Oh La Venta.... I have so many great things to say about our experience here over the last year - we just got married last weekend. I've lived in Torrance my whole life, work all ...
around the hill, and even though I had seen the La Venta sign a thousand times, didn't realize it was this spectacular. First, Charla was our coordinator and I wish I could write a novel about how much I love this woman. I inquired online, she was prompt in her response and we were able to swing by the venue to check it out on very short notice (I was early for an appointment at Terranea) so we swung by as it was on our way. The second we pulled into La Venta, I knew we would have to get married there... and so the planning began. Charla, from start to finish has been the most amazing coordinator, organizer, relaxer, & now, friend. We did our engagement shots here too, since we couldn't think of a better place to capture some love! At our wedding, we had about 100 people, three food stations, DJ, photographer, videographer, and photo booth. Charla made it ALL HAPPEN so easily and I literally experienced ZERO stress the week leading up to the day and the day of. Everything went smoothly (as smoothly as possible, everyone knows small things can go wrong), our photos, signs, favors, decorations were all preserved and packed up waiting for us when we came back to pick them up. Charla was accommodating & efficient and we all could tell how much she wanted our day to go just right. All of our guests have said how beautiful the venue was, they complimented the food, the bartenders (shout out Carla!), the chefs, everything. I couldn't imagine our wedding anywhere else. Literally - the BEST DAY EVER.
Notes: You get the whole grounds to yourself the whole evening. Uber private and so much more intimate.
Two bathrooms for guests in the hallway behind the fireplace
Your event must be over at 10pm - it's ok. We bought an extra hour and turned the music down a bit because you're in a residential area (be courteous) - it's still ok.....the alcohol is flowing & music is bumpin', everyone gets tired & everyone is left wanting more rather than wanting to leave early.
Tips:
Do the food stations & get some pasta because it's amazing. We did Filet Mignon, Chicken, Turkey & Prime Rib and the Pasta Bar.
Open Bar is SO worth it - do it.
Dessert Bar - so many options, they're all really good!
Late Night Bites: KOREAN TACOS (maybe I was a little tipsy at the end, but these were so tasty and not at all "bites" - they were hefty little tacos and now I want one.
I wanted to give the fullest picture of our experience for future guests.
Pros:
- The view. It's simply breathtaking. You walk out into the ceremony spot and see all of the LA coa...
stline below you. Nothing else compares.
- The food. Made By Meg is a big step up from standard wedding food. The menu is way better and it really makes a difference.
- The elements. We got married when it was literally 105 degrees in LA. Up on the hill, with the breeze, the ceremony was surprisingly not uncomfortably hot.
- The staff. They're all great and practiced. Everything was smooth on the day.
Neutrals:
- MBM makes you hire a bunch of their vendors (DJ, Transpo, Catering). The prices are market so you're not getting ripped off but it restricts flexibility a little.
- The fees are high. It's just supply and demand - I would charge that much if I were them too. There's basically no way of doing a La Venta wedding with the overall budget below $80. So just go in with eyes wide open.
- The venue says they can do 150 people. We had 120 and it already didn't feel roomy. I would hesitate to go above 130 people here.
The negatives:
- The area is under a strict noise ordinance. So the music has to be kept below a certain level, which can sometimes be too quiet. And the staff has to whisk you out of the area the minute your time is up. Nothing management can do about this, but just beware.
- We felt a little nickeled and dimed over certain items. For instance, if you've already bought the open bar package and want a sparkling wine pour to toast with, it's $5 extra per head for the liquid and $0.50 extra for the glassware. It's a little frustrating to see these things continue to pop up throughout the process.
Overall we had an amazing day. The natural beauty of the venue is stunning. So if you've just taken the tour and are looking for a venue, you've probably found the one!
La Venta Inn is a truly special place. The historic charm, ocean views, and Spanish-style architecture made it feel romantic without trying too hard. As the day went on and the sun...
started to set, the venue somehow just kept getting better. So many of our guests commented on how beautiful it was and how smoothly everything flowed from one part of the night to the next.
Made by Meg was incredible. The food was beautiful, yes, but more importantly it was actually delicious. We’re still hearing from guests about how good the meal was, which isn’t something you always hear after a wedding. The service felt professional but warm, and everything ran seamlessly without us ever having to think about what was happening behind the scenes.
Thank you La Venta!!! This venue is worth every penny. My day was absolutely perfect. The venue is a dream, but the staff are amazing as well. Thank you Savanna for being such a br...
ight and happy point of contact. You answered all of our questions and it was so clear and easy. Big thank you to Leslie too, for coordinating the best meals I've had at a wedding. :)))

