We were very excited to have booked this venue for our May 1, 2020 wedding. We loved the great downtown location, even if the venue itself was a little shabby (it needs a new coat ...
of paint, and the carpet is frayed). Despite that, it had a beautiful view and was within our budget. We also decided to go with their catering services because they charge a fee for outside catering (even though they will tell you that they allow it without mentioning the fee). So we felt we had to use their full services, which was frustrating, but we had paid for the venue by the time we found out about the fee and decided to continue with their services.
However, as our wedding approached, we realized we would not be able to have our wedding due to the spreading global pandemic.
This was a hard time for us, so we contacted Kress to see what their plan was,but they didn't have one. I called to ask questions to get a game plan together (we had paid in full at this point and I was wondering what downsizing our wedding would look like and ask a few other questions), but the woman I talked to ended up yelling at me and hanging up on me. After that, no one would talk to me and all correspondence was through email, which they do take several days to respond and never quite answer your questions. They offered to move our wedding, but we couldn't move the date, due to our personal situation and how far we have to travel for the wedding (we -now- live 15 hours from GSO).
They basically said they didn't care and would not refund us any of the money. We tried to work with them for a partial refund, considering we had paid in full, but they flat out said no. We understand that this is a hard time for everyone, but they wouldn't even try to be flexible and didn't even pretend to care about our situation. Also, they didn't care about the pandemic and were planning to host a wedding for a couple hundred people until the government said they couldn't. For a wedding company, the lack of compassion I felt during this time for me and the community was incredibly disheartening. We ended up having to take legal action against them to get some of the money we paid for a service they couldn't fulfill.
If you want a cheap location downtown, this is it, but don't expect good customer service, quick responses, and please please please don't pay in full, because even an act of god won't entitle you to any kind of refund.
My wedding was this past Sunday February 16th we rented Kress Terrace and Suite 300. On initial meeting the staff was amazing HOWEVER, once we decided we did not want to use their ...
decorationing or catering company the customer service drastically went downhill. We paid to have the venue for 9 hours, had to pay an additional $200 just to get that ONE additional hour. We booked the venue 1:30-10:30pm. Our catering staff and decoration team arrived PROMPTLY at 130pm to begin setup. All doors to the building were locked. They were not gained access until about 150pm. The person on scene stated she was the building manager her name was CHARITY. she was not a pleasant person. My wedding coordinator pointed out that the chair covers were dirty and needed to be replaced and CHARITY told the coordinator that was not her job. Mind you the venue provided the chair covers so it was most definitely her job!. The bridal suit to Kress terrace was locked and Charity told my staff she wasnt opening it. When I arrived at the venue at 230pm the front door was still locked and Charity told my coordinator she was not going to open it and advised her I could walk through the parking deck to gain entry IN MY WEDDING DRESS. once cocktail hour started they were serving beer and wine and would so beer , wine and two signature drinks once it was moved to suite 300. We prepaid $750 and would add more once that amount was gone. Well according to the bar staff who by the way had horrible attitude as well once the reception started he claimed the money was already gone! There is NO WAY IN HELL in just one hour $750 is gone just off beer and wine. My coordinator asked them to show her the print out proving the money was gone and they could not provide it to her. Charity made the comment "we have a good system on monitoring it" but never showed the print out of the charges. Prior to our wedding we read reviews about the bar service double charging for drinks but was "assured " that it was a misunderstanding smh. After the wedding Charity told my clean up staff that the trash had to be removed and put in VEHICLES to be taken off property! For one who would put trash bags inside their vehicle? We asked if it was a dumpster on sight and she stated it was not. I pulled out the contract and showed her that it did not say anything about putting trash in our vehicle and she agrees and told us to just bag it and leave it. We called today to speak to the manger MICHELLE and explained out concerns and she basically cut us off and said you all should have removed the trash and put it in our vehicle. We paid this venue 3K and received bad attitude, unprofessionalism and horrible hospitality. I wouldn't refer this venue to my worse enemy. They ruin my wedding day
Kress brought our dream of a romantic rooftop wedding to life! They were very easy to work with, and accommodated every question we had along the way. Everyone loved the venue! ...
They were able to turn the space on the terrace from our ceremony to our reception with no problem. The reception dinner area inside turned out absolutely stunning. The bridal suite is small - we got ready offsite, but still had plenty of room for the groomsmen and the bridesmaids to hang out in the restrooms before the ceremony. We're so happy with our choice! Kress holds a special place in our hearts.

