About this vendor
Located in beautiful northwest Michigan, LakeStar Farms’ cathedral-style barn venue is nestled on 20 majestic acres with views of Lake Michigan on the horizon. As Michigan’s largest Centennial Farm Barn Venue, our seating capacity is 275 guests with indoor ADA accessible restrooms, all on one floor.
Pick from four onsite locations for your outdoor ceremony. LakeStar’s scenic location provides breathtaking hillside views overlooking the reception venue and several acres of manicured lawn. From the silo draped in ivy to flourishing 100-year old apple and lilac trees, the property is picturesque location for your northern Michigan ceremony.
The histroic barn is defined by floor-to-ceiling timber beams towering twenty-six feet, sliding cedar and glass barn doors and Edison string lights which create the perfect ambiance for your reception. A Bluestone patio cocktail area and Gentleman’s Cigar Lounge compliment the barn’s exterior, adding to the overall experience for your guests.
This venue is conveniently located for out-of-town guests, with the nearby Manistee Blacker Airport offering daily flights to Chicago.
Adjacent to the venue, the historic dairy barn was recently converted to a beautifully appointed modern home with accommodations for eight overnight guests. Featuring a luxurious chef’s kitchen with Thermador appliances, farm chic decor and premium bed linens, the “Dairy Cottage” is the perfect place to host an intimate pre-wedding gathering, morning-after brunch, or to simply relax.
The team at LakeStar Farms is ready to help you make your dream day a reality. This includes helping you connect with recommended vendors, like caterers, bands, officiants, and florists. Other amenities offered by the farm's own team include an arbor, banquet tables, linens, service staff and a convenient shuttle for guests. We would 100% recommend LakeStar Farms! The Dairy Cottage is amazing and a perfect place to get ready in the morning and hang out after the rehearsal dinner. Elise worked so hard t...
o ensure everything ran smoothly day of. Set up and clean up went so well. I couldnt have asked for a better experience.
I can't even put into words how much I loved LakeStar Farms - it is truly the whole package. You will not find a better all-inclusive experience in the area. Not only is the barn s...
tunning, but so is the guest house and the grounds surrounding it, you can tell without a doubt everything is impeccably cared for and maintained. Besides the beauty of the venue itself the owner/coordinator, Adam, was what made the experience top notch. He will make sure you get everything you've envisioned & he made that apparent to us time and time again throughout our year+ of planning -- From going over seating plans to setting up & moving chairs the day of the ceremony - to picking up kegs & upkeeping the area throughout the night. I truly can't say enough good things. You will not regret choosing LakeStar Farms, it will be one of the best choices you make for your ultimate wedding experience.
LakeStar Farms was without a doubt the best choice we made wedding planning. Adam Dontz is incredible to work with and keeps a fine establishment. All night long he worked behind t...
he scenes to make sure that it stayed clean and put together. He was accommodating with questions we had and was willing to help us where we needed it. Every guest we had told us how beautiful the venue was and how it catered to everyone. We were able to fit 180 people inside with plenty of room to spare. The back porch was perfect for people to cool down and the cigar lounge worked well for anyone who needed to escape the dance floor and relax some more. We were worries about the vaulted ceilings getting loud, but we were always able to have a nice conversation without having to yell even when the music was playing. The living area that is attached worked great to house all the bridesmaids and prepare food for the rehearsal dinner. Everything worked great and went without a hitch. Would recommend to anyone that is looking in the area.

ge and the house attached is really beautiful and modern.
What stuck out the most is the great customer service we received from the owner, Adam Dontz. He was incredibly fast and detailed in his replies as well as being happy to work with you to make your wedding the best it can be. He really cared about making the process of planning easier for us.
Adam seems to have relationships with pretty much any type of vendor you may need and is fast to offer help even before you know you need it. For example we wondered if we might need to hire a bartender and he had pricing and availability ready for us for two great options without our asking within a few hours.
If you want a gorgeous venue and someone who will put your mind at ease when it comes to the stress of planning a wedding and bringing multiple vendors together this is a great venue.