The venue and MadeByMeg catering team all were super kind & accomodating. We had no issues reaching out to them for any questions and concerns and would always receive quick responses.
We could not have asked for better! It's definitely well-worth the investment for a beautiful location to make long-lasting memories
Kat from MadeByMeg was phenomenal—hands-down my favorite vendor. She made wedding planning effortless and fun, navigating the chaos of venue and catering options with ease. Kat was...
incredibly responsive and always went above and beyond. Working with La Venta’s staff, especially Cameron and Savannah, was seamless. The venue is stunning, intimate, and perfect. On the wedding day, everything ran smoothly—I was amazed. Guests were so impressed they started taking photos in the parking lot! La Venta and MadeByMeg staff were exceptional, and I can’t recommend them highly enough.
We couldn’t have chosen a better venue for our wedding than La Venta Inn! Everything about this place was absolutely perfect—from the breathtaking location to the exceptional servi...
ce and incredible food.
From the very beginning, the team at La Venta Inn was professional, attentive, and made sure every detail was taken care of. The staff went above and beyond to make our day seamless, and we truly felt taken care of. Our guests couldn’t stop raving about the food—it was delicious and beautifully presented!
The venue itself is stunning, with its gorgeous ocean views and elegant, intimate atmosphere. It created the most magical backdrop for our wedding, and we couldn’t have asked for a more picturesque setting.
We are beyond grateful for the amazing experience La Venta Inn provided. If you’re looking for a wedding venue that delivers on every level, this is it! Highly recommend!

lls of Palos Verdes, we knew this was the intimate, romantic venue we had been searching for. Its homey, charming feel brought the house/dinner party vibe we envisioned to life, creating an atmosphere that felt uniquely us.
One of the standout elements of the day was Made with Meg Catering. The food was absolutely delicious, and all of our guests couldn’t stop raving about it. Working with Savanna, Katherine, and their incredible team was such a seamless and enjoyable experience. They were kind, attentive, and truly went above and beyond to bring our vision to life.
La Venta Inn, with its picturesque gardens and breathtaking views, was everything we could have dreamed of for our wedding day. The staff was professional and made sure everything ran smoothly, allowing us to focus on celebrating with our closest friends and family. We couldn’t be happier that we found this hidden gem to mark such a special chapter in our lives.
La Venta was our dream venue! The view is unbeatable! We knew we wanted to get married in PV and toured other venues, but La Venta was by far the best. It was the day of my dreams,...
but as with any venue, there are pros and cons. I want to help other couples make a totally informed decision with the full scope of knowledge you can only have after the fact!
Pros: Beautifully kept historical property with a stunning view of the LA coastline and perfectly manicured grounds (you get ocean AND garden photos!) An incredibly kind and helpful team (shoutout Savanna, she is a pro!) They are a well oiled machine and make sure your wedding day runs smoothly, while also making you feel special and valued leading up. You don't have to rent anything external (linens, glassware, etc.) unless you want to, which is so helpful. The food is incredible. They give you a recommended vendor list so you can do your own research - the only required vendors are their DJ company (Vox, loved them) and their in house caterer, Made By Meg. They help keep you on track with planning as well!
Cons: For an evening ceremony starting at 5pm, you can't arrive until 3:30. This leaves you very tight on time for pictures. If you don't plan down to the minute, you will be left with hardly any dancing/mingling time. There is a hard stop at 10pm and they keep the sound fairly low due to past neighborhood complaints. The in house catering company makes delicious food, but we did have a couple issues with them. They are very expensive (standard in LA) but were not upfront multiple times about their end of pricing. Almost every time I looked over a new proposal draft, there were additions/upcharges I hadn't approved. I had to comb through very carefully to make sure I wasn't overcharged. The minimum catering fee is very high (we got married on a Saturday night and fell short at 117 guests.) To be clear, this is not La Venta's fault, but since you are required to work with MBM, the experience goes hand in hand.
I wouldn't change our day for the world and am very grateful to the La Venta team, hence the 5 stars! But I would've loved the full low down before signing the contract, hope this helps future couples!

