Krystal Kast Photography

he was in making our day special. She took the time to understand what mattered most to us, the vibe we were going for, and the specific moments we didn’t want to miss, and that care and intentionality showed up in every part of her work. Krystal is also incredibly organized and detail-oriented! Her communication leading up to the wedding was clear and proactive, and she built a thoughtful timeline that made the entire day flow seamlessly. She anticipated little timing shifts before they became stressful and adjusted effortlessly, which meant we never felt rushed. Even more, her calm, warm presence was such a gift and put us both at ease so we could be present, soak it all in, and truly experience the joy of the celebration. Our photos are nothing short of exceptional and beautifully capture the magic of the big emotional moments down to the small fleeting details we might have otherwise missed. We enthusiastically recommend her to any couple looking for an amazing photographer who will not only deliver stunning images but also make your wedding day feel calm, joyful, and truly unforgettable!

calm, and genuinely cares, which made a huge difference throughout the whole process. I am obsessed with our photos—they are beyond beautiful and captured our day perfectly. I can’t stop looking at them. Krystal is incredibly talented, and I’m so grateful we had her as our photographer. I would recommend her to anyone in a heartbeat.

atience, and genuine care shone through in every interaction, making our big day feel effortless and joyful. She captured every laugh, every tear, and every little detail so beautifully and naturally—we will treasure these memories forever. If we ever had the chance to redo our special day, we would choose Krystal every single time. We simply cannot recommend her enough!

ing day, she was everywhere all at once and took photos of every single guest and important moment. We recently got our wedding photos back and could not be more thrilled. She did a perfect job of capturing all of the "staged" portrait photos, as well as countless candid photos that perfectly captured the emotions of the day. The photos are flawless and we have had a blast going through them and sharing them with our guests. I cannot recommend booking Krystal enough - it was the best decision we made for our wedding (besides marrying each other, hah).

nning made the photo taking process go seamlessly on our wedding day, and we fully trusted that she would capture all of the important moments of our day— and she delivered! We’re so in love with how our photos turned out, and we’re so thankful that Krystal so beautifully captured those memories. Thank you Krystal for being the best!!

os and captured every moment of our wedding day, including photos of all our family and friends and of each wedding detail and item of decor. Everyone was right that your wedding day flies by in an instant, and we felt so grateful to be able to relive every second with Krystal's photos. On top of being an incredible and detail-oriented photographer, Krystal is so kind and is a calming presence to have on your special day. She immediately helped us wipe away any nerves and made us feel special and celebrated! In short, we love, love, loved(!) having Krystal as our wedding photographer and highly recommend her!

everything was perfect and that we were truly enjoying every moment. She had this incredible ability to capture the most beautiful, authentic moments without us even realizing she was doing it. Not the mention — the photos are absolutely breathtaking!! Beyond her talent, Krystal made both my husband and I feel so comfortable, which was so important to me as I am not usually the most comfortable in front of a camera. Krystal was more than just a photographer — she enhanced the entire experience. She felt like a friend who was genuinely invested in making our day as perfect as possible and we could tell she cared about our experience just as much as we did. If you’re looking for a photographer who is not only incredibly talented but also kind, thoughtful, supportive, and fully dedicated to making your day special, look no further. Krystal is simply the best!

re of a fairy godmother with a camera -- part friend, part artist, part counselor and champion and conductor and protector and visionary. She made us feel so comfortable and calm while being the most encouraging and supportive person in the room, and she moved mountains to make sure we got the photos (and the wedding day) of our dreams. Krystal captured every moment more beautifully than we could have ever imagined, she shepherded us through day-of chaos with expertise and grace, and she was without a doubt the best decision we made for our wedding. My husband and I are not super comfortable in front of a camera, but Krystal's enthusiasm and kind direction changed that completely, and the experience of seeing ourselves through her lens was really special. The photos are the only ones we've ever seen of ourselves that show us the way we see each other -- they depict us the way we feel, not just the way we look. It's like Krystal bottled up every ounce of magic and joy from the day and saved it for us forever, The photos are romantic, real, timeless, and fun. Krystal's talent and heart are truly a gift to every couple she works with. Do yourself a favor and hire her now -- right now!

