Bess is the only vendor that wouldn’t refund my money. I understand that the deposit ($140) wouldn’t be refunded due to the contract. She stole my remainder balance of $140 for a cake that was never made to help keep her business afloat. Her contract was very vague that she got to decide if there a refund. This is was unforeseen acts of God. When In reality we needed that money to go towards our wedding here. Definitely a disgusting business deal and she should have allowed certain customers to get money back who would never really be in Fort Myers again. She is the only vendor that did not give me a refund, which is crazy because it was 3+ months before the wedding date, what work was done? Do not deal with Bess. She is rude and will take your money and run.

d easy. We booked a cake tasting several months in advance as Lady Cakes is very popular and we wanted to make sure we were on the schedule. After deciding on a cake they handle all the logistics of getting the cake to the venue. We came in with very few ideas for our cake. We were looking for something simply designed, in buttercream but with some color. We didn’t like the look of a naked cake and certainly didn’t want too formal looking of a cake. Something classic/simple with a bit of artistic flair. We were showed a design that had painterly strokes in monochromatic tones of blue and it was a perfect match with our wedding color palette which included dusty/ twilight blue. They certainly live up to their specialization in custom cakes, we had no idea what we wanted and Bess worked out the design right there with us. Let me just say, we came into this wanting at least some portion of our cake to be chocolate. We tasted several different variations of cake and frosting combinations. Instantly we were converted to the flavor combos and completely abandoned chocolate. We selected a raspberry cake with vanilla bean filling. The final result was beautiful. The painterly strokes on the outside matched the blue tones of the bridesmaids dresses. The soft pink color of the raspberry cake matched the soft pink roses in the bouquets. And the taste! It tasted fantastic; super soft and the frosting was deliciously sweet. The cake was so popular our employer ordered a standard cake in the same flavor to serve at a staff meeting for birthdays. We were unable to save our actual wedding cake but we’re local and plan to order a fresh cake for our anniversary.

I went into the vendor meeting thinking I had unrealistic cake dreams and left feeling like we were going to have one of those cakes popping up all over pinterest. And that's absolutely what we got! We had a few guests mention that they had multiple pieces of cake that night too because it was so good. I would definitely recommend them!!

However what truly won me over was our grooms cake. I surprised my husband with a grooms cake the day of the wedding and LadyCakes brought my vision to life 100%. The cake was modeled after my husbands boat with our shar pei puppy at the helm with a fish in his mouth. One of my favorite memories of the day that I will always cherish is showing my husband the cake, all he could utter was “Kevin” (our pups name) and immediately teared up. HIRE THEM. You won’t be disappointed!!!

The Lady Cakes team creates exactly the simple-but-elegant cake I wanted: a lovely dove grey fondant, meticulously applied ivory brushed lace decoration, and thoughtful placement of gum paste peonies and leaves I supplied. It was beautiful. It was also so nice to have Bess personally take the time to ensure that I was happy with my purchase. My mother and all the guests were impressed both with the beautiful design (which they all thought looked like a wedding cake,) and the flavor of the cake, (vanilla with salted caramel pretzel). I highly recommend them!

I'll be the first one to say it she designed it EXACTLY how we wanted it and the cake flavor was a HUGE hit at the wedding! he cake was gorgeous. Simple, elegant, and fully in sync with our motif. I had sent Bess a picture of the color of our flowers, and she matched the flower icing perfectly. Bess also helped me determine which of our contending cake toppers would match best, and again she was spot on. And how did it taste? The cake was moist, and icing light and delicious.
