Originally, my now husband and I had not planned on having a wedding. All of the planning involved seemed overwhelming, and I had no idea where to start. Eventually, we changed our...
minds- but still had the daunting task of choosing a wedding planner. After deliberation, we chose Thao. I knew she would execute a beautiful wedding day, while sticking to my “off beat” taste. She was receptive from the beginning and was able to create a beautiful Tim Burton-esque environment in a venue quite opposite! Everyone was blown away by her work and I highly recommend to any newly engaged couple:)
I have LOVED working with Lake James & Co!

communication between planner and other vendors on the day of as some details were poorly coordinated or executed.
My husband and I got married this year...along with 8 of our closest "couple" friends. So I had quite a few girlfriends who were planning their weddings when I was planning my wed...
ding. And because I had a few who were DIY'ers, I was thinking I would be able to do the same: plan my own wedding and make all the crafts for the wedding. Easy, peasy.
Of course 5 mins into planning, I realized WHAT THE HECK WAS I THINKING?! I'm not made for this! I don't even have a pinterest board! I don't even know what color scheme I want! I was never the type of girl who knew exactly what she wanted for her wedding day. To make it even more interesting, we were having a destination wedding in NOLA.
Long story short, we found Lake James & Co, and worked directly with Thao. I eventually had to create a Pinterest board and pinned things I liked on there so she would have some sort of clue about my preferences. Communicated with Thao mostly via emails, occasionally did have direct calls so she could clue us in on the progress of things. As a bride/groom who were really "ok with anything", Thao was sufficiently assertive (but not overbearing) and decisive for all of us when it mattered most.
Even though our wedding was in NOLA, we used Thao's network of vendors (outside of NOLA) for the flowers, videography, and photography. They were all remarkable to work with and costs were comparable (even though they were out-of-towners).
Needless to say, we had a wonderful, stress-free and beautiful wedding!! And we owe it all to Thao! We found out after the wedding that she had to take care of a few "hiccups" to make sure our wedding day was the most amazing day for us. We greatly appreciated the fact that she put out all the fires that she could on her own without concerning us and having us stress on our big day. Highly recommend!!
Thao is amazing. Her attention to detail, organization, and high level of creativity really made everything smooth. Despite the schedule being jam-packed, I never saw the bride or ...
groom stressed or freaked out because everything was well planned from the beginning and executed properly.