photographer. From my bridal portraits to the day of the wedding. She constantly made everything seamless. I am not one who loves taking photos and she made me feel so comfortable and actually enjoy the moment taking the photos by making me laugh and warm up. Weddings are so intimate and having someone standing there capturing every moment (vows and all) can be uncomfortable, but she made it seem like she wasn’t even there. Truly, looking back at some of the photos we looked and thought “we didn’t even realize she was there in that moment?!” But there she was capturing every single detail and moment. I couldn’t imagine going through my wedding without her as the photographer!

e everything feel effortless, capturing every special moment without being intrusive. Her warm and friendly demeanor made us feel comfortable in front of the camera, and she truly brought out the best in us and our guests. The quality of her work is absolutely amazing, and we're so grateful for the beautiful memories she's captured.

ortant vendor of the day. she is with you from the moment you get ready until the lights go off. it is imperative to be extremely picky and selective when choosing this person. and that person is krystal. she made us feel like ourselves, was a part of the entire day seamlessly, and we can't wait to find more reasons to have her capture our family moments. we love you, krystal!

eekend - including so many stunning photos of our guests - while seamlessly blending into the background. She made us feel comfortable in front of the camera, which resulted in images that we will treasure for the rest of our lives. We also received so many compliments from our guests and bridal party about how great she was to work with!

she also went above and beyond to ensure that nothing dampened our spirits - not even the rain! When unexpected rain threatened to derail our outdoor wedding, Krystal didn't hesitate to jump right in with us, embracing the elements to capture the most breathtaking shots imaginable. Her dedication and enthusiasm were truly remarkable, and it made our day even more unforgettable. Beyond her exceptional talent behind the lens, Krystal brought a sense of joy and warmth to our wedding day. They were a calming presence amidst the chaos, effortlessly guiding us through each shot with professionalism and care. Needless to say, the final images exceeded our wildest expectations, each one telling a story of love, laughter, and joy. We are endlessly grateful to Krystal for her incredible work and for going the extra mile to make our day absolutely perfect. If you're searching for a wedding photographer who will not only capture your moments but also become a cherished part of them, look no further than Krystal. She is simply the best! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, Krystal, for making our wedding day truly magical! We would choose you again in a heartbeat.

rt in our collaboration. Her meticulous attention to detail ensured she captured every significant moment, weaving together a visual narrative that perfectly encapsulated our love story. Words can't express our gratitude for her outstanding work – we wholeheartedly recommend Krystal to anyone and everyone!

e of how much of the emotion and joy was captured. Krystal was an absolute DREAM to work with. From the very beginning (nearly a year out from our wedding date!) she was invested in making sure my wedding day was perfect. She is very familiar with a lot of the Triangle venues and knew many of my vendors - she gave me day of planning and coordination advice right off the bat. She has such a cool, calm presence that you can't help but feel calm around her. The photo sessions never felt forced or awkward, and they turned out absolutely STUNNING - tons of B&W, various tones...I was absolutely blown away. I didn't even plan a shot list with her but she captured every single little detail without instruction. Her counterpart Brad was also an absolute joy. He knows how to make the experience fun and the groomsmen really enjoyed having him around pre ceremony. I would work with Krystal and team over and over again...I am truly sad it's over!

