Garrett has been involved in live music events since he was in grade school. He started running sound for bands in 7th grade and fell in love with all things music.
The Knoxville native graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a B.S. in Recording Industry studies and audio production and went on to build a career history in the music industry. Thomson worked in various corners of the music industry while in Nashville including running digital marketing for record labels and artists as well as working in radio promotion for RPM Entertainment. He worked promoting the certified platinum recording, “Ready Set Roll.”
He's been putting on concerts, djing and hosting various music events in Knoxville for over a decade and enjoys creating the perfect musical atmosphere for weddings.

I can’t thank my DJ, Garrett, enough for making our wedding reception unforgettable! From the ceremony music to the dance floor, everything flowed perfectly. He truly understood the vibe we wanted and kept the energy up all night—our guests had the best time!
He was professional, easy to work with, and so attentive to our requests. Even when we had last-minute changes, he adjusted seamlessly and kept everything on point.
I highly recommend him to any couple looking for a DJ who will not only keep the party going but also make the whole experience stress-free and fun. He did an amazing job, and we are so grateful!

Kent was fantastic to work with! He had everything running smoothly for my wedding and reception and was great with communication. I had requested that the music not be too loud and he had it the perfect volume for the guests. I would always work with Kent and Knoxville DJ again!

Our Dj was Drew and what we were looking for was someone to hype everyone up and make sure everyone was on that dance floor. He EXCEEDED our expectation and did such a wonderful job!! We had everyone on that wedding floor and everyone was loving the music and dances. He ever came down and taught people a dance and integrated himself with everyone there. We have had tons of people call us and tell us what an amazing dj he was! I highly recommend knoxville dj but I can also rave about who we had within the company and I would request him to come back and do it all over again! 10/10 and made our wedding night amazing. Highly recommend this company for you dj needs especially for your wedding!!

Kent was the BEST! He supplied all the speakers and mics needed for the ceremony and reception. He listened to all of our requests and made sure everything flowed and sounded perfect! He even helped my dad and I orchestrate a surprise fun dance at my wedding. Kent is kind, easy to talk to, understanding, and knows just what the crowd wants! He follows your lead and is perfect for anyone looking to have not just a good time, but a great time! Thank you, Kent and Knoxville DJ team for everything!!!

The owner, Garrett was great to work with, but DJ Reed was assigned to my wedding. Reed didn’t come prepared based on our intake conversation, my wedding coordinator had to tell him the songs we were walking into, he didn’t speak clearly for the MC duties and my small guest count of about 50 couldn’t hear him. He didn’t play the Spotify list I curated and sent him. Additionally in the intake call, I asked him specifically to have a speaker outdoors as it was an indoor/ outdoor event and the coordinator again had to ask him to bring the speakers outside as no one was in the building (it was indoor/ outdoor event with a fire pit/ tea garden and drink truck with yard games outside). Overall, not impressed and disappointed with DJ Reed.

Elijah was amazing in every way! Easy to work with, played all the right jams, and was so kind and funny. He was a wonderful addition to our special day and made it all the more special! DJ knoxville was easy to communicate with and were very affordable as well! Thank you to them for making my day a special one! Garrett was wonderful to work with! He was able to take music from a YouTube video that I wanted as well as shorten a song for our first dance. He made the time to call me a couple weeks before the big day and ran through the plan start to finish and the day went flawlessly. He came and set up early and played music that kept us dancing! Thank you Garrett for an unforgettable day!

Garrett was an absolute pleasure to work with from start to finish. He was punctual, communicative, and followed our every wish. We had a violin player for our ceremony and a guitar player during the reception and he was very cooperative and helpful to ensure all things went successful. Among everything else, he looked like he wanted to be there and was super sweet to all of my guests.
I am absolutely blessed to have had him and would 100% recommend him!

We hired Knoxville DJ for our wedding ceremony and reception, and we couldn’t recommend him enough! He was easy to communicate with, we had a call to go over our music preferences and he had some great suggestions as well, but our dance floor was never empty! We also added the Photo Booth and our guests LOVED it!

We have nothing but awesome things to say about Garrett with Knoxville DJ! He was so easy to work with and took the time to get to know us and the vibe we were wanting to go with for our wedding. He was able to access every version of every song that was specifically requested and was able to curate playlists around songs we liked for specific parts of the evening. He came prepared with plenty of extension cords and all necessary equipment. He has a great personality and kept the flow of the night moving which was super helpful since we did not have a wedding planner. From start to finish, he was awesome to work with. We highly recommend him to DJ any event!

Perfection! I cannot believe we got a DJ this good with those prices. Garrett made everything easy and I feel like my communication skills probably made things tough for him but he still knocked it out of the park. My mother mentioned how he felt like another member of the family as opposed to a vendor and I couldn’t agree more. My family, especially my parents, loves to dance and it’s safe to say the music was their favorite part of the whole wedding. My sister is a wedding photographer and she mentioned how our DJ was the first DJ she’d seen to really work at entertaining everyone and reading the room. We had so much fun at our wedding, words cannot express, and Knoxville DJ played an enormous role in that. Seriously, you will be so happy you chose them for your wedding or any DJ needs!!

Knox DJ really made me our wedding special! They played all the songs we discussed in advance and they were thorough in their preparation with us. The day of was so smooth and they showed up 1-2 hours earlier than scheduled. They were overall really prepared and had everybody dancing SO much. Thanks Garrett and everybody at Knox DJ

Highly recommend working with Knoxville DJ! Garrett made our day so fun and our guests loved him. Very easy to communicate with and played great music based off of the music we told him we like. He even played Rocky Top for us twice since we missed it the first time for photos.

Garrett from Knoxville DJ was incredible. I was able to send exactly the songs I wanted, and he filled in perfectly with his expert choices as well. It was a hot day at my outdoor wedding, so I was concerned people might not dance alot...but Garrett delivered the party! Everyone I talked to said it was the most fun and the most they have danced at any wedding they'd been to! He was flexible, professional, seamless, and fit the budget too. I highly recommend!!
