Kokate Events is a boutique wedding planning and design company in Chicago, IL, that curates ~30 weddings a year. We create unique weddings that bring your vision to life. From engagement through the wedding, we handle every aspect so you can relax knowing your wedding will be picture-perfect and remembered for years.
Kokate Events has executed weddings, fashion shows, and social events as small as 10 people to as large as 2000+ over 10+ years. With our artistic approach, we are able to provide a twist on classic touches that elevate your wedding.
Kokate Events is different in that:
- We only take one event per day. This ensures your event is our highest priority
- We never use a B-Team. You will always have our Head Planner and Head Designer working and attending your event, ensuring the best quality. We have additional staff for the day of, depending on how large your wedding is
- We can custom-create almost anything in-house (invitations, decor, dresses, etc), so your options are limitless
- Most of our packages don't cap how many times we can meet in-person or virtually
- Our planning and design fee is customized per couple and all-inclusive, so no service fees, gratuity, tax, or other fees. We believe in being transparent, so you know exactly what you're getting.

Meet the team
- AJ KokateOwner & Head PlannerBorn in Mumbai, India, AJ moved to the US at the age of 5. He co-founded “The Arya Foundation”, a non-profit, in 2014 to provide adaptive equipment to children with special needs. While organizing all of its fundraisers and other events, AJ quickly found his true calling of being an Event Planner. He quickly learned to execute conventions and fundraisers with 2000+ people, putting him in various magazines and other media yearly. While initially only doing corporate events, his own wedding in 2020 to Elizabeth brought several new clients and opened up a new industry. His problem-solving skills, innovative ideas, societal experiences, and ability to blend cultures helped him create a niche market in the wedding world. This led to the creation of Kokate Events where every wedding is unique, interesting, and carefully executed. Kokate Events became so busy that the first couple of years, all the events were found by word of mouth. When he’s not planning events, AJ is either eating something interesting, relaxing in a resort, or silently judging movies.
