La Louisiane did our wedding cake, and it was a wonderful experience working with them! Shannon was very responsive during the entire planning phase. She made sure she understood my vision and helped my understand what size cake I needed for the number of guests we were expecting. My husband decided he didn’t want a grooms cake, so we ordered cupcakes instead. Because of COVID, Shannon arranged a take home tasting for us, which was a box that we picked up from their office and included different cake and frosting flavors. It was a fun and easy way to choose our cake flavors. In the end, everything we chose was delicious, and our guests raved about it. The cake was also beautiful and exactly what I had envisioned. We are so pleased with La Louisiane, and we definitely look forward to ordering more delicious cakes from them again in the future!

Our wedding cake was from La Louisiane and it was DELICIOUS! I was looking for a bakery that made amazing cakes and was easy to work with and my friend Claire told me that everyone at her wedding loved their cakes from La Louisiane. I reached out to La Louisiane and they made the process of selecting and designing the different cake options so much fun and stress free! Everyone who I worked with there is so warm and friendly and our cake turned out perfectly. We heard many people say how tasty it was and we loved it too! I can't wait to eat the top tier on our anniversary.

La Louisiane Bakery did my daughter's wedding cake and we were very happy with it. Not only was it beautiful but it tasted incredible!!! My daughter chose different flavors for the different layers and they were all yummy. We had quite a bit of leftover cake and it was still fresh a week later!! The groom's cake was shaped like a book since the groom loves to write and it was the best chocolate cake I've ever tasted. Our guests raved about the cake and many of them had several pieces. I would absolutely recommend this bakery for your wedding needs.

La Louisiane provided the most delicious cake ever! My now husband was amazed with his grooms cake (chocolate and lemon doberge) as well! I’ve had them quite a few times at other weddings, but there’s something your own wedding cake that is the best! I would highly recommend using La Louisiane for any wedding or event!

I am someone who went to all of the big name bakeries in New Orleans before I found the best bakery in La Louisiane. Other bakeries let you have like 2 cake samples and very few icing samples. La Lou gave us a full spread of pretty much everything they offer. And it was the freshest cake I had tasted. I had a very specific idea of what I wanted both my wedding cake and the groom's cake to look like, and La Lou actually exceeded my expectations. Not only were they beautiful, but they tasted so fresh. Other bakeries may make your cake early in the week and refrigerate them, but La Lou's cake tasted so fresh on the night of my wedding. They're super easy to work with, flexible with what you want, and overall the most impressive bakery I had encountered during my search. 10/10 recommend.

Hands down, the best wedding cake we have ever had in our lives! Not only did the cake taste good, but it looked beautiful, too. They were able to accomplish our wishes perfectly. My husband requested a more complicated groom’s cake design and they replicated his vision exactly as expected. The taste test prior to the wedding was the highlight of our wedding planning process! Once you try their cakes, you won’t look anywhere else.

Wow! The crawfish pot groom's cake was amazing! Everyone walked by to look at the details and couldn't believe it was actually a cake. The duck logo and beer bottle were spot on! La Louisiane did a fantastic job on my wedding cake! We had a smaller event and they created a beautiful and delicious cake, despite its smaller size. The COVID tasting process was also easy and fun! La Louisiane is also very responsive and great to work with. All the guests have been talking about how delicious the cake was. I cannot recommend them enough!

They made the most amazing Game of Thrones cake and made his vision come to life. They even make the iron throne on top and a dragon on the side of the cake both made out of icing. Everyone raved about the king cake, saying it was the best king cake they have ever had in their lives. The different flavors of the wedding cake kept the guests coming back for seconds! We found La Louisiane here on the Knot after contacting quite a few bakeries in the New Orleans area. This was a destination wedding for us, so to be able to get consistent communication and responses back were very important. La Louisiane was the only wedding cake vendor that answered us in a timely manner and had all pricing, what information they needed from us right at the start of planning. We met them in person during a trip down for tastings, and we not only decided on the design of the cake, but also flavor and a dessert table in a matter of one hour. They knew exactly what we wanted and worked very well with our other vendors for the wedding reception. Our guests during and after the wedding are still asking us what flavor cake we had because it was so good! I highly recommend using La Louisiane Bakery especially if you are doing a destination wedding in New Orleans.