he whole process smooth & fun. They hooked us up with an amazing wedding planner, handled all things related to the catering, and had a great staff working on the day. It was our dream wedding & our guests were so impressed. Thank you, La Venta!
Words cannot express how magical our Wedding Celebration was at the La Venta Inn; our day was a Fairytale come true.
Not only was the view breathtakingly beautiful, the staff were...
incredible! My husband was deployed at the time, my mother and I began wedding planning. The La Venta Inn, not only made our experience stress free they went above and beyond to coordinate with my mother under limited time constraints (as we wanted to celebrate on our Wedding on a very specific day) upon his return.
We absolutely recommend this venue!!!!! It was perfect in every way!!!!!
Best location ever. Everyone was blown away from the view in general not to mention the accommodations they provide and service. Everything was flawless and the service was great. ...
The waiters and food are amazing, hands down the best wedding food I’ve ever had. We met several times and knew exactly what was going on at all times. The tasting was amazing and the overall service is great. The views make this the best weddings ever.
La Venta was the key ingredient to making the wedding of our dreams. My husband and I were married on 4/21/17 and Mike was our coordinator. We and all of our friends and family are...
still gushing about it. The venue is beautiful, it includes everything you could need, they have preferred vendors to choose from, give great advice and are incredibly accommodating. La Venta made wedding planning such a blast and we are so sad it is all over! We wish we could get married every year there and work with the team and eat the delicious food!
I had my wedding here last month. The first time I saw this venue I knew it was the one. The ocean views took our breath away, and we knew every other venue we looked at couldn't c...
ompete. We had a small intimate wedding (about 70 guests) and La Venta Inn was the perfect place for that. We loved the fact that it is private and you have the exclusive use of the entire facility!
Everything went as planned and I could not thank the La Venta Inn team enough. They are amazing and professional! You will not regret having your wedding here. Mike Halish helped us with budgeting and even gave a deal since we kind of planned it last minute. He was super nice and accommodating. Charla Mandzak was our wedding coordinator and she was very organized. Charla was so calm the day of our wedding and executed everything smoothly. No wedding stress here! Thank you La Venta Inn!!
I LOVED this venue! We were looking for a nice beach location and this was the place. We had our ceremony outside, cocktails upstairs and dinner downstairs. It was great having eve...
rything in one location but in separate areas. Angie really made the flow of the ceremony and reception run so smoothly. Many of our guests complimented the great flow, service and food. I highly recommend this venue - and contact Angie!
I remember early last year, my husband and I were scouring South California to find a wedding venue we would fall in love with. After several days and places, we found The One.

Venta Inn took our breath away. It is more than just a beautiful venue. The history and structure of the place, the surroundings, the view and the staff that took care of us were all so inviting. We felt the intimacy, joy and warmth that all the couples who got married there must have felt. It is such a gorgeous place! That same day we set foot in it was the day we decided to have our wedding there.
Throughout the course of our wedding preparation, wedding day itself and after the wedding, La Venta did not disappoint. Our wedding coordinator Leslie was a savior! She is very very efficient at what she does! She made sure everything was prepared.. From the guests list, food and drinks, other vendors, ceremony line-up, to the cake design, centerpieces, etc.. She was on top of it! She made sure my husband and I had our private moment right after the ceremony. She had food and champagne ready for us and made sure we wouldn't get hungry and that we would be able to taste all our yummy food! She helped bustle my complicated dress. She made sure that the event flow was nice and smooth, and it was! All our guests said there was never a dull moment at our wedding. The day after the wedding, she had all the items left behind packed up so that they were ready for us to pick them up. I LOVE HER!
La Venta Inn does not need a lot of decoration anymore. As it is, there is already so much character and beauty that our photos turned out so picturesque. And the view, oh the view! Even the highest quality pictures and videos can't give it justice.
We are in love with this place and would get our vow renewal done here again in a heartbeat! I highly recommend it to those couples looking for that special special wedding venue they will never forget.
La Venta Inn didn't disappoint. The location alone won us over, but the service was top notch. Pearl our coordinator was the sweetest. She was very approachable and accommodating. ...
My guests raved about the gorgeous views, delicious food and the beautiful venue. La Venta Inn is worth every penny.