We had a blast at our wedding on the Kress Terrace! Everything went smoothly on our wedding day and ALL of the staff members were so nice and helpful. Planning was made much easier...
because they take care of so many of the components that it made life much less stressful. We had such a great experience and our day was amazing. Thanks Kress!

er day and night in any location that would compare to here! Our 2017 NYE wedding and reception still has everyone talking!
Loved it and would recommend here a thousand times over. Look forward to hosting other events here in our future!

w up, and not providing all items purchased. Some of the major issues include: - The missing late night appetizers - we requested three and zero were provided. - The missing cake cutting knife and plate that we specifically confirmed. - The missing coffee station. - The manager on duty (not anyone we had met with prior to the wedding day) asking during the wedding who received the vegetarian and gluten free meals which we had included information weeks in advance. - We thought it was strange to have a manager for the reception that we had never talked to or met. The individual we were informed that would be present, Michelle, showed up for about 30 minutes and never greeted. - There were timing issues that took place and things did not go smoothly. A large majority of guests complained about the rudeness of one of the bartenders, inexperience of the staff, lack of busing/cleaning tables, no butter for the rolls, no salt/pepper on tables, running out of alcohol. It was explained to us that evening 'that Visions had a lot of events going on that evening' - not a justification for lack of professionalism at our event. After the event we followed up with company. No response. Four weeks later we followed up again. They finally replied and said they would follow up again. No response. Three weeks later we followed up again. Finally, they are offering us a $74.00 refund and dinner for 25 people for all of the above. This is unacceptable - the last thing we would like is more of their service that we were clearly dissatisfied with. We spent approximately $10,000.00 at this venue and expect more than a $74.00 refund and dinner for 25.
Kress was 30 min late to multiple scheduled appointments. When they eventually arrived, they weren't prepared and in the end our appointments to plan our wedding were a waste of ti...
me because the layout was all wrong. The servers were dressed in old t-shirts while all of our guests were in suits or tux. Our guests were warned to "a fine if we have to stay 1 minute over 11pm" and confiscated cigarettes from guests mouths and hands instead of notifying us (groom and bride) so we could ask guest to stop smoking. The contract did not state "no smoking" so we were very surprised when after the wedding the guest advised us of what happened. So unprofessional.
Beautiful place to have a wedding and everything was perfect! Thank you to all my vendors that made it great. The SUITE 300 part of Kress Terrace is amazing, we booked both venues...
and my guests are still talking about it two months later. The in house catering kept our budget in check and we got everything included and it was beautiful. My bridesmaid loved it so much she's doing a style shoot there this spring. Great outdoor views too.
I really didn't want to write this negative review on a public forum but the company left me no choice.
Michele was significantly late (20-40 minutes) to every single meeting we h...
ad over the next 11 months leading up to our wedding. She was inconsistent with communication, often taking up to a week to respond to emails. As a bride and a customer, this was very frustrating.
When we signed our contract, we opted into the payment plan at first. They were to pull payment on the 1st each month. After a second month of them not pulling payment until the 9th or later, we decided to pay in full. We were assured that if we overpaid for guests, we would be issued a refund.
When we met with Michele to finalize our floor plan, another woman who worked for Visions plopped down drunkenly at our table. She slurred out a series of f-bombs, telling us if anyone didn't like what we were going to do for our wedding that they could "f-ck themselves." And threw up her middle fingers. It went on for so long, my husband and I were both uncomfortable.
On the day of our wedding, Michele was nowhere to be found. The only contact was a "day-of coordinator" whom I had never met. I found that to be pretty unprofessional.
Sure enough, expectations that we had finalized with Michele were not met because this woman had no idea what we wanted. The bartender chose to open the bar early, hence not honoring our contract. This lead to him "closing" the open bar early and he began charging our guests for drinks. This was completely unacceptable to me, and neither Michele nor Visions Catering has followed up on this with me.
The staff was inattentive and exhausted during our entire event. The reason I know they were exhausted is because they all complained about what a busy weekend it has been. To me. The bride. Are you kidding?
My wedding was treated with no excitement or enthusiasm by Visions Catering or the employees. They made it explicitly clear that they do that type of thing all the time. They positively couldn't wait to go home.
The worst thing is that it took them over two months to refund our deposit and overpayment for guests. I called and called only to find a full voicemail box. I emailed a dozen times. Michele responded once to say our check had been shipped on 11/4 and again with some excuses about how she didn't know where our refund was. Finally on the 12/18, two months after our wedding, we received our check.
We did them a professional courtesy by paying in full. We deserved the same courtesy with a timely refund.
This company is disorganized, unprofessional, and lacks customer service. A wedding is a big deal and they treated us like we were throwing an office party or something.
The food was good, the atmosphere was great, but I warn anyone who wishes to have their wedding here that you won't be made to feel like a valued guest by the employees. We were treated like an inconvenience at best. Yikes.

