This was a perfect option for us, born and raised in Northern Wisconsin. This venue provided a welcoming, laid-back feel that really captured the vibe we wanted to portray for our...
special day. We had our wedding in April, which is not typical for the Northwoods of Wisconsin, but we lucked out to have a perfect day of weather. The staff was extremely helpful and flexible in our set-up. We ended up even being able to utilize outside space between the ceremony and reception for our guests to mingle and to take wonderful lakeside photos. We choose a Scandinavian-style buffet, which allowed us to use our culture and a cozy, tasty experience for the guests. We did an ice cream bar, which was a huge hit as well. The Lakewoods Ale from Leinenkugel's was a fun beer choice to provide, and also have a local Wisconsin option. We converted the dining room into a lodge-like wedding ceremony. While very tight and hot for the number of people (approx. 200), it was a beautiful ceremony. The conference room was such a fun space to have a convertible dance floor as well. The lodge itself needs some updating over time, but it is just so welcoming and relaxed, which definitely portrays the Northwoods feel. I'd love to go back again. There were lots of lodging options for our guests, while still being close enough to our small towns for guests to drive in. We are so thankful for the staff who helped make our wedding weekend possible in the beautiful Northwoods!
We recently had our wedding at Lakewoods, and couldn't be happier with the experience. Kathy and her staff carried the event for us with beautiful flower arrangements and setup, a...
s well as great ideas for where to find rentals like the tent, and stay within our budget. With their help, our photographer commented that we were the most relaxed bride and groom he had ever worked with. The grounds were perfect for the ceremony and reception, and our guests loved the beautiful setting as well as the many activities in the area. The staff was friendly and approachable (and often hilarious) and the food was fantastic. We could not recommend Lakewoods highly enough for anyone planning a wedding or similar gathering!
Needs new ceilings but very helpful at organizing the day!

sts a small vacation, as well as limiting the need to drive after the party!
The staff is very friendly and helpful. Upon deciding on this venue, the resort did a great job of staying in contact. They went through a change in staff two months before our wedding. This was stressful for me, however the owner of the resort jumped in!!
The rental price is about $1000. This does not include rooming, meals or activities. It does include seating at the wedding site, golf carts to chauffeur wedding guests, and sound system for wedding.
It was absolutely beautiful! If you are looking for an outdoor venue northern Wisconsin is it! Lakewoods Resort is the place to do it!!
It was a scenic venue on a lake. They had a place for the outdoor wedding many beautiful options for photos the reception hall had large picture windows looking out towards ...
the lake. I loved the food.;The contact person whom I had made arrangements with left sometime in July and I was not notified. If I had not contacted them to make sure all the arrangements were made I would not have known and I believe many things would have been overlooked. Up until that point I had chosen the venue not only on the location but also the attention to detail they seemed to have and how well I got along with the event planner. After she left there was a gap in planning and I was not happy with her replacement. ALso many members of my family were unable to attend due to unforeseen circumstances. When I gave them the final count 2 weeks before the wedding they said it was too low for the menu I had chosen. I was heart broken that they said I had to change my menu limiting the items on the buffet but I would still pay the same price per head even though there were less items. Also I had only 1 server the entire night and 1 bartender. I repaid for so many gallons of punch; I had take time out from talking with guest to request that it be refilled with punch that I had paid for in advance. A drink was included in the cost of the dinner but because we had only 1 server some guests did not get their drinks until after dinner was over; we were already cutting the cake. Also I paid for all the food but was unable to keep any of the leftovers.