d, and always made us feel like we were her only clients during each of the many meetings we had with her. Our daughter and son-in-law live in Germany, but Pearl was extremely accommodating to the 9-hour time difference and FaceTiming during our meetings. The day of the wedding was even more magical than any of us could have expected -- the delicious food and beverages, impeccable service, and spectacular location exceeded all our dreams. Our new German family members were so impressed -- we just wish we could do it all again!!
I could not recommend La Venta Inn more...my wedding day was perfect and stress free thanks to the awesome staff at La Venta. Leading up to the event I had tons of questions, which...
were always answered ASAP and I felt extremely assured that everything would be taken care of...La Venta did everything I expected and more! In addition, whenever we went to visit the location to drop off a check, go to a tasting event, etc. the staff always remembered us and took time to ask how we were doing.
Not only is the staff amazing, but the grounds are unbelievably beautiful. We loved that the venue was completely private and our guests told us for weeks after the event that it was the best wedding they had ever been to.
The food and bar package are top notch. Most of the time you pay a hefty price for food at a wedding that is just not that great, but the NYFC does an amazing job with quality and presentation. When they say there are no hidden costs, there really aren't. Worth every penny.
The New York Food Co knows how to put on a wedding. And La Venta is an amazing venue for a party of 150 or less. Works best for 100 and under in my opinion, but the feel of the p...
lace is incredible. Great views, indoor/outdoor experience, and some of the best food around. Definteily check this place out!
Astonishing view, great service!
From the moment I stepped foot at this venue, I knew it had to be the one. We are not beachy people, but there was just such charm to it and that it was completely different from a...
typical wedding.
Lauren was our coordinator there and she was so amazing. She went above and beyond what I can ever imagine a venue coordinator to do.
She responded to all my emails in a timely manner and would assure me that I wasn't crazy with all my questions and requests :)
One of the best parts of this venue is that we were able to provide our own alcohol and that we were able to use Food Trucks as our catering which were really important to us!
I had so many DIY things that I was worried about the time I would spend setting everything up. Since we were an off-season wedding, we were able to come in Thursday to set most everything up and then Lauren and her crew finished off everything Saturday before the wedding.
I was a little concerned about space because I had about 225 people come, but the seating for the ceremony was perfect. The inside was a tight squeeze, but we all fit and the venue was just great! Being able to be upstairs and downstairs for different parts was really nice! It made people mingle more which was great.
Lauren and her crew packed up everything for us to pick up the next day which was so incredible. We are definitely coming back for our future vow renewal!
Everything at La Venta, from the day-of coordinator to the food to the breath-taking ocean views, make this venue unmatched in my opinion. My husband and I have visited MANY venues...
and none even came close to comparing to La Venta. We loved the beauty of the grounds and the intimacy provided by the location. Our day-of coordinator, Kelly, ensured that everything ran smoothly and I didn't have to think about a single thing the day-of. It was a little over our initial budget, but in the end it was worth every penny over the budget. Our family and friends from out of town cannot stop talking about how amazing this venue was! Absolutely recommended!
La Venta Inn was the most expensive option of the venues we looked at, but the stellar location, priceless view, and professional staff and service made for a stress free and unfor...
gettable wedding celebration. I only wish the standard event end-time is 11PM, rather than 10, given that it is very expensive, I would have loved one more hour to celebrate. This would have added to the overall value of the cost. However I still rate them 5 stars for value. Food was excellent, vendors they recommend make planning much easier and stress-free, my coordinator Leslie was wonderful and kept everything running smoothly! It is definitely a wedding venue that people will remember!
Where do I start. The venue itself is absolutely stunning. It has a classic, timeless feel. With gorgeous views of the entire L.A. area as well as ocean views that reach to Malibu!...
Your guests will not only be impressed with the view but also with outstanding service the venue has to offer. From start to finish the staff was friendly, attentive and extremely professional. Tim our wedding coordinator was an absolute life saver. His help through the planning process made the days events go off without a hitch, and was truely noticed by all of my guests! His attention to detail was refreshing,as I am extremely detail-oriented. I have had a few friends get married in the last few months at other venues, and have heard (as well as seen)a few horror stories about food, service etc. It was well worth the money to have a perfect day, and that is what you will get here. La Venta truly sets the bar when it comes to stellar food and service! My guest are still talking about it!!

t and very helpful. If you are fortunate enough to get Kelly as your coordinator, know that you are in good hands. She was great.
You have to use their caterer, New York Food Company, but every item served was delicious. Everyone of our guests had a great time. I wish they allowed for more time at the venue. They should allow the bridal party to use the facility all day if there is no event in the morning. Other than that, the place was wonderful.
What is there to say - it was beautiful. The venue is breath-taking, the food was fantastic and the service was superb. Tim Kennedy was by far the cherry on top of this amazing p...