tairs at the indoor/outdoor Kress Terrace.
We had open bar for our guests, and they provided an indoor and outdoor bar.
Thank you, Kress Terrace, for making my special day a dream come true.
PERFECT! Everything was just perfect on our wedding day! I would recommend the Kress venues to anyone looking in Greensboro. We thoroughly enjoyed our ceremony out on the rooftop, ...
cocktail hour in the Terrace ballroom, went down on the street and took incredible pics - we used JW Photography, another excellent choice - then had our reception dinner in the Suite 300 part. I couldn't find it on here but go tour the rooftop Kress Terrace and you'll also get to see that venue. We had late night dancing on the rooftop with the Edison lights on. All of our food was great, service was on point and everything was more beautiful than we expected. Thank you Kress!!!

errace was the perfect choice. The rooftop is beautiful with great views and a big indoor ballroom as well. The chandeliers and soft neutral colors made it easy to decorate with our navy and blush pinks. They have very nice chairs and a wide variety of linens to choose from. We had a rehearsal the day before and they were helpful at all times when we needed assistance. Our reception was great, the food and service was wonderful and we had a blast. They even boxed up leftovers for us and made sure we had everything. I loved everything about our wedding and would do it all over again. We were told to visit next time in town and plan to do just that!

Valerie A Schwalbach That is exactly what I figured. Now if she were to cater to everyone like she caters to her friends. Easy to praise your friends.
I do not see a listing yet for Suite 300, which is fairly new, but it is owned by the same individuals who own/run Kress Terrace. As other reviewers have mentioned, contacting them...
can be difficult, but I was usually able to sort anything out through the Visions Catering contact number as that is who owns both venues. They are incredibly helpful though and will go to almost any lengths to keep their clients happy.
As for the space, Suite 300 is GORGEOUS. I like the space significantly more than I did Kress Terrace, but that's just a matter of taste! Working with the Visions folks takes some patience and some persistence, but the end result is DEFINITELY worth it!
This vendor, as well as Suite 300 (owned by the same people) do not respond to emails, contact forms or phone calls. Good luck booking with them. Over the period of a week, I fille...
d out the contact form on both websites, and sent 2 emails inquiring about having my wedding there. After no response, I decided to give them a call. What a surprise--the only listed phone number has a full voicemail box, and you cannot leave any messages. This has been a very frustrating experience. I can only assume they are out of business.
The venue is gorgeous. We got married during the week so it was a great value!
Kress Terrace was booked a year in advance. The groom & I loved the location, and the view is stunning. A few months before the wedding, however, it got bought out by Visions Cater...
ing. The change in ownership wasn't a difficult transition. They said, for the most part, our contract would be honored. The main bump was that we were initially bringing out own alcohol, but Kress Terrace's new liquor license wouldn't allow this. This wasn't a huge issue but definitely not what the groom & I originally wanted. Also, Kress Terrace now handles rentals, so you don't need to go to another company for that (a plus in my opinion).
Also, I don't know why, but after the change in ownership, I had a lot of difficulty getting in contact with Kress Terrace. I just could not get a response in an appropriate amount of time (never got a response from the offical Kress, Vision, and owners' e-mail addresses; the wedding planner did an ok job. She responded quickly at first, but that stopped after the 3rd e-mail). Perhaps they respond better by phone? Anyways, I found this to be an unnecessary stressor, and the groom's father had to step in. There was no difficulty with contact after that, so perhaps it had to do with age? Who knows. He said they were extremely accommodating with him and had a pleasant experience.
Location and scenery are so pretty. Music will be asked to be cut off around 11 (even if you have the venue until midnight). I liked Kress Terrace when working with the previous owner, but from my personal experience, the current owner did not exceed my expectations. If given the choice, I'd choose elsewhere. You might have a better experience though!

