent us the link to pay as they said they would. I ended up following up with 6 emails over the course of three weeks, 3 phone calls (never answered) and direct messaged them on Instagram. So safe to say, I was ghosted after signing a contract. In waiting a month for a response, I lost my date at most of the other venues I was interested in. Myself, my fiance, and our families are so upset because we really did love the venue itself.

e wedding it snowed so we had to have it inside. That was fine. But the heat wasn't turned on all day. We had a dress code for the wedding it was formal and everyone had to have jackets on. Since It was freezing. They just weren't prepared. Also the owner showed up in jeans and our wedding Cordinator was in jeans also. When I specifically said mulitiple times this was formal. Also we wanted everyone in black. You would think both of them would of at least wore black. Then the owner would keep coming up to me when multiple people were around me to try and talk and I was distracted. So I didn't get everything she was saying. I feel like that was done on purpose because she knew I was distracted. The venue wants to use put photos in their magazine. Honestly the way everything was handled I don't want them to use our photos. Plus we paid for those pictures. So they are getting free advertisement at our coast.

off the facilities and grounds- this facility has a bridal suite for the ladies to get ready in with celebrity vanity's for hair and make up and floor to ceiling mirrors; then onto the guys, there is a groom's pad with all sorts of games- arcade games, darts, pool, etc. to keep the guys entertained; next is the on site housing- there were enough buildings and beds to house all of our immediate families and wedding party; lastly the garden and reception hall... literally speechless on the beauty, cleanliness, and overall ambiance. The gardens made me feel as though I was royalty getting married in the gardens of a castle. Then the reception hall was the perfect blend of modern farmhouse style. I needed minimal decorations because the facilities themselves were beautiful enough. This venue also includes catering, open bar, and provides some decorations- the only thing I had to buy was my floral center pieces, they did the rest! The staff was amazing- calm, cool, collected and experienced. My day literally went flawlessly. There was never a line at the open bar- which was important to me. My guest are still talking about how it was one of the most amazing weddings that they have ever been to! Knotting Hills makes dreams come true!

nt. The attention to detail and impeccable design of Knotting Hills is simply breathtaking. We cannot praise their venue director, Kaelee, enough for going above and beyond to make our day stress-free and flawless. From the early planning stages to the last dance of the night, Kaelee was there every step of the way to ensure that everything ran smoothly. Knotting Hills Wedding Venue is an absolute dream come true. Its unparalleled beauty combined with the exceptional staff, make it truly stand out as the best in the St. Louis area. We wholeheartedly recommend Knotting Hills!

her staff are very organized, professional, and receptive to communication and feedback. The venue has well-defined expectations that help the flow of the day. Our guests were awestruck by the beauty of the venue. We cannot say enough good things about this venue. We toured many venues, and nothing made us feel the way Knotting Hills did as soon as we drove up to the property. 10/10 would recommend!

f EVERYTHING! Thank you thank you thank you!

f and during the entire planning process. She took care of everything to make sure that we had the best day. After the ceremony was over, she had our signature cocktails and cocktail hour snacks waiting for us. The staff was also extremely helpful in helping my family set up and break down the reception area so that my husband and I could enjoy our night and not worry about a thing. We rented out the big house for ourselves and our bridal party the night of and it was super convenient and a great way to keep the party going. Highly highly recommend Knotting Hills and I could not imagine a more perfect place for our wedding!

grounds are absolutely beautiful, and the on-site lodging is so accommodating and nice as well! They even had a pool and a hot tub! My family absolutely loved staying overnight. They had so much to choose from in terms of layout and decor, and they were so helpful in recommending other places we could find decor too, like from Ling’s Moment. It was one of the only venues we toured basically that put just as much effort into making the groom’s quarters just as good as the bridal suite! We both loved where we got ready (though after we got ready we all stayed in the groom’s quarters because who doesn’t love arcades?!) and couldn’t have found a better place. So much fun and adorable. Don’t even get me STARTED on the coordinators. Oh my goodness, Kaelee was our coordinator and she was absolutely perfect. From the moment we booked, we had her number and her attention if we needed it, and she made the day so stress-free; we literally didn’t have a single concern because she was so prepared and took care of all of it! She ran back and forth from the groom’s quarters about five times to get things for us, too, and she didn’t complain once! Anything that cropped up was taken care of at once. She even stood by us while we took family photos and ducked in every so often to hand us our drinks for a sip! So nice as a person herself, and so masterful at coordinating what was the absolute perfect day for us. If you’re on the fence about Knotting Hills hopefully you read this review and are swayed because there was not a single thing wrong! Beautiful grounds, a variety of places to take photos, a gorgeous reception hall, I could go on and on. You will not regret going with them. We certainly didn’t! Thank you so much to Knotting Hills and Kaelee for making our day absolutely perfect!

