Kukka DIY Wedding

s was important to my mom and my family and I wanted a real bridal bouquet. So I looked into Kukka even more because DIY with real flowers sounded like a killer deal! I looked at pricing for how many pieces we would need and knew instantly that's what I wanted to go with. I thankfully had some extended family who had done floral arrangements in the past, so they helped me when I was customizing my arrangement with Kukka. Then the week of my wedding, Kukka flowers arrived on the Wednesday before and I knew I had to take the day off to take care of them when they arrived. HIGHLY recommend doing this because it's hard to say when they'll be delivered! I spent a few hours getting them trimmed and in 5-gallon buckets of water - which thankfully we had plenty (recommend getting 10 if you have a large order). I'm thankful that I had a great setup to bring my flowers to my venue ahead of time and put them in the cooler (which isn't necessary). Then when my aunts and cousin came to help decorate the day before our wedding, the flowers were beautiful for them to work with! My aunt told me after the wedding that they were some of the heartiest flowers she's ever worked with and how impressed she was with their health. I know I just followed the instructions from Kukka to take care of my flowers + listened to my family which helped, but because Kukka cares so much about its customers, we had a good-smelling reception with gorgeous flowers everywhere. I couldn't recommend Kukka highly enough (as long as you have the time beforehand to take care of them and to arrange them). We saved a few thousand dollars by working with Kukka and I would do it all over again. Our custom arrangement was stunning and absolutely perfect, which wasn't too custom to their Ever After Collection. They listened to what I wanted to change compared to that collection and came up with a suggestion. So easy to work with, so affordable (relative to a local florist) and great instructions to create beautiful arrangements.

ting phone calls, only options to leave messages or emails, and I did both as instructed. They took 24 hours to respond, which didn’t leave any option for replacement roses. Their response was that the roses would be fine. By the day of the wedding they were wilted. Via email, I requested a refund for the roses three days ago, and haven’t received a response. Based on my experience, I wouldn’t recommend this vendor due to their lack of responsiveness if there is an issue. Positives: - Order shipped and received on time, with no shipping delays (I did experience this with another floral vendor) - Florals were well packaged with clear instructions - Received exact order and colors, no substitutions were sent - The concept is great and the collections are beautiful- these were varieties I wouldn’t have been able to source locally

ed NO white flowers. Only ivory, which were more green tinted than ivory. They are incredibly wilted. Additionally, I only received regular run of the mill roses and then 1 small bunch of garden roses and 3-4 branches of eucalyptus. I sent them a note because surely there had to be a mistake. Well, they said my flowers arrived as they should have and I may need remove 3-5 layers of petals off every rose to get rid of the wilts/discoloration. My main issue is that they only included 2 of the 3 types of flowers I ordered! They said they "accidentally" left out an entire batch of spray roses. They offered me a measily $38 CREDIT for a future purchase. I told them I want a refund as I am NOT risking missing 1/3 of my flowers for my actual wedding. They obviously do not check their orders prior to sending and if they do mess us, the refund is measly at best.

anted (down to the flower types) and saved SO much money. Everything turned out great and I received so many compliments on the florals. Which made it extra special to say we did these ourselves!

-our roses arrived almost fully open. We had them delivered Wednesday for our Saturday wedding (which was recommended) they were starting to die/fall apart by wedding day. Other flowers arrived completely closed and did not start to open until after the wedding. -they changed the greenery in our order without telling us. I know it is written in the contract that they can send us something different, but they should ask before doing and give options?? -they sent the wrong color for one of our flowers. In an email they mentioned we were getting purple cushion poms. My mom asked about this because purple was not in our color scheme at all. The person reassured her that they would not be purple and they came PURPLE. This flower was the majority of what was in the bridesmaid bouquets so lots of this unexpected color. They didn't do anything to make up for that.

took about 4/5 hours to complete-but it was a fun process to create them all! The company was also super responsive and answered all questions helped me coordinate my delivery.

to sit in water before we arranged them. We went for it anyways since we didn't have tons of time, but I wish I had known we needed to plan a bit more time. I also think there could have been a bit more guidance on how to arrange them specific to the flowers we got instead of just general directions. Regardless- it was a lot of fun arranging them (not too hard!) and they came out beautiful. Definitely worth going this route if you are okay with spending some time arranging yourself- it was cheaper and it was a lot of fun!

have been with a florist. Arranging the flowers became a sweet bonding time with my bridesmaids and friends as well. However, we did not receive some of the correct coloring of flowers which was disappointing, so I did run out to the store to grab some extra filler flowers before the big day. But, we made due, and they turned out lovely in the end.