ckily it stopped before my guests started arriving and actually helped to cool the temperature down very nicely. My guest really enjoyed being able to go outside and cool down after some dancing and also for the kids who came were be able to run around a bit more without bumping into everyone and everything. The night shots were also beautiful with the lights of the city. The people at Kress were awesome as well. I am from NY and so anytime one of my family members would come to visit, we'd arrange to meet someone at Kress so they could see it. They were awesome about meeting us whenever we wanted. My only issue was a door for the room I was supposed to hide in wasn't unlocked for me, so the caterer had to call to get the code to open it. But I was refunded that money promptly from the venue to make up for that. I also received my deposit back very quickly which is always nice! I loved it and wouldn't change a thing!

ght were so beautiful on the rooftop. We could not have asked for a more beautiful night, which made everything so much better. I spoke to Melissa prior to everything, and she had everything set up for me exactly like I asked her to. She even had customized floor plans for me to make everything easier to set-up and also so we could tell the vendors were they needed to be. We had the ceremony and dance floor on the rooftop, which I would recommend to everyone. And we had the reception and food inside the banquet room. Everything looked so amazing, and I'm so happy everything came together to make our day even more special.

at might sneak up on you. We loved the idea of having the wedding outside but our tent was $1500. So the price for the venue went from $2000 to $3500. Melissa who works for the Kress Terrace is very personable but struggles with getting back to you.
Kress Terrace is a great, great location. The rooftop terrace really gives a great view and is something totally different. It's also a great location downtown so if anyone wants...
to continue the party you can just go across the street. But, other than that, it is a lot of extra fees and the manager/management company is not fun to deal with. The very first time my fiance and I were going to go look at the venue, the property manager stood us up. No phone call or anything. She gave us 15% off, but my fiance never got another chance to go see it before the wedding. And thank goodness she gave us the 15% off because if she hadn't we couldn't have afforded the place with all the fees we encountered throughout the process. All you get with the venue rental is the place and the tables and chairs. If you want a dance floor, that's another fee, and you kind of have to get a dance floor because of the way the concrete is laid on the roof. If you want the outside folding chairs, that's another fee per chair, they have chair covers, but that's another fee, if you use a non-preferred caterer that's another fee, plus they have to pay 10% of your catering total to Kress, which you end up paying for your caterer. If you don't have someone to clean up, they charge for that as well. It started as a budget-friendly location but by the end of the wedding it wore a hole in my dad's pocket. I would only recommend this location to someone who has a bigger budget for their venue because it really does add up quick.
it is a unique location on a rooftop overlooking downtown Greensboro. We loved taking pictures outside on the terrace. After the reception we headed downstairs to the disco club ...
Inferno and had a great time.;We were supposed to have an onsite Kress manager at our event to help facilitate the reception(as stated in our contract)... no one from the Kress was there for our event. The room was entirely too hot and our guests were complaining. Our caterer tried repeatedly to get in touch with the Kress manager but could never get a response. It was disappointing since we thought a manager would be there to help coordinate our event. The Kress Terrace is pricey and for what we paid someone should have been there to make sure the event ran smoothly. Also it was hard for our DJ to setup in our location because the only entrance is through the parking deck and his truck was too big to fit. The DJ had to make several trips by a small elevator carrring up heavy equipment.
The Kress Terrace is located in downtown Greensboro, NC. The reception was indoor/outdoor rooftop. The city lights lit-up the evening and it was beautiful!
Kress Terrace is a nice location with great views of downtown Greensboro. The outside patio makes this location fantastic.;The air conditioning wasn't as good as I would have liked...
it got a bit hot during the reception inside (although keep in mind I was wearing a big dress and we were in the middle of some unusually warm weather).
I loved that my reception venue had a beautiful view and made my wedding picture perfect.;There is nothing I would have to warn people about.