otos) would not have been complete without her. Her work is timeless, elegant and beautiful. Krystal was the first vendor we hired. We made sure our wedding venue and date was available in coordination with her availability -- we knew she had to be a part of our journey as we wanted both film and digital photos with heirloom quality, worthy of a publication or to cherish for years to come. Her work is truly exquisite. Krystal has a way of capturing moments with true emotion, finding the essence of her subjects and capturing movement in static images, while creating a beautiful moment in time that feels like a crisp memory when you close your eyes. Her work takes you back to that exact moment captured and you can relive it; you feel her work. She has a way with people that is second to none -- gently managing flower girls, grandmothers and other guests, while keeping pace of a tight wedding schedule, getting the necessary shots and racing weather if need be. She can capture the best side of anyone, from people who are uncomfortable in front of the camera to those who are the utmost photogenic. You know you are always in good hands with Krystal. While not one detail was missed, Krystal managed to be stealthy and her presence was never overbearing or obvious. Her direction is clear, she worked really well with our videographer, and she has the perfect balance between professional and artist. She made it fun and her smile can calm any nerves. We hope to have future opportunities to work with Krystal again. She is officially in the family! If you are looking for a photographer -- look no further!

shoot the engagement photos. She was also very flexible regarding our busy schedules. We had never had professional photos taken before, but she made it very easy and natural for us. We instantly hit it off as she has a warm personality. She went the extra mile to ensure we loved our engagement photos. Krystal also made every effort to understand both my husband and me, our journey, and what we wanted for the vision of our wedding photos. She executed amazingly and I had so many friends reach out asking for her name and contact information. We loved how she incorporated flash photography and captured candid, real moments. It transports us back to the day every time we flick through our photos. We were also very impressed with Krystal’s delicate care with understanding family dynamics. We have large extended families and she made sure to get all the family portraits, gave lots of thought to family groupings, and was able to still keep everything moving smoothly on schedule. Aside from family, our friends also loved Krystal and her team. They were simply lots of fun and kept up such a high energy and vibe throughout the night which naturally led to some amazing photos of our guests. She was open to ideas on the day for a special request regarding portraits to be taken in the nearby arboretum and they turned out so beautifully. I will truly cherish these wedding portraits for the rest of my life. Thank you so much to Krystal and her lovely team for being crucial to our wedding day. I would highly recommend Krystal and her team for anyone looking for timeless photography and exceptional professionalism.

gets the job done efficiently but also makes it fun :) I HIGHLY recommend Krystal for your wedding or event photography - you won't regret it!!

e about how amazing our photography team was! We received our galleries back quickly and her photography left us speechless. She has an incredible eye for wedding photography and I will cherish my photos forever!

gagement session at our home in another state, so she instead offered to cover more time during our wedding day (just one of many options she offered). She captured some of my most treasured memories. For as many photos as are taken on a wedding day, I never felt awkward or "over" taking pictures. She made posing easy and natural for everyone. She took incredible digital AND film photographs and she made sure to capture the types of photos that we felt were most important to us. I have SO many incredible candids of myself and my husband, our wedding parties, our families and friends. She captured moments that I didn't get to witness on the actual day. Krystal is so incredibly kind and easy to work with and I would choose her over and over again. You will not go wrong if you choose her to photograph any special day of yours.

and traveled to me so I could have bridal portraits done (and I'm so glad I did – they're gorgeous!). I loved having that time to get to know Krystal one on one, too! Our wedding photos are also stunning, and she delivered them to us so quickly! We've had the best time looking through. So so glad we were able to work together!!

day of and she made us feel so comfortable and knew exactly which moments to capture without us telling her specifically. She is not only talented and took the most beautiful photos of us, our venue, our family & friends, but also was the most kind person to work with and to have on our team during the day (and leading up to the wedding). I highly recommend Krystal for your wedding day!

beautiful. Krystal really captured our special moment in the most magical way possible. And an added bonus is that she is the absolute coolest to be around <3

cherish them for a lifetime!