later the next day which was the day before the wedding. I was forced to drive into LA the day before the wedding and scramble to find the flowers we needed. They have never called us back. BE CAREFUL, DO NOT USE KUKKA FLOWERS

hat I had envisioned. They also helped me add more to my order and made it very easy. I knocked off a few stars because when the flowers arrived some of them were missing. The DIY kit also didn’t provide instructions on HOW to arrange the bouquets. Luckily we had hired someone to construct the flowers for us and she did a great job despite the lack of instruction. I picked a tricky bouquet with very delicate flowers, most of them had wilted by the time pictures were over. This was my fault, but I do think the shipping was hard on the flowers given the summer season. Just keep this in mind when you order.

e order so felt that wholesale was the way to go. -The support--the Kukka team was incredibly prompt and responsive. They built a custom package based on what I liked from some of their existing packages. They were also extremely accommodating as I added on several times to the order as I realized we needed flowers for the arbor and some greenery for tables. -Shipping timeliness--I was nervous about this part but it ended up going flawlessly. I'm in Northern California and had ordered for delivery on Thursday for a Sunday event (figuring that would build in buffer time if they didn't get delivered until Friday)--they came promptly on Thursday. If anything, I would've done delivery on Friday in the future so that the flowers would've held up a bit better. Less good: -Substitutions--I read the website thoroughly so I knew that substitutions in my order were possible without being given a heads up. We were supposed to have ranunculus which got swapped for tulips. The flowers were gorgeous--but none of the tulips from Kukka ended up being usable. About half of them were ok when we received them but had fallen apart by the next day. Had to replace with grocery store flowers. Additionally, when we looked into filling with more ranunculus, we were informed by local florists that they weren't in season (explaining the substitution in the order). That's where I think Kukka could possibly improve--they should have the info on flowers in season based on your event date, which I would think would help in decreasing surprise substitutions. -The process--I knew it would be hands on, but it was a LOT of work. We made 7 bridesmaid bouquets, 1 bridal bouquet, 7 bouttonieres, and 1 floral arch. This is not an issue with the company, but just something to be aware of--it is a significant amount of work needing a good amount of space and clean-up.

My husband and I were on the fence about color schemes and after chatting with Kukka, who is not only a floral company, but goes above and beyond when curating the perfect match, we landed on a decision. We were supported every step along the way. With my party having absolutely no experience in floral design, we were naturally a bit nervous and almost hired a professional florist. When we received our package, immediately, we were put at ease. The DIY kit came with everything we needed to put our Bouquet, Corsages, Boutonnières and centerpieces together. We were also left with extra flowers to make some decorative pieces. All in all we were thoroughly impressed with the price point, service and overall experience! We have and will continue to support this business and spread the word about their excellence. 10/10 would recommend!

I found Kukka! Pro-tip if you ask they will switch out any colors to match your wedding colors, this made things super easy!

before our Saturday wedding since the company states as a disclaimer in rare cases the flowers may arrive the next day in the morning (which Thursday morning would have still been OK with our timeline as our wedding was ~3 hours from home). The flowers didn't arrive Wednesday, Thursday OR Friday morning. They ended up arriving Friday night at ~7pm, the night before my wedding. My fiancé ended up having to stay back an extra day to wait for them since our wedding was out of town, so instead of spending time with me and my out-of-town family Thursday night he didn't get to join us until Friday late morning (without the flowers). My out-of-town bridesmaid waited at our house for 5 hours Friday for them to come and finally had to leave since they still hadn't been delivered by ~5pm to make the tail end of the rehearsal dinner. When I was FINALLY notified the flowers came, a friend drove to our house, unboxed everything only to find totally unusable flowers (no surprise there as they were two full days late). They were all smashed, browning, broken steams and wilted. The only consolation was that she was able to take pictures so I could get a refund (which you have to submit pictures within 1 day of arrive so I spent the evening after our rehearsal dinner emailing the company). I contacted them earlier via email when the flowers still didn't arrive by Thursday and they had basically said that they are not responsible for delivery so it is out of their hands. This in my opinion is totally unacceptable. They are providing a time-sensitive service, and if they are not able to guarantee delivery on AT THE LATEST the day after they are scheduled to arrive they should not be in this business. I spent the morning of my wedding running to flowers stores with my sister to get flowers to make my and all of my bridesmaids' bouquets. To stay this experience caused me undue stress is an understatement. The stress of not having flowers permeated the entire pre-wedding days. While the wedding was still lovely I have no doubt I would have enjoyed everything more had this not happened. If you are looking for a cheaper DIY option I would recommend buying flowers unarranged from a local floral store. You are basically doing the exact same thing as you would be with Kukka but you will have them guaranteed on your day. We ended up paying a little less than $300 for all of the bouquets and they were so beautiful and almost exactly like what I had ordered. The way this company is set up now is simply unreliable and something as important as wedding day flowers is not a vendor I would take a chance on not working out.