La Louisiane was incredible. The cake was absolutely delicious and they were very easy to work with. We got lots of compliments about the cake. More importantly, my daughter wanted a tree trunk cake stand which we dropped off to them. They learned a few day’s before the wedding that the wood was really dry, causing it to split and making it unusable. The baker went out of his way to create another piece of wood to reinforce the original tree trunk. It didn’t show and allowed my daughter to have what she really wanted. Truly beyond the call of duty—so kind.

La Louisiane was so great to work with! I wanted a simple cake, but with a double middle tier, and they easily made my vision come to life. They were quick to respond to questions and really made our cake the focal point of the wedding! So happy we went with La Louisiane!

Beyond expectations. The cake was simple and gorgeous but more importantly DELICIOUS! Our guests raved for days about each of the four flavor options we chose for each tier of our cake. Will definitely be a repeat customer for all our specialty cake needs.

We got married in NOLA on June 1, 2019 and were out of towners from Houston. It was helpful that LaLou was super responsive and clear in their communication. We went in for an in-person tasting only once, shared our feedback, and then they nailed it in the finished product. Since I am gluten intolerant, we wanted one tier to be GF. To avoid cross contamination, we had a deconstructed cake with separate tiers. I chose a rose water flavored cake, which was custom and they did a fantastic job making the (blush colored) buttercream icing rose-flavored! My husband chose a chocolate/white chocolate combination for another tier, and a strawberry/vanilla/almond “Bakewell Tart” imitation for the third tier. It was all entirely amazing and we enjoyed cake at the reception and again at brunch the next day! Thank you LaLou!

We were so happy with La Lou! All of our guests raved about the cake (sadly, we barely ate any because you know how it goes as the bride and groom - but I distinctly remember our cake cutting and taking that first bite and exclaiming "omg that's so good" to all of my guests). You know how you wish you could always do something a little differently after your wedding? Not eating more of La Lou's delicious cake was definitely top of list (but we saved the top tier, so looking forward to that). We ordered two cakes -one 3-tiered almond cake with lemon mousseline and the other was a single layer cake with coconut mousseline (highly recommend both). Neither lemon or coconut overpowered - was a really nice blend and made it more interesting than plain almond. It was important for us to have something a bit interesting that would appeal to most guests, so this combination worked really well : ) Beyond how delicious the cake actually tasted, it was simply gorgeous. We wanted them decorated as "scrape" and the other as a "swirl" and both with cascading flowers (done by our florist), and the presentation couldn't have met my vision better. Additionally, Amanda is a gem and so easy to work with, plus super attentive to detail. Everything happened as we requested. We so enjoyed how she accommodated us at the cake tasting and helped me decide on the final cakes (I was a stressed out, indecisive bride, so Amanda's approach was on point). Cake was delivered to our venue (~20 miles away) on time with no issues at all. Finally, if you are on a budget like we were, we were happy at such a reasonable price for what I described above. A+ review, would highly recommend them!

Our cake was beautiful and tasted great and the process could not have been easier. We also got praline wedding favors that were delivered with the cake. I was super happy with how everything turned out!

I did not expect to get a cake because I don't like fondant and didn't even realize there was such a thing as a "naked" cake until I saw it at other people's weddings. I also thought I would just get dessert, but as it turns out, getting a cake was more affordable than getting dessert at my venue. I saw a La Louisiane cake at my venue's instagram and after reading the reviews, expect it to be super expensive. I was surprised by how affordable our naked red velvet cake was! It was also DELICIOUS! Moister than I expected and the frosting was not too sweet. LaLou also did our desserts and I can particularly recommend the sugar cookies and key lime pie which were particular favorites. I would not hesitate to go back here if I had another event.

La Louisiane baked our wedding cake for our destination wedding in Nola. They came highly recommended by our venue and we could easily see why. Hands down the most moist and flavorful cake we tasted and that I can remember from any wedding I’ve been to. We chose traditional almond cake with almond and raspberry jam filling topped with 50/50 Swiss and American buttercream frosting. This review is making me want more!

Growing up in this city, many weddings have the standard wedding cakes. They're usually good and very pretty, but no one really seems to love it. Well kids, look no further on a cake you and your guests will LOVE. I had reservations at first, as I had never heard of them, but the reviews are stellar. The tasting plate was so immaculately done, and Amanda really took the time to understand our vision. TLDR: Best wedding cake you've never heard of - worth it!!!!!!