photographic angel sent from above”. In the midst of her own personal family concerns, Krystal not only found a way to travel to the Dominican Republic for our wedding but also coordinated with a local photographer who captured some of the most incredible, memorable, and entertaining photos from our wedding – both from the beach and from the sky. Imagine this, the resort at which we had the wedding, found every conceivable way to botch and bungle every selection, decision, and specific request that we had made. Things were not going our way, but then, comes our opportunity to work with Krystal on our pre-wedding session. Across the resort, saunters over this wonderful human, clad in Indiana Jones-esque leather holsters of photography who proceeded to work harder and more efficiently than the poor souls shoveling coal into the bowels of the Titanic as it sank. One difference – Krystal not only kept our wedding afloat, despite the best efforts of the resort, but provided us memories that our resort-provided videographers missed time and time again. Heading to the bar for a drink? Krystal gets the shot. Flexing some of the worst dance moves in your arsenal? Yup, she got it. Giving your new wife an impromptu lap dance in the middle of the dance floor? Oh, you KNOW she’s got that! I’m not sure they’ve come up with a rating scale that can accurately capture both the quantity and quality of work that Krystal provides. I honestly couldn’t give her enough stars, and a scale of 10 is underselling her ability and work ethic by a mile. Seamlessly changing out cameras, lenses, perspectives, and subjects, Krystal provided us with so many photos that it overwhelmed even my mother. And honestly, more important than Krystal’s abilities, is how wonderful of a person she is and how much of joy she was to work with. She’s so friendly, accommodating, and an absolute dream to work with. If you’re not working with Krystal Kast, you’re making a mistake.

tographs. Thankfully we did and we could not have made a better choice than Krystal Kast Photography! We connected from our very first meeting and were amazed at how much fun Krystal made the day. It is a testament to Krystal’s vision and professionalism that she was able to make the complete experience so very special for us. We loved all the images that Krystal was able to capture and regrettably for us when it came to decision-making time there was not a bad one in the bunch. So many beautiful images and memories captured and re-lived every time we look at these pictures! Krystal felt more like one of our close friends or family members than a vendor and was incredibly patient as we kept thinking of more images we wanted to capture. She definitely went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. She guided our group to make sure we were able to get everything we wanted but was also very flexible and patient. The images from our day bring out the exact memories we wanted. Since we are older, we can appreciate these images even more as we are well aware of how quickly life can change. We sincerely appreciate her energy and dedication and feel that she made the day even more special and meaningful. If anyone is looking for the perfect person to trust capturing these precious memories perfectly, we would highly recommend Krystal Kast Photography.

rsal dinner and captured such wonderful moments! We are having a hard time choosing the best pictures because there are so many to choose from.

estions, brainstorm, and because she genuinely cared to get to know us better before our wedding day. She took control when needed and most importantly made us feel calm and relaxed throughout the day and night. We dodged on and off rain the entire day but she monitored it and made sure to get the best shots when it wasn't pouring! Lastly, Krystal goes above and beyond what she is hired to do. She was around for much longer than contracted and also made sure we kept on schedule the entire day. She is incredibly talented but also just someone you want to have as part of your day. She is someone who made it so special and memorable for us. If you are reading this review, hurry up and hire her! Thank you Krystal!

the job done for posed pics and her candids are super cool and fun. Highly recommend. ~Betsy B

amazing. However, on our wedding day, she went above and beyond. She made us feel so comfortable. She not only took photos but helped us in so many other ways that weren’t even her job (she helped zip my dress and put on my shoes!). She is beyond fabulous! So professional.

le and listens well to what you want. She prepares a series of questions ahead of time to ensure that on the day of things go as planned. She is very fun and easy to work with while providing quality work!

ographer, but she is one of the kindest and most genuine people you will ever met. From our first phone call to the last photo on our wedding night, Krystal made my husband and I feel so special, comfortable, and like her number one priority. She is extremely organized and communicative with such a warm and calming presence. Booking her as our first vendor truly set the tone for everything and having her there on our wedding day gave me great peace knowing everything would be perfect. And I haven’t even gotten to the photographs…which are STUNNING! I knew based on our engagement session that the wedding photos would be magical, but they are even more perfect than I imagined. Krystal expertly captured every detail of our special day and I truly felt like we were reliving each moment through the photos. The joy was so palpable and authentic and the photography is timeless and beautiful. As everyone says, your wedding day goes by so quickly, so having these precious photos for a lifetime is such an amazing gift. You can truly tell how much heart and soul Krystal pours into her work and her couples. We were so grateful to have Krystal as part of our team and so lucky to get to know her during this process! Krystal, thank you a million times over!

