Lake Erie Events

t thing was the level of certainty and assuredness that Josh gave us during our initial phone calls, which turned out too good to be true. From the day I submitted payment, he began not responding to any of my texts and the Lake Erie Events phone system only put me through to the message machine, followed by no returned phone calls. Additionally, he promised to call us two days before the wedding to go over final details and he never did that either. The next thing to let us down was his equipment, which failed within the first 5 minutes of our wedding ceremony due to an apparent heat induced fail safe because of the sun. After the processional and music, we were left without microphones for the entire remainder of the ceremony. He had music back on for our exit, but we lost a lot which was very important to us, and we never even received as much as an apology. I realize things happen that are unexpected, and I understand that equipment can fail, but considering he is a professional, my wife and I expected a great deal more empathy from Josh, or at least an acknowledgement that things went wrong. We were upset. The next thing to happen was just before we walked into the reception, Josh was reviewing the final details with us and kept talking over my wife. He would cut her off mid-sentence, and this happened multiple times until I had to speak up and say what she was trying to say because he wouldn’t let her. Right before our big entrance to the reception, we found out that a lot of Josh’s other notes about the reception events were incorrect. Details we made a point to discuss in our most recent video call 4 weeks prior to the wedding. If we hadn’t straightened things out in those final moments, things would have gone totally out of order. Josh was totally unprepared in that regard. Furthermore, our bridesmaids had special plans prepared for their toasts and needed particular music, but had great difficulties communicating with Josh for weeks leading up to the wedding. After they were finally able to get ahold of him, the day of the wedding we learned that Josh had never downloaded the music requested by the bridesmaids, and we had to push the events of the reception back waiting for him to download the music for the toasts. We set up a phone call with Josh a couple weeks after the wedding as part of a survey he asked us to complete. He was understanding and reasonable with us on the phone, and said he wanted to make it right with us by giving us a partial refund for the ceremony audio and possibly some money back to make up for his lack of professionalism and the difficulties we had with communications. I did not want to write this review and put all this negativity on his business, because everyone deserves a chance to make things right, and he appreciated that and we had a good conversation where I provided him with constructive criticism and he seemed to be glad to have it. We spoke on a Friday, and he promised to get back in touch with me the following Tuesday to let me know what he was planning to do for the refund and making things right with me. But instead of a text or a phone call, I was ghosted and haven’t heard from him since. Just the icing on the cake, for one broken promise after the next with Lake Erie Events and its owner, Josh.

ightmare. I would leave numerous emails and voicemails to get a call back weeks later... Our DJ did not get in touch with us until one week before the wedding to iron out all of the details... I went over the details two different times with our DJ, Sean. I gave him the order in which we wanted the bridal party announced. He did it out of order. We wanted our speeches to go first, then our first dance. He did not listen and did our first dance at the beginning of our reception before all of the speeches. During the reception, the microphone cut out for all of the speeches, making it difficult to hear at some points. He did not play any slow songs other than the ones we requested. When we spoke with the owner, he said that Lake Erie Events ends the reception on a unique note with a beautiful song, that did not happen. Lastly, Sean did not play half of our songs that we listed when they asked us specifically to write these down for him. I would highly recommend not booking Lake Erie Events.

ith our decision! Josh kept the dance floor full ALL NIGHT long! We received so many compliments about them and how Josh was the best DJ ever!! From the song choices, to the uplighting, to the monogram, everything was AMAZING. Josh was very professional but yet fun at the same time. Would highly highly highly recommend Lake Erie Events!!

mptly and professionally. Josh had a very easy guide for us to follow to complete the planning process. Josh traveled to Central PA to DJ our wedding! He was set up and playing music before guests even arrived! We had up lighting throughout the reception and great lighting throughout the evening! We also had the photo booth with print out pictures that was a huge hit with out guests! He also had a very detailed outline, that we had access to, of how the events were going to run and in what order. He was able to keep the formalities moving at the beginning of the reception without a hitch. Josh also did an awesome job at watching the dance floor and playing to the crowd. He had us dancing all night!

he reception. We had multiple meetings before the wedding day to discuss options and make sure he had all the bridal party details he needed. When we made it to the reception, he took over running the show so my husband and I could enjoy the moment and not worry about details. He also suggested a game for the reception called the Shoe Game or Shoeliwed Game which really broke the ice at the beginning of the reception and had all of the guests laughing.
