. On top of her naturally caring demeanor, her commitment to organization was clear during our very first conversation, when she was kind enough to take us on as clients just 6 months before the wedding after we parted ways with our previous planner. We were planning a huge wedding (expecting a turnout of ~300 people with a firm budget cap), so it was no small task to take on. I was incredibly stressed at the time trying to finish my PhD dissertation before the wedding, but then Courtney made planning easy. She kept us on a steady meeting schedule, was transparent about/mindful of the budget every step of the way, and her communication was outstanding whenever we had questions.
On top of all that, she and her team somehow also managed to plan both a gorgeous intimate rehearsal dinner and an epic disco-themed welcome party hosted by my in-laws (our guests are still raving about it).
I'll also add that I wasn't a particularly picky bride about a lot of things (party planning is not my strong suit), which has its pros and cons. But Courtney handled that beautifully and helped guide me whenever I was unsure without making me feel pressured into a decision (down to seconds before walking down the aisle, when I couldn’t decide whether I should wear the blusher on my veil lol).
The wedding turned out wonderfully (on top of everything being gorgeous, everyone had SO much fun at the reception), and she or someone from her team was present to guide us if needed literally every second of the day. She made such an impression that my dad dedicated time to giving her a heartfelt shoutout in his wedding speech.
So if you're looking for a planner who is as lovely a human being as she is hard-working and organized, look no further!!

both the church and reception venue. She has a wealth of experience and knowledge about ceremonies and receptions. She designed the venue floor layout to maximize use of space. She created a timeline which ensured all events occurred in a timely manner in accordance with the bride & groom's wishes. This was our first family wedding and we had not one clue what we were doing. With Ms. Bell's help - it went off without a hitch. To make it a bit more challenging, our family was out of country and unreachable for 17 days shortly before the wedding. We didn't return home until 10 days before the wedding. We left town without worry, confident Ms. Bell would handle any issue that arose in our absence. And she did. Last but certainly, not the least, Ms. Bell is a delight to work with. Her joy in her work is infectious. We have two more daughters. When they decide to get married - Ms. Bell will be the first phone call we make!

ith her and her team made wedding planning much less stressful than it would've been otherwise, and by the end of the process I not only felt completely thrilled with how my husband and mine's day turned out, but that I had gained a friend! I could wax poetic (and will later in this review) about La Belle Vie's work, but here are a couple of reasons to hire Courtney that I think specifically make her wedding planning service The One to book:
-- Courtney's vendor network. Every vendor we used the day of went above and beyond what we hoped for, and made our wedding day that much more special. She presented us with a variety of options for every step: florals, photography, paper, etc., and always offered her honest opinion on each vendor's prices and products. She also coordinated with some vendors she hadn't previously worked with for our wedding, and had clearly done her research ahead of time regarding these "new to her" players.
-- Courtney's design eye. I wanted our wedding day to pay tribute to my cultural heritage (Puerto Rico and New Orleans, specifically) and after giving Courtney some specific aesthetic ideas she and our vendors delivered a creative vision beyond any of my wildest dreams. I was blown away, genuinely.

h meeting ran efficiently, and Courtney did so well keeping track of all of my vendors/contracts/etc. (we had SO many vendors, so she truly did a great job keeping them all organized). Courtney and I worked well with each other, our personalities meshing with one another. Courtney is sweet, but can help make hard decisions because of her expertise. She knows the Birmingham area well, and can give her honest opinion about vendors in the area.
Courtney did a great job managing all of our wedding party, including family members and family friends. We had twists and turns with COVID, but were able to have our wedding day as we imagined it to be. Courtney and Ruthie handled everything so beautifully, and took all the stress out of the day for me (leading up to the day too). We had two different venues, one for the ceremony and one for the reception place, and Courtney helped plan the transition from each place go flawlessly.
I would also note how affordable Courtney is, for the day-of coordinating. I looked at so many Birmingham coordinators, and they were unreasonably, priced over $5,000 for only 1 day (plus the rehearsal time). I would HIGHLY recommend La Belle Vie!
