Ko'olau Ballrooms & Conference Center

My now-husband & I had our destination Hawaii wedding ceremony in Ko'olau Ballrooms (Outdoor Garden) and our reception at their Glass Ballroom. We chose the Ko'olau Ballrooms to be our wedding venue because we love the gorgeous tropical outdoor garden backdrop of the majestic and gorgeous Ko'olau Mountain ranges that show the true beauty of Hawaii instead of having a typical beach wedding. Also, they have the gorgeous tropical indoor waterfalls as an alternative. We loved our wedding day experience with the Ko'olau Ballroooms! The communication with Merri Ford (Event Service Manager of KB) was very smooth, responsive and professional! The staff are extremely nice as well! Ko'olau Ballrooms is such a GORGEOUS venue with luscious and scenic mountain backdrop of the Ko'olau mountains. Up to this day, our wedding guests who came from all over the world to our wedding day in Ko'olau Ballrooms in O'ahu couldn't stop talking about our wedding venue and told us that our wedding was the most magical and best wedding that they've ever attended! I also would like to add that their food was EXCELLENT and DELICIOUS!!! Our wedding guests couldn't stop talking about the food as well. We chose the Ilikai package that came with almost everything including a gorgeous Ice Sculpture with our names on it. The venue itself is very classy, gorgeous and clean! Highly recommend!!!

Ko’olau is a gorgeous venue for a wedding with the mountains and green landscape as the background. We booked our event a year and a half in advance with Abbie but Merri ended up being our event services coordinator. Both Abbie and Merri were very accommodating and patient when explaining the details of our wedding package to us. We went with the Ilima package: Outdoor garden for ceremony and glass ballroom for the reception with the indoor waterfall lobby as a backup in case of rain. We were able to communicate via phone and email while we were in California and face-to-face multiple times when we came back home to Hawaii. The venue is very clean, accommodating, and even has a backup plan for rain (which happens often on this side of the island). On the day of our rehearsal, 3 days before the wedding it was overcast, a little hot/humid, but no rain. We were ok with that. Historically the Saturday we got married only had less than 5% chance of rain but on the day of our wedding it ended up thunder storming due to a tropical storm nearby. Merri and her team along with our coordinator Natalie and Aloha Bridal Connections made the transition from our outside ceremony venue to the inside waterfall seamless without worrying me, the bride. From time to time Merri would be out of the office running other events but other team members, like Stephen were more than helpful in her absence. The food selection was amazing! All of our guests were full. Even our bar tab (hosted via 2 drink tickets per person) was lower than we expected. We hired a hula halau, Ring of Fire, and Merri was able to meet with them to figure out the logistics and rider the company requested. All in all it was a very successful planning process and event day. I’m disappointed it thunder stormed and we couldn’t get the pictures/videos we wanted outside, but Merri assured us we were welcome to come back later (when there’s zero chance of rain) to re-do our pictures in the spaces we wanted. I would recommend Ko’olau Ballrooms for future events.

Such a beautiful venue! Our ceremony at the Outdoor Garden area (right outside the glass ballrooms) has such a breathtaking backdrop of the Koolau mountains for our pictures. They have so many amenities and are very organized. They really supported what we wanted to do and made sure to make it all happen perfectly. We had 300 guests and hosted everyone comfortably in the Grand Ballroom. Everybody RAVED about how amazing the food was!! People really show up when they know there will be good food! Every staff member was polite, friendly, and helpful. We would highly recommend this venue!

We fell in love with this location the moment we visited - you can't beat the koolau mountain view!! Plus, their service is just wonderful. It's a bit costly, which is why we had to limit our guests, but it was worth having our wedding there!

It was private picturesque and romantic. Being on the otherside of Oahu it gave our guests an opportunity to see the beautiful green and browns of the Ko'olau Mountains and Valley. The food was EXQUISITE and our catering manager followed all our directives to a tee. Many of our guests claimed that the food was the best they had ever tasted and that the reception was the best they had ever attended! The venue is clean classy and modern.;If you are not from Oahu it is quite easy for guests to become lost in transit from Honolulu to the location itself.