They screwed up our wedding cake... I'm torn in writing this review. On one hand, I strongly believe that La Lou makes the absolute best cake I've ever had. On the other hand, I was beyond disappointed in my own wedding cake. Despite multiple confirmations -- including the week before -- my cake was wrong. Of course no one would know this until we actually cut into the cake... It looked the part, but the whole reason we chose this bakery over another, more reasonably priced bakery was left out of our cake completely. When I brought this up to them after returning to town, they admitted an error on one tier but claimed I was wrong on the remaining tiers. My photos came in and proved the cake was done incorrectly. I advised the bakery of this and all I got was a "whoops". This bakery is not cheap and I'm disappointed that when they screwed up our wedding cake, there was no attempt at making it right.

La Louisiane absolutely killed it!! They were so excited about our grooms cake idea and went all out to make it perfect. We did four different types of cake flavors and they were all so delicious. Our guests couldn’t stop complimenting the cakes! They were beautiful and delicious and the crew was amazing to work with. We are so happy we chose them!!

My husband and I planned our wedding from afar, with only a list of recommendations from our venue. We both LOVE cake, but only had websites and reviews to go off of. I ended up simply picking one off the list and crossing my fingers that they would get the job done. In my mind, it's wedding cake, and wedding cake is never really special. Boy was I wrong. Wedding cake CAN be special and taste amazing. We were blown away at our tasting. They had so many options for cakes and fillings, we ended up going with three different cakes and fillings because they were all that good. They were so easy and accommodating to work with, were patient while we waited on my husband to settle on a grooms cake, and the cakes were both stunning to look at and delicious to eat. I highly, highly suggest working with La Louisiane.

I cannot say enough great things about the wedding cake and grooms cake that La Louisiane made for our wedding. The were Perfection!! I provided pictures to the bakery of what I wanted, and the cakes completely exceeded my expectations. They were so beautifully decorated, and they tasted AMAZING. These were without a doubt the best cakes I have ever tasted. All of my guests kept asking for more cake, and the venue had to set some aside for us to take home because it was getting eaten so quickly. I would highly recommend this bakery not only for their beautiful cake decorating, but also for the delicious taste!

Choosing La Louisiane for my daughter's wedding cake was definitely the right choice. It was our first stop on the tastings of 5 different bakeries. Although all the bakeries had great ratings and reviews, the others did not even come close to La Louisiana, they were disappointing. Amanda was fantastic to work with. She was so easy to communicate with and delivered the most beautiful wedding cake and groom's cake! Not only was it exquisite, but it was so delicious. Our guests were going back for seconds and raved about the cake. We chose the pistachio and the almond mousseline fillings, and they were equally as delicious. I cannot say enough good things about the cake. I highly recommend La Louisiane and it was one of the best decisions we made! I wish I could give more than 5 stars!

I loved everything from the ordering, tasting, and invoicing of this cake vendor. However, on the day of my wedding this vendor almost did not make it at all. The venue called them several times (more than 5 times) and no response. There was no update or communication on what was going on. So my cake arrived right when I was walking down the aisle--- only 3 hours later than what everyone was told. This lack of communication or caring is just irritating and even more infuriating on a stressful day. They make great cakes but the business aspect is lacking. I do not need to chase a cake vendor after paying for it.

La Louisiane Bakery was amazing. We wanted a stained glass cake topper and they exceeded our expectations. The cupcakes were delicious!!! I was going to have to rent a cupcake stand, and they gave me advice to find something we actually liked, and have it shipped to their bakery (since this was a destination wedding for us). They really went above and beyond and I am so happy they were part of our wedding day.

La Louisiane makes phenomenal cakes! We were between them and another bakery and decided to go with LLB because their almond cake was so moist (hate that word ha) and delicious. When it came time to cut the cake at the wedding, we took a bite for pictures and then I literally started to stuff my face with more cake - it was so good! We did a 4-tier cake (2nd one from the bottom was fake) - bottom layer was almond, 3rd layer was chocolate and top later was almond with funfetti :) We decided to not save the top cake because we are out of state and we were flying to Thailand but we WILL be ordering a replica to be sent to us on our 1st anniversary and I CANNOT wait!

Our cake was absolutely beautiful and so delicious! We had leftover cake and I took it to work 3 days after the wedding and it still tasted like it was just baked.. still so moist and fresh! We couldn't have been happier with La Louisiane!

