La Guli Pastry Shop is an Italian bakery located in Astoria, NY. La Guli Pastry Shop was founded by Paolo Notaro and his brothers, who emigrated to New York City from Palermo in 1920. After starting two locations in Manhattan, the Notaro brothers came to Astoria, where they opened this shop in 1937. Still in its original location, the bakery features its original storefront, interior woodwork, shelves, and terrazzo tile floors. It is now run by Paolo’s son Rosario and his granddaughter Maria, who carry on the family tradition of baking fresh sweets every day.