easy and we have received so many compliments on our pictures. Booking Krystal for your wedding/event photographer is one of the best decisions you will make - I can’t recommend her enough!

me stay on track with my planning efforts and made sure our wedding day went off without a hitch! She is extremely well-organized, communicative in the exact right amount (never gave us information overload and also never left me with additional questions), and made us feel so comfortable during our engagement shoot and on our wedding day. Not to mention her work product is PERFECT - she captured every moment seamlessly and organically, never making any element feel like a "production". I could not have asked for a better photographer – meeting and working with her was one of the many highlights of the whole season for us. Krystal, we appreciate you so much and are so grateful to have had you as a part of this special time!

ing, supportive of my crazy ideas, and incredibly knowledgable about how to make the most incredible pictures fit seamlessly into my wedding day. We chose to work with Krystal because of her timeless, artful, documentary-esque style of photography. We wanted to remember our wedding day exactly as it was, without all of the trendy filters and stiffly-posed portraits, and Krystal made that happen. She and her second shooter had the uncanny ability to wrangle all of our wild family and friends into beautiful, authentic portraits, capture all of the tiniest details and make them look beautiful, and simultaneously be everywhere at once without being intrusive. She was able to capture every photo on my shot list as well as every. single. guest at my wedding. My favorite part about Krystal Kast's photography is her reception photos -- she didn't shy away from the fun, candid photos, and I will always be grateful to have those moments captured. All in all, can't recommend her enough.

s of fine art. Beyond that, Krystal is a wonderful human being. She brings total love, kindness and support to every interaction. She was so great to work with before, during and after both engagement and wedding photo shoots. The personal connection that she creates is evident in how amazing the photos are. I can't imagine having anyone else as my photographer to capture these special moments and be there on such a special day.

not be any more happy with the way our wedding day photos turned out. She also did a fabulous job for our engagement photos, even traveling to meet us in the city we currently live. She is so talented and definitely knows how to get the best lighting, angles and backgrounds. She even got to the location early to scope out all of the best spots. I wish I could describe better how fantastic our pictures are. Not only were the pictures gorgeous and perfect, Krystal was so amazing to work with throughout. Even while being insanely busy due to the amount of weddings during this crazy COVID time, she was incredibly responsive and organized throughout. Out of all of our vendors, she was so professional from our first phone meeting and continues to be over communicative even now that our wedding day is over. I knew I could count on her from our very first phone call. She also has the best demeanor and was such a calm and fun presence on our day. I felt so relaxed in all our pictures because of the environment she helped create. Krystal is truly the BEST! I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend for your special day. You will not regret it.

wedding due to COVID. On the day of our wedding, Krystal was extremely efficient and professional with setting up the portrait shots and creating relaxed and natural poses for me and my husband as well as our wedding party and families. Throughout the ceremony and reception, Krystal faded into the background and allowed us and our guests to enjoy ourselves to the fullest extent while also capturing amazing candid photos that preserved our wedding day to perfection. When we received our photos back, we were completely stunned with how many amazing photos we had from our special day and we are so excited to have them as memories to look back on in the coming years. Krystal’s photography is so dreamy and romantic and we couldn’t be happier with the final product. We were extremely happy with our experience with Krystal Kast Photography and would recommend her very highly!