We used La Louisiane to prepare both our wedding cake and king cake for the grooms cake. We did not do an official cake tasting since we were planning from out of state but we worked closely with Amanda via email and she executed our vision perfectly. We got married during Hurricane Nate and the bakery was more than willing to accommodate a last minute 5 hour schedule change. The cakes were delivered on time and taste delicious. The cakes have been the talk among all of our guests. We are grateful for all the hard work that the team put into making our chaotic weekend successful!

Our wedding cake was beautiful and delicious! I sent them a picture of how I wanted it to look and it was exactly how I pictured it! They were such an easy company to deal with from the beginning that I didn't have to worry about any sort of detail with them. I highly recommend!!

For as long as I can remember I have been obsessed with baking. Having held many part time jobs in bakeries and pastry departments in restaurants my standards were high for my wedding cake. I tasted my friend's wedding cake 2 years prior to our wedding and was positive I was going with this certain bakery for my own wedding one day. Then a year later I tasted a wedding cake from LaLouisiane at another friend's wedding and quickly changed my mind! Boy am I happy I went with LaLouisiane! Amanda was a pleasure to work with from the day I started emailing her! Their team is so talented and made my long time vision for my husband's grooms cake come to life! Our wedding cake was beautiful as well! Now, a beautiful wedding cake is always nice to look at but we all know it has to taste good! I CAN NOT WAIT to eat our topper next year and will definitely be ordering cakes from LaLouisiane anytime we have a family event in Louisiana (live in IL now). The cake was so well balance, moist and overall perfect! I brought some back to all my co-workers and they raved about it as well as all of our guests. I think it is safe to say if you need a baker in the New Orleans area I highly recommend LaLouisiane!

What an absolutely scrumptious experience! My husband and I went to La Louisiane because his sister used their services when she got married and told us we would not be disappointed. Boy was she accurate! We specifically said we were interested in red velvet. Our tasted had some red velvet made especially for us, we took one bite, and we were hooked. During and after the wedding we received endless compliments of our amazing wedding cake and grooms cake including how beautiful and tasty it was! So many cakes can look gorgeous but do not have the taste to back it up. La Louisiane is lacking in neither department. Their taste is perhaps even more amazing than the beauty of their creations! The red velvet was so perfectly moist and just the right amount of sweetness. I am so looking forward to enjoying the top tier of our cake a year from now. Thank you so much!!

BEST WEDDING CAKE EVER!!!!! Our venue package came with 2 bakeries included in our package. After our 2 tastings at these well known bakeries, I was extremely disappointed. I had almost given up. I started to think that all wedding cakes were dry and disgusting. I had one last tasting with La Louisiane. It was the best cake ever. It was NOT dry and it was NOT filled with tons of buttercream icing. Amanda and the rest of the staff were so amazing. They were quick to respond to any of my questions. She gave me different options to make things fit into my price range, and still have my cake look beautiful. La Louisiane is reasonably priced that it didn't matter that they weren't included in our venue package. Everyone is still complimenting us on our cake!

La Louisiane was so pleasant to work with from beginning to end! I really enjoyed their ability to be flexible and work with us on our design. They are attentive via email and in store. The cake was delivered on time and the fresh flowers were placed on the cake with care and attention to detail. They were prompt with delivery and required no extra help! When I arrived at our reception, the cake was placed beautifully atop the cake stand and all was well. Most of all it was so fresh, light and delicious. We received tons of compliments on our cake design and taste, and we owe it all to La Louisiane. They are really a top notch bakery to work with. We hope to work with them in the future! We would love to go get cupcakes made from our wedding cake flavors on each of our upcoming anniversaries. You cannot go wrong with La Louisiane. I promise you will not be disappointed.

La Lou did a fantastic job on our wedding rice krispie treat "cake" and my magnolia flower traditional cake! I highly recommended them to anyone that is looking for an affordable cake or rice krispie treat "cake" option. I only have to knock off 1 star, due to them not including my cake pulls into the wedding cake. It was a honest mistake that they forgot to include the pulls and the owned up to their mistake. Otherwise, everything tasted great!

I was referred to La Louisiane by the owner of the company I work for. When we went to meet with Amanda and sample the cakes my husband and I were immediately impressed! I don't really like the flavor of wedding cake all that much, but the way La Louisiane makes their icing it is so delicious it is hard not to love it. There were many different options of fillings and icings and she was able to alternate each layer between white and chocolate cake so that we had a variety for everyone since we chose not to have a groom's cake. I will definitely be using them again for other events!