lush and the reception hall was simply beautiful. They have a great selection of add on's (coffee bar, sign/decor packages, etc) and so many on-site housing options which is a huge plus. My husband and I cannot sing enough praise to our coordinator Kaelee. We had a few meetings and a bunch of chats before the big day and she made sure every last detail was taken care of. She made the entire process smooth and easy, never missed a beat and was always 10 steps ahead. I can confidently say that our day would not have gone off as perfect as it did without her!

e although I desperately wanted it outside, Kaelee, my coordinator made the venue exactly how I envisioned my wedding to be. It was absolutely beautiful. I knew I could text her anytime if I had questions no matter what time and she would get back to me. She was always there to help. The property is just stunning all the way around and I had a blast. I will never forget this experience!

ve me when I say booking here was without a doubt the best place we could’ve chosen to get married at. Katy and her staff are truly wonderful. They communicate well but what stood out to me was how responsive they were in the final weeks leading up to our wedding. Someone was always reaching out to check in and see where they could help us and with what. Kaelee, our coordinator, is truly an angel and made sure everything went smoothly down to the minute on our big day. I honestly could not picture our wedding happening anywhere else. Knotting Hills will forever hold a special place in my heart - I could not recommend them more. 🤍

day-of and made us feel so comfortable with leaving things in her hands. Knotting Hills is a beautiful venue, and we felt like we had a fairytale wedding! The bridal suite and groom's quarters for getting ready were so nice and convenient to be on-site, as well as the guest house for the entire bridal party to stay the night after the wedding to keep the party going. Couldn't have asked for a better venue and coordinator!

e, day of coordinator, was on top of everything. She made sure that our day was perfect. She went above and beyond and exceeded our expectations. Our guests are still complimenting us on what a beautiful venue, wedding, and reception it was and how amazing the staff was. Do not think twice about booking this venue. I would highly recommend this venue for any event. Thanks Knotting Hills for making this day so perfect.

hing on my checklist. When I came across Knotting Hills, I had only seen a picture of their bridal suite and thought that it was pretty. I had no idea how beautiful and vast the property was until I pulled up. It truly feels like a fairytale dream of a venue. That being said- how gorgeous it was did not sell me. Meeting and touring with Katy is what solidified the decision for me. She made me feel completely at ease and assured me that they would do everything to make my wedding day as perfect as could be. Did they do set up and clean up? Yes. Was there a backup plan for ceremony if inclement weather came up? Yes. Would there be someone on the property all day from the venue if any needs arose? Yes. We decided on a Friday wedding in October of 2022. Once I booked with them, communication over the next two years was easy and quick. I felt that there was always transparency. As our wedding day got closer, I got to meet with our Day-Of Coordinator, Rileigh. She gave me the exact same feeling that Katy had the first day I met her- she was in my corner, and would do everything in her power that day to help everything run smoothly and to be as stress-free as possible for me. As for amenities- being able to get ready on the property the morning of the wedding (in the bridal suite and groom's quarters) was such a stress relief. My bridesmaids and I spent the night in the farm house the night before- not only is that house super cozy and stylish, but there was something so special getting to look out at the barn and the property all lit up in the dark the night before my wedding. The day of the wedding ran as smoothly as you could expect. Rileigh was there all night in case anyone needed anything, and they had a ton of staff who cleaned up (really quickly) afterwards. They even had some staff members check on our dog who was staying in one of the barns on the property during the reception. Come for the gorgeous EVERYTHING, stay for the incredible people who work there. I am really sad that we only got to get married here one time!!!

