La Rio Mansion

t we wanted for my daughter’s wedding, she coordinated, arranged and made the appointments with different vendors so my daughter and son-in-law showed up and chose what they wanted in their wedding. Lily and her crew decorated the place better than I imagined. She took care of every detail that everything went smoothly during the reception. The cake from Lily’s bakery was exceptional, not only looked beautiful but it tasted amazing and moist. My experience was absolutely amazing, we had a gorgeous wedding and we didn’t have to do anything but show up and enjoy the party! I wish I can give her more than 5 stars! I I strongly recommend La Rio Mansion for any event! You will have a memorable day that you will never forget! Thank you La Rio Mansion for making my daughter’s wedding an amazing and wonderful event! Forever grateful!

suppose to do and takes care of you the whole wedding day. I don’t know what I would’ve done with out her. She was on top of my vendors and made sure everyone was doing everything right and if we had a problem the handles it. She’s takes weddings at her venue very seriously and truly wants it to be a perfect day as if it were her own. I can’t recommend lily enough for everything she did to make my wedding amazing. Also she loves what she does and you can definitely she that! She also owns Lilly’s cake who made my cake and my grooms cake which turned out amazing. So when you book la rio you can a venue, a coordinator, and a cake bakery (obviously at an additional cost) but it’s so convenient that it’s all from the same person so you know you will be happy with all services!

Lily was very willing to work with me when I needed to change things and really showed me that she cared about my event being successful. She is so enthusiastic about what she does and working with her made me feel confident and excited about my event.

-tale wedding come true!!!! You can tell they've really put in a lot of effort to make sure every detail hasn't been overlooked - and did I say the owners were so helpful and nice?!!!! SO NICE! You can tell they take an enormous amount of pride in their property and they treat you like family. I know next time my friends need a venue for anything I will point them this way! 20/10 recommend, love this place with all of my heart.

Despite the beauty of the place it has it's ups & downs. Literally there are steps everywhere so elderly beware. We decided to stay the night there and we had no towels provided to us or our guests that decided to stay. Also, the carpets look gross and had a lot of stains and the shutters on the windows are broken in certain areas. It just wasn't very clean looking and is in need of some renovating. Our group was one of the "lucky" ones to be able to have access to the new ballroom. While it was not in our contract that it was going to be ready we were told verbally over and over that it would be available for use. Since the weather decided to be super cold that weekend we decided to take advantage of the new room. The day before the wedding we were told although the ballroom was (kind of) finished there are no lights in the building (which we were told there would be) ... So rather than having no lights my father and some friends came to the rescue and hung up some Edison lights they purchased themselves (as if this place wasn't already expensive enough) and my DJ (DJ Handyman) saved our butts by providing up lighting so we weren't in the dark. Talk about stressful for us and our family! Other than that the night was a blast and the venue was gorgeous. I waited a while to write this review because based on other reviews I noticed if you did not write a positive one you might not get your deposit back. So, now that my family has the deposit (which took almost 2 moths and several non returned phone calls) I am now able to write a completely honest review. La Rio is a beautiful place but unfortunately I believe there was a HUGE amount of over promising and under delivering. In the venues defense I do think they were having a management issue/change and perhaps they were just unaware of what was going on at the time. Had we been told the ballroom would not be available we would have chosen another venue with a guaranteed indoor option. Despite the communication issues, this is still a beautiful place to celebrate your big day but I highly recommend a wedding planner and some serious attention to what is in your contract and do not rely on verbal promises.

y is beautiful, and the property manager and owners are very nice! Will, the manager, was very helpful and available. You're free to use any vendors you want, but the venue has a great relationship with a lot of other vendors in the area that are familiar with the property. I would certainly recommend La Rio!

e and very accommodating. They have a property manager on site that is awesome! Communication between the owner and ourselves was not good. She has multiple businesses and rarely got back with us most of the communication was with the property manager. The grounds are gorgeous and well kept. The mansion itself is beautiful and the grooms quarters are great! Luckily we had gorgeous cool Texas weather with no rain and it was fabulous! Would recommend this venue if you are looking for a outdoor wedding and reception.