I had checked out several locations already and none of them were blowing me away. La Venta was a little high on the price range for me, but as soon as I saw it, I knew it was exac...
tly what I wanted. Gorgeous view of the ocean and city, quaint, romantic gazebo, and just this wonderfully romantic tuscan feel to the entire location. Tim Kennedy was our wedding coordinator (a coordinator comes with the package), and he was ON TOP of everything. I can't recommend him enough. He made sure everything was in place, and was super responsive and accommodating. All the guests at the wedding said the venue was just magical. The food and cake also were really good - i had several comments about the cake being delicious. You must go with the food and cake vendor here (unless you want to pay a ton extra), which at first was a bit disappointing to me because I wanted some choice, but actually it made things super easy and the quality was great. They even pack up a little dinner+cake for you after the wedding since I barely ate!
All and all, I highly recommend La Venta. If you can get it right during off season (we had ours in early November), it is a bit cheaper and still gorgeous. Thank you Tim and La venta!
It took a lot for us to finally sign on for La Venta because the price seemed steep but they absolutely delivered!! We were blown away by the view, service and professionalism. Tim...

side for the remainder of the evening. I didn't hear or notice ANY outside noise, which was great. The venue feels so intimate and special because it's just you and your guests, and it feels like you are having a big party in a home. Our coordinator, Lauren, was amazing from start to finish and went above and beyond anything and everything we requested. She made suggestions that were better than what we had thought of but without being pushy. She set up everything for us, including the votives, which saved my florist time. They also packed everything up for us and labeled the boxes with our belongings. The food was amazing! To serve 193 people the staff was fast, efficient, and the food was piping hot and so fresh! The staff does a great job of meeting your needs and being attentive while also being discreet. I even saw a server come down with a tray of drink refills for a table (since the bars were upstairs). Now that's service! Did I mention yet how good the food was? They sent us home with extra food! Two entrees with their side dishes and a plate of our appetizers. My husband and I enjoyed these the next day and the day after, since we were too tired to cook. The two bartenders Matt and Christine were great and accommodated our wide selection of beer (we brought in our own alcohol- another plus to Verandas!) Verandas also has free self-parking, the lot is huge, and guests can leave their car overnight if they have a little too much to drink. I honestly cannot think of one bad thing to say about Verandas, the food, their staff, and the service. I didn't worry about one thing during the rehearsal or the wedding and had a stress-free amazing event. You will not be disappointed with Verandas and all they have to offer.

d. The New York Food Company really values the food aspect of the wedding. Also they really impressed us by not trying to upsell us on every little thing. The included linens and settings were great. When we asked for a strawberry lemonade and sweet tea station set out, they didn't ask for any more fees. And the included Wedding Co-ordinator is amazing! This would cost thousands anywhere else. We had Tim, and he was awesome. Totally professional, prepared, on the ball. We had a touch of June gloom at our wedding, which was unfortunate, but it cleared up by sunset (and Tim hustled out there to the minute!) and the cityscape at night was beautiful. And Larry, the head chef, was perfect. We had a small plate menu, and Larry made some amazing dishes for us. Don't be afraid to challenge Larry, he did some amazing outside the box work for us. Downside: it's a smaller venue. We had 95, and it was perfect. Location. It's in Palos Verdes, and we're in Santa Monica, so getting down there on weekdays for appointments became a chore.

We can't say enough wonderful things about La Venta. First the venue itself is stunning, but what really made it an amazing experience was the service. Tim, Charla, and Chef Larry ...
ensured that every aspect of our wedding was not only exquisite, but custom tailored to our taste. They also worked really hard to give us exactly what we wanted within our budget. This was so unexpected and nice to work with a vendor who was all about giving us the best value. We had some slightly unusual requests and they made everything happen seamlessly. Additionally, the food was amazing. We are foodies, as were many of our guests and they could not stop talking about the food.
We wanted a picturesque local destination wedding and La Venta served as the perfect location for it and more. If you are wanting a large wedding more than 150 it might be too small (we had less than 100). We had our first dance outside in a gazebo overlooking the ocean. Our guests not only enjoyed the breathtaking ocean, but also loved the views of the city. Not to mention the sunset photos we all got! We can't say enough about La Venta - it was truly a dream come true.

he entire experience was a delight. Tim was absolutely amazing through the whole process. He had such a gracious, low key manner but always got the job done. When we were getting down to the wire, we were exchanging emails almost daily, working out each detail. There was another wedding at the site that afternoon before our event, so there was very little time for La Venta to break down everything from that wedding and set up our many hanging candles, flowers, linens, etc. Everything was stunning when we arrived. NYFC's cuisine was delish. The wedding cake they prepared was exquisite and done exactly as we had requested. We are so grateful for all the beautiful memories made possible by La Venta.
We had such a great experience working with Tim and the staff at La Venta. They went out of thier way to make the event amazing.