o many reasons to have your wedding here! I have worked with Katy for a couple years and she went above and beyond the whole time! She was always available for us and any questions we had. We were so lucky to have worked with her! Our day of coordinator was Kaylee and she was just as amazing! She helped with EVERYTHING. She was hands down the best! She made everything go smoothly and was on top of everything from start to finish! She’s amazing at what she does and we couldn’t of had the day we had without her! We couldn’t suggest this place enough! 🤍

rything, and easy to access. I would highly recommend Kaelee as your day of coordinator. She is a rockstar that went above and beyond for our wedding. Knotting Hills checked all my boxes off and I can’t wait to go back for our vow renewal.

h to choose from! ) to keeping me on track with dinner, speeches. It was the easy stress free beautiful slice of heaven I could ever ask for!! Everyone of my guests kept asking me how I found this place && how beautiful it was! Thank you for making my day unforgettable! High class! Outstanding attention to detail with the best directors ever!! This place will always have a special place in my heart!

d we loved every bit of the day/ evening. Thank you Knotting Hills for the wedding of my dreams!❤️

ul. Received so many compliments on the beautiful atmosphere. It was a day to remember!

s venue. We continue to get comments about how gorgeous the property was and how "fairytale" like it was. Even our make-up artists were swooning over the bridal suite. All of the amenities are top tier and you simply cannot find add-ons like they have anywhere else. The horse and carriage, groom's quarters, and main house were some of our favorites. So many memories were made even before and after the big day on that property. It started raining right before the ceremony and Michelle went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with a solution. That level of service, flexibility, and compassion is so hard to find these days. Thank you so much!

e than I would have liked, it is understandable since they are such a hot ticket right now! Katy always answered my questions as soon as she could, and helped on the day of as much as possible (including getting us grape juice last minute to fill the communion cup). I can't say enough great things about Knotting Hills! I would recommend this venue to any bride-to-be.

erything ran so smoothly. I was blown away by the venue. When we booked it, the wedding venue wasn’t even built yet, but it was everything they promised and so much more. Great payment plan. We also stayed at the rental house the night of the wedding with the whole bridal party and it was a blast.

detail this staff has is phenomenal—everything from the bridal suite to groom’s room to the reception building is beautiful. Katy and Michelle were both very helpful and timely with their communication when we had any questions. They were very helpful the day of as well-everything went so smoothly. I could not recommend this venue more! Thank you for helping the wedding of our dreams come true :)

us! ALL, and I mean ALL of our guest raved about how amazingly beautiful and immaculately clean every aspect of our Sons wedding was. The entire back wall opens up overlooking the lighted bridge and lake gorgeous. So everyone could be outside and still be present and hear the music. I couldn’t be happier. It was so lovely, I could work there. 10 star AAAAA event venue.

The on site accommodations are fantastic! The staff was super friendly, helpful and beyond supportive throughout the event. Book it!!!

vendors. They’re just a pleasure to work with. The abundance of big windows in the venue give you a stunning views from every angle. A 5 star venue you won’t regret!

work with. The staff is phenomenal. The venue is BEAUTIFUL! We booked it before it was finished and we were blown away with each additional added feature. Just a magical place! We experienced it in full- using the main house was perfect and so nice to be on site, so much more relaxing than a hotel. It was great to have a home base with family and friends who also stayed there. With it being just steps away from the grooms quarters many hours were spent in the pool and arcade. So much fun! The bridal suite it so beautiful and has great functionality for stylists and great backdrops for photographers. Absolutely perfect! Having the golf cart to move about the property was a great plus! I can say without a doubt that my daughter’s wedding was perfect and I can’t thank Knotting Hills enough for helping make it be everything that my daughter and son in law had every dreamt of❤️❤️

and so helpful with prep and setting things up before rehearsal. Katy and Michelle served as day-of coordinators and made sure every little detail was executed smoothly! All of our guests raved about how beautiful the space was, including the grounds. I’d recommend this venue to anyone getting married in the St. Louis area!

d many other things. the photographer had nothing but great things to say about it too. great lighting and plenty of onsite photo opportunities. inside and outside ceremony options. It really is a perfect place to have your wedding. our wedding was small about 30 +/- people but the building can accommodate 300. defiantly worth checking out.

ittle detail, and I can not wait to see how amazing it turns out once it is all finished!

2021!
