I’ll start by saying Kukka Flowers was very responsive and accommodating when I had to move my wedding date 3 times because of COVID. But that is about where the good part of this review ends.
I was very excited to receive the flowers the Tuesd...ay they were supposed to arrive. Judging by the tracking, they were in transit for about 24 hours.
When they arrived, I received them directly from our FedEx guy, opened them open, trimmed them, and placed the in water in a cool dry place as instructed. I had two types of flowers out of the 8 total varieties that were already dead, with no chance of survival. My 50x camel roses were rotted, and my 10x wax flowers dropped off the branches with the slightest touch. We tried putting them in water like all the others. The wax flowers never became hydrated enough to use. We attempted to save the roses by removing outer petals, but the number that had to be removed (which was a lot of them) compromised them structurally and made them garbage.
The second issue was the Dalias. They looked very nice when they arrived, but within 24hrs, they were no longer usable. All 5 went straight in the trash.
I’m now up to a total of 65 flowers that are totally useless.
And now for the final strike. All the flowers were arranged Thursday morning, including my bouquet and the four bridesmaids’ bouquets. Given the lack of 65 flowers, I had to purchase more flowers from the grocery to supplement. We made all the bouquets, placed them in nutrient water in a cool dry place, and then left for the wedding rehearsal. When we returned, I went to check on the flowers, and my bouquet had a Juliet rose that had fallen apart all over the table. The other roses were looking rough as well. I was DEVASTATED!
The morning of my wedding, my mom and mother-in-law went into action. My mom bought more flowers from the grocery while my mother-in-law found a florist to recreate the bouquet by the afternoon. My 3 sisters-in-law went to work taking apart and putting back together all the bridesmaids’ bouquets that had bad flowers.
I would NOT recommend DIY flowers. It was stressful getting them, stressful creating them, and stressful finding replacement when they looked like garbage the morning of the wedding. As the bride, I was already too stressed out to add this into the mix.
I also didn’t save money!!! Between paying for these flowers, buying replacements from the grocery store, and having a florist recreate a new bouquet within hours of the wedding, I spent the same about as if I had just paid a florist in the first place. Save your sanity and just get a florist.
