We had our wedding here a few days ago and it was the best experience ever! Jordan worked with us to get everything set up and put together perfectly! The venue was absolutely beau...
tiful and our guest raved about how perfect the venue was! I’m so grateful to Jordan and everyone on the team for making our day perfect! They worked with us to with our wedding date since we originally planned to do it a month early but life happened we postponed it a month. The vendors we worked with also knew the venue really well so that made it a lot easier too. The venue had amazing communication and planned really well with us. They were also incredibly helpful with putting everything up and tear down.
We also did a micro wedding to stay within our budget but they worked with us really well and were accommodating with guest count.
We got married at Lakewold Gardens on June 6th, and choosing this venue was hands down the best decision we made throughout our entire wedding planning process.
The grounds are...
absolutely breathtaking and created the most beautiful backdrop for our wedding day. Every corner of the venue felt magical, and it was everything we could have dreamed of and more.
What truly made the experience exceptional, though, were Kathryn and Jordan. They were absolute angels throughout the entire process. From planning to the wedding day itself, they were incredibly kind, organized, supportive, and attentive. They made sure we had everything we needed, kept everything running smoothly, and ensured every detail was picture-perfect.
On the wedding day, we felt completely taken care of, allowing us to relax and fully enjoy every moment. Their dedication, professionalism, and genuine care made all the difference.
We cannot recommend Lakewold Gardens highly enough. If you’re considering getting married here, do it—you won’t regret it. It was the perfect venue, and we will cherish the memories we made there forever.
My husband and I got married here on August 30th and we had an amazing experience! We were a little nervous at first (from some bad reviews we read online), but we think Lakewold ...
Gardens heard all the feedback and made amazing changes! We had a great experience and loved everything about having our wedding here. We had Kathryn Weber there on our big day and she was incredible. She was there for every little detail and made the day feel so seamless with all her helpful touches. Even my mom called the day after to rave on and on about how much she appreciated all of her help. She was kind, caring, and the calm energy everyone needs on their big day! Needless to say, Lakewold Gardens is beautiful and the best venue we could’ve asked for! I’d recommend it a million times over!
We love you Kathryn! - The Sanchez’s
Lakewold Gardens was such a gem to find for our wedding! Soon after we signed the contract last year, they had a new director and a whole new wedding team that was a dream to work ...
with—night and day compared to the previous lady who was there. Jordan, Lori, Kathryn, and Neil were so responsive and accommodating and oh so sweet to us. The garden itself—nothing for us to say because it was a beaut!!! They maintain the place so nicely with beautiful verandah for the reception and a striking tea house for the ceremony. We had a party of 40 and that was perfect for the size of the place. They have also added lots of stuff in their inventory to help couples from renting from outside and save money too, like garden chairs and cocktail tables. Thank you Lakewold for such a wonderful wedding day—it was exactly how we imagined!
Our wedding at Lakewold Gardens was an absolute dream, and we couldn’t be more grateful to the incredible team that helped make it happen. From the very beginning, Jordan was warm,...
attentive, and deeply supportive. Every detail — from the planning process to the day-of coordination — was handled with such professionalism and genuine care.
The gardens themselves are stunning — the perfect mix of natural beauty and elegant charm. Our ceremony near the Teahouse and Brick Walk felt intimate and magical, and our guests were truly enchanted by the setting.
The communication with the venue team was smooth and thoughtful throughout, and we always felt taken care of. Thank you to Jordan and everyone at Lakewold Gardens for helping us create such a beautiful, peaceful, and joy-filled celebration. We will treasure this experience forever.
Highly recommend this venue to any couple looking for a meaningful and serene place to say “I do.”
We booked this venue for our elopement because we wanted someplace that would allow for a lot of different backgrounds for pretty pictures, a covered area for the ceremony in case ...
it rained and easy access to a bathroom and this place had everything! We originally paid $800 to rent the outdoor covered verandah location but on the wedding day it was so dark and grey and rainy that our videographer said that if we got married under the verandah, the video would turn out really dark. Thankfully, no one else had rented the indoor part of the venue on that day so our wedding coordinator (Kathryn) said we could move inside in front of this large window where there was much more lighting. She even helped us move furniture out of the way so we could be directly in front of the window. Kathryn was so kind and helpful the entire time we were there and made it clear she wanted to make sure we had the best wedding day possible and she would help however she could to make that happen. A last minute location change is never what a bride wants to deal with, especially when I had been so looking forward to having purple wisteria as my ceremony backdrop, but I also recognize how lucky we were to be able to have the option to change to a new location on such a whim and I do think it will ensure our video is better quality and easier to see for when we show all of our family and friends later. Even though it rained throughout the entire time we were at the venue, I had bought clear umbrellas and we were able to walk around the venue and get lots of great pictures despite the crappy weather. I am very glad we chose Lakewold Gardens as our wedding venue!
Horrible wedding venue. This is the first and only negative review I have ever written. Prospective brides and grooms, please read below as I wish I had been warned:
The "Rentals...
and Events Coordinator" is quite possibly the most difficult, irrational, and disrespectful person I have ever dealt with. This woman will speak to you in such a condescending, dismissive tone is actually difficult to describe without using expletives. I wish I had been warned before signing any agreement here. I can, and will happily delete this review if I hear that she is no longer in this position.
From a logistics standpoint, the number one issue is her timeline. She will frequently deviate from the contract via email. She creates the strictest artificial limitations/rules. She intends on staggering the vendors arrival, and threatens a $100 fine for every vendor or guest that arrives early. This is a privately owned, public garden. Despite the $4,500 rental fee, she is committed to keeping it open to the public until about 15 minutes before the ceremony begins, to collect every $10 admission fee. After returning our security deposit, she accused my volunteers/vendors of "Intimidating" her garden guests while they set up.
Ironically, as someone who works at a garden, her number one gripe is with florists. She does not and will not allow any florist onsite before 2:00pm, and will not allow ceremony set up until after 3:30. Assuming guests arrive at 4:30, that's ONE HOUR of set up time.
At one point this women addressed my caterer/chef as a "Fancy Chef or Whatever" using finger air quotes, in a condescending and sarcastic tone to his face.
In a separate conversation, she told a racist story about a "Korean" family who recently had a wedding there. She alleged that one of the grandparents had brought a plate of sushi without the caterers knowledge, then preemptively expressed concern that my wife's Asian family cannot do the same. I was at a loss for words.
About a month before the wedding she demanded that we share our the receipt from our rental company. She then reviewed that we rented too many chairs. She would only allow that we rent 90 chairs for our 90 person wedding. We intended on renting 100 to have extra seats for cocktail hour, spares if there was any damage, and two extra place settings to honor members of the family who passed away recently. She did not budge, in fact she threatened that we cancel our wedding and suggested that we find another venue if we were unable to send her a revised copy of the rental invoice.
Her most obscene behavior took place at the end of the wedding night. She found me (the groom), the moment before the send off, to lecture/scold me on rules that were broken throughout the night. I can say with certainty that I look forward to never seeing her again, and advise you to consider my advise.
The gardens and Wagner house are a dream setting for an August wedding. The staff is also very helpful and give you lists of wonderful venders to use.
Our friends and family had such an amazing time wandering around the gardens on our wedding day! It is such a beautiful location and the staff was so helpful every step along the w...