We were on a tight budget, but we were still able to get a simple, yet elegant cake with a couple of fleur de lis on it. It looked and tasted amazing. It was a destination wedding for us and we couldn't have been happier with how accommodating they were.

We ordered our cake for our March 2014 wedding from La Louisiane and they were the vendor that most (pleasantly!) surprised us. Our guests ABSOLUTELY. LOVED. THAT. CAKE. It was one of the biggest hits at the reception and even seemed to out-shine the food, which is saying something. A few friends told me it was the best wedding cake they'd ever tasted and still talk about it, months later! It also got devoured instantly by our families in the boxes and boxes of leftovers that were sent home on the night of the reception. We ordered a white cake with pecan praline filling and swiss buttercream frosting -- highly recommended.

My caterer had preferred cake vendors, and after meeting with them, we were not impressed. I had heard great things about La Louisiane, so we set up a meeting. Amanda was SO nice and friendly. We decided to use them, and we are SO glad we did. The cakes were everything we asked for and more. They could not have been more beautiful or delicious. They do not nickle and dime you, they stick to your budget, and the results are absolutely fantastic.

Wonderful, quick, effective, and friendly communication at every step of the way, which was very important to me as I was an out of town bride. Beautiful cake - very well designed. And by far the best wedding cake (or any sort of cake, ever) that I have tasted! Amanda listened to my ideas and offered some really great ones of her own - and I ended up with a cake I absolutely loved! The cake and filling options were excellent. Between the wedding cake and groom's cakes we had enough for everyone to get served 2 slices - and there was not much left over! It disappeared as soon as it was sliced and put out. I have never seen wedding cake disappear like that! We had just enough to get us through our honeymoon. :) We decided to save the top tier of the cake for our 1 year anniversary - I sure hope that La Lou can mail cakes because if not we will have to make a special trip to NOLA next year as there is no way I'm going to be able to avoid that temptation in my freezer for a whole year! Seriously, this cake is divine and Amanda was an absolute joy to work with - there is no need to look any further than La Louisiane bakery!

Living in New Orleans, we are blessed with many delicious bakeries throughout the area. Some are known for king cake, some are famous for doberge, etc. If you are looking for the most amazing wedding cake of your life, look no further. My experience with La Louisiane was a dream. I didn't look anywhere else. Dealing with Amanda is always a delight!! My cake was exactly what I wanted....gorgeous and enormous. The venue needed a ladder to cut and serve the cake!! And the flavors and freshness can not be beat....do not get a cake without the fresh strawberries inside. It is all anyone could talk about!!! The groom's cake was perfectly executed as well (and NOW I am a huge fan of their carrot cake!!!) La Louisiane was a non-negotiable. There are very few bakeries that bake your wedding cake "day-of" and very few bakeries that offer mousseline and Swiss butter cream. Having La Louisiane bake the cake, made the wedding cake the centerpiece of the entire event. Thank you Pattie and Joel for a cake we will never forget. I am so used to wedding cakes tasting mediocre that I didn't even put any effort into picking my own wedding cake. My wedding planner recommended La Louisiane--she said she was told they made the best wedding cakes in New Orleans--and I figured this would be, at best, "decent" by wedding cake standards. I didn't even try the cake myself before the wedding, I had my mom do it because she's even pickier than I am when it comes to baked goods.... Needless to say, I was blown away by how delicious this wedding cake was. It was beautiful--exactly what I wanted--and it tasted incredible. It was moist and airy, and I even liked the frosting, which I typically think is the worst part of most wedding cakes. Guests at the wedding later commented to me that it was the best wedding cake they had ever tried. My mom, who is notoriously impossible to please, also loved it. To sum it up: If you live in New Orleans, don't even THINK about having anyone other than La Louisiane make your wedding cake! [Another note: My mom, an avid baker, was involved in selecting the cake, and she had them remove some of the almondy wedding cake flavor that bakers traditionally use. I recommend this, especially if you, like me, don't love wedding cake. She also had them do some lemon-filled layers and raspberry-filled layers, which was delicious.]

People are still talking about how delicious the wedding cake was for my daughter's wedding. I am not a big fan of wedding cake but this was so fresh, moist and delicious. The groom's cake was also fabulous. It was a chocolate chip cookie cake with a duck on top. Delicious and looked awesome. Everyone at La Louisiane was wonderful to work with. I have recommended them to everyone I know.