for our engagement photos, she made us feel incredibly comfortable and confident. Krystal supported us throughout the process of postponing our wedding and was helpful in every way - providing advice/guidance when you asked and giving you honest answers during some tough decisions. Fast forward to our wedding day, we cannot say enough good things about Krystal. Besides being an incredibly talented photographer (which is obvious if you look at her website or instagram for even 1 minute) but she is organized, thoughtful, responsive, direct, patient, flexible, and her overall positive and bubbly personality is felt throughout your wedding day. I titled our review "The Glue of the Wedding Vendor Team" because I truly think that is a representation of how Krystal works. She is so prepared and organized and thought through in advance how to efficiently and effectively photograph our wedding day to ensure everything we wanted was delivered - and then ensured to communicate it to us!! If you want a photographer that is truly amazing, professional, and supportive, you should be booking Krystal now. When we decided to postpone our wedding, we chose our new date around Krystal's availability because it was so important to have her part of our day. Thank you Krystal for everything!!!!

work with. She did an incredible job with our engagement session and wedding. Her personality makes everyone so comfortable, like you have been friends with her for years. My husband and I usually hate pictures of ourselves but it was hard to find a photo from the day that we did not like! When looking for our wedding photographer we were immediately drawn to her portfolio and how timeless and classic her photos were. When we got back our wedding day photos we were blown away on how much the day was depicted. Clicking through the photos truly told the story of our wedding day. We didn’t even miss not having a videographer! Not only did she get amazing photos of us, but she also captured amazing group photos of our guests. I feel when you attend a wedding, the photographer never asks to take a photo of you with your family or date, but Krystal went above and beyond making everyone feel important. Hands down would hire her again in a heartbeat if we had the chance.

incredible photos were delivered ON TIME and we could relive our daughter's perfect wedding day! She's a peerless professional with plenty of wisdom to share and the natural joy and good humor to dispel any jitters from flower girl to celebrant. We absolutely adore Krystal--she's a fantastic human being with a fabulous eye for catching moments we'll treasure forever. Don't hesitate--she's the one!

0 stars if we could. She did our engagement photos, bridal portraits, burying the bourbon, and wedding photos, and it was all perfect. I would frame every single photograph if that were possible! Working with her was a dream, and my husband and I continue to be blown away by the quality of her work. Going into wedding planning, photography was a high priority, and choosing to work with Krystal was the best decision ever. She is an incredibly talented artist, and also a wonderful person. She put me at ease from the first moment we met, and I had the pleasure of getting to know her very well over 2 years of wedding planning. Prior to the wedding, she shared recommendations for other vendors and was always responsive, warm, friendly, and professional. She was also proactive and organized, and shared an amazing guide to wedding photography to help us with our planning. All throughout the process, she made things so easy and it was so clear that she cared about us as a couple. On the wedding day, Krystal’s presence was calming and joyful. Being around her was honestly so grounding, and my mind was completely at ease because I trust her completely and knew she would capture every special moment beautifully. My jaw actually dropped when we received our wedding photographs. Somehow, Krystal was able to capture every single shot we had requested, and much, much more. Our wedding photos are even more breathtaking and dreamy than I ever could have imagined. Her work with natural light is just stunning. She perfectly captured the emotion, tenderness, and beauty of our wedding day, and it was so special being able to experience moments that I wasn't even a part of on the wedding day (like a heartfelt moment between the groom & his groomsmen). If I could do it all over again, I would choose Krystal in a heartbeat. She is an incredible person who we now call a dear friend, and we will forever cherish her photographs of the best day of our lives. She went above & beyond for us and we could not be more grateful. Thank you Krystal-- we love you!

with the products. She’s flexible and easy-going, willing to accommodate our locations for our engagement shoot and our large family pictures at the wedding. She was always on top of the day and I knew where we had to be when for the best shots. Our wedding day was captured perfectly and her excitement for photography and making the couple feel comfortable is what sets her apart! What was a nice bonus is when we received all the photos from the wedding, she had taken great ones of all the guests which is a special addition and will make perfect Christmas presents. I would hands down recommend Krystal for your wedding!
