Kurstin did an absolutely amazing job on our big day! He captured every single picture we wanted and came up with many more creative, iconic DC wedding shots that we didn't think of ourselves. While we love Kurstin's personality and creative ideas, one of my favorite parts about his work is his editing style. All of his pictures are edited so naturally and elegantly but never lacking the WOW factor. I would happily refer ANYONE to Kurstin & his team.

We were fortunate enough to have Kurstin as our photographer for our engagement photos and actual wedding in June 2019. Kurstin was an absolute joy to work with from the very beginning. While we were going through the (very nerve-wracking) process of vetting different candidates to photograph our big day, Kurstin immediately stood out as the obvious choice. We loved his portfolio, but were especially impressed by his professionalism and proactiveness. We appreciated how he took the time to meet with us over the course of several weeks to get to know us as a couple - even before we started officially working with him! Not only did he guide us through the entire process and field our MANY questions, he was truly open to understanding our likes and dislikes. I (the bride) have never liked being in front of the camera, but Kurstin really took my concerns to heart and went out out of his way to ensure I felt at ease (and beautiful!) throughout the entire experience. Our wedding took place in VA, but my husband and I are based in NYC. Kurstin was happy to accommodate our busy schedules and travel out to the city for our engagement photo shoot. He spent the whole day trekking around Brooklyn and lower Manhattan with us, and ended up capturing some amazing pictures - many of which we picked as keepers for framing)! Our wedding day itself was nothing short of spectacular, and we were so happy to have Kurstin there to capture all the special moments. He brought a level of seasoned, calm professionalism to the table and played a critical role in keeping our chaotic wedding party organized and on schedule. We relied on his guidance and direction throughout the day, and also appreciated his flexibility and willingness to take our opinions and ideas into consideration. He went out of his way to check in with us and make sure we were comfortable over the course of each shoot. I had initially gone into the day dreading photos, but Kurstin's efforts and dedication helped transform the experience into a fun and enjoyable one for all of us! And of course, Kurstin's work speaks for itself. He is incredibly talented and possesses the uncanny ability to tailor his work to his client's taste vs. only specializing in one "style". He delivered our pictures in a timely manner and was incredibly patient with addressing our feedback. We absolutely LOVE all our wedding photos - from the staged family portraits, to the candids - and are so grateful to have so many options by which to remember our big day for years to come. We cannot recommend Kurstin enough!

My now husband and I loved working with Kurstin for our wedding, engagement pictures, and our rehearsal dinner. Hiring Kurstin was one of the easiest and best decisions we made. He takes incredible photos - both posed and candid. Kurstin took the time to get to know us before the wedding day to learn what kind of photos we wanted, planned out a package within our budget, and helped make us more comfortable in front of the camera. My husband and I got married in October 2019, and we are so thrilled with the pictures! Kurstin and his second photographer (who was extremely experienced) did an amazing job not only at providing us with incredible results, but also working efficiently and professionally with my large family for the group photos. Kurstin was always willing to chat on the phone to go over my numerous questions, and his website is very user friendly to view all the photos. He is not the cheapest option but he is definitely the wedding vendor I felt super at ease hiring based on his experience and the photos of the other weddings he has worked on. We hired Kurstin to do wedding photography, as part of the package Kurstin also did an engagement shoot for us. There were a few criteria we considered when hiring a wedding photographer: 1) Quality, did the photos look good, were they well shot, and professionally edited, 2) Shot Selection, we noticed that different photographers focused on different shots, some more on the setting and ambiance, others more on the people and the interactions, 3) Value, what was the cost relative to other providers, 4) Service/professionalism, were they responsive on email, how did they approach the initial conversations, did they ask relevant questions. From our perspective, Kustin met all of our criteria. 1) We could see from his online albums that photos were high quality, our conviction was reinforced by a pre-wedding engagement photoshoot. 2) Kurstin's shot selection was something that initially drew us to him, and we loved the final photos that came out. 3) We thought Kurstin's prices were fair relative to other options we considered. 4) We were impressed by Kurstin's professionalism and service throughout the process, but it truly shined on our wedding day. Our schedule was fairly packed and at one point seemed to be running off schedule, it was Kurstin who ultimately directed traffic and ensured that all the shots we wanted for that day would be included. Without his local knowledge of the area and years of experience, there is no way we would have been able to squeeze in all the photos we wanted. It was a pleasure to work with Kurstin and his team, and I highly recommend his services.

We were referred to this photographer through a friend and instantly knew from the portfolio on his website that we wanted him to shoot our wedding! The little details of our big day were just as important as the "big picture" and we wanted someone who would capture all of that. We got married on 8/17/19 and already have our pictures back. Hiring Kurstin was one of the best wedding decisions we made. The photographs were absolutely wonderful, and he worked so well with both of us and our families. Choosing Kurstin for our August 2018 wedding was one of the best decisions we made. After the initial correspondence and in-person meeting, we knew that we found the right photographer for our day. His portfolio is impressive as he is a highly versatile photographer. The one quality that impressed us most was that Kurstin was genuinely interested in his clients. This was the deciding factor for us. He made it a priority to take the time to know what we like to do and understand who we are as persons before the process so that he could best tell our story as he captured our personalities throughout our wedding day. Kurstin was understanding and flexible throughout the experience as things tend to change or form another direction. For both our wedding day and our engagement session Kurstin was so patient and informative giving us suggestions on locations around DC that fit the style and look I wanted in our photos (and he was SPOT ON for both!) He also was not hesitant to state what would and what would not work, which was much appreciated as he wants the best for his clients. That is not to say that if you really desire something, he will make certain it is superb. We appreciated how thorough his process was and how precise his wedding day timeline was as it covered all details, which certainly made me (the bride who just happened to be the wedding planner lol) very comfortable and relaxed that he was going to handle everything. We chose to add a second photographer as well, and he too was absolutely incredible they didn’t miss a beat! We have gotten endless compliments on how amazing our pictures were and we could not be happier with them! We give Kurstin and his team the highest regard and recommendation. Kurstin was absolutely incredible to work with leading up to and on our special day. He has an incredible eye for the "right" shot and has a way of capturing amazing moments without you even knowing he's there. My husband and I constantly get compliments on our wedding photos and our beautiful album . If you're debating whether to hire Kurstin, you should book him NOW- I promise you will NOT be disappointed in his work. He made sure to get every shot, and something unique he does is provide you with a pamphlet filled with beauty/make up/hair tips to ensure everything will photograph beautifully! He really thinks of everything ahead of time so you don't have to worry on your special day. If we could give him 10 stars, we would!

Kurstin is the best in the business! If you want authentic, beautiful, memorable moments captured, he's your guy. Kurstin was great to work with and made us, our families, and guests, feel completely at ease. He was able to capture all the emotions of our big day and we are so grateful that we can relive that day every time we look at our photos. Having Kurstin as our wedding photographer was one of the best decisions my husband and I made. Kurstin is the best! He is so down to earth and you can tell has such a passion for what he does. We loved that he was so excited about setting up and getting great shots.
