La Rio Mansion

La Rio Mansion 4501 Dice Grove Rd, Belton, TX 76513 Wedding Venue bobbie G 68 points in the last week We had our wedding at La Rio in October. It is truly a very beautiful place which is why we chose this venue over other places we looked at. Despite the beauty of the place it has it's ups & downs. Literally there are steps everywhere so elderly beware. We decided to stay the night there and we had no towels provided to us or our guests that decided to stay. Also, the carpets look gross and had a lot of stains and the shutters on the windows are broken in certain areas. It just wasn't very clean looking and is in need of some renovating. Our group was one of the "lucky" ones to be able to have access to the new ballroom. While it was not in our contract that it was going to be ready we were told verbally over and over that it would be available for use. Since the weather decided to be super cold that weekend we decided to take advantage of the new room. The day before the wedding we were told although the ballroom was (kind of) finished there are no lights in the building (which we were told there would be) ... So rather than having no lights my father and some friends came to the rescue and hung up some Edison lights they purchased themselves (as if this place wasn't already expensive enough) and my DJ (DJ Handyman) saved our butts by providing up lighting so we weren't in the dark. Talk about stressful for us and our family! Other than that the night was a blast and the venue was gorgeous. I waited a while to write this review because based on other reviews I noticed if you did not write a positive one you might not get your deposit back. So, now that my family has the deposit (which took almost 2 moths and several non returned phone calls) I am now able to write a completely honest review. La Rio is a beautiful place but unfortunately I believe there was a HUGE amount of over promising and under delivering. In the venues defense I do think they were having a management issue/change and perhaps they were just unaware of what was going on at the time. Had we been told the ballroom would not be available we would have chosen another venue with a guaranteed indoor option. Despite the communication issues, this is still a beautiful place to celebrate your big day but I highly recommend a wedding planner and some serious attention to what is in your contract and do not rely on verbal promises.

La Rio was a great venue! We had our wedding reception on the back patio. We didn't have a plated meal, so we didn't need to have seats for all the guests to sit at the same time, but there was plenty of room for our 300+ guests. The property is beautiful, and the property manager and owners are very nice! Will, the manager, was very helpful and available. You're free to use any vendors you want, but the venue has a great relationship with a lot of other vendors in the area that are familiar with the property. I would certainly recommend La Rio!

This is a beautiful outdoor venue! Our wedding day was perfect! You do take a gamble having it here because there is no indoor facility in case of rain. If it does rain you have to pay extra for tents to be brought in. The owner is very nice and very accommodating. They have a property manager on site that is awesome! Communication between the owner and ourselves was not good. She has multiple businesses and rarely got back with us most of the communication was with the property manager. The grounds are gorgeous and well kept. The mansion itself is beautiful and the grooms quarters are great! Luckily we had gorgeous cool Texas weather with no rain and it was fabulous! Would recommend this venue if you are looking for a outdoor wedding and reception.
