Lance Nicoll Wedding Photography

ur engagement pictures in City Park in January 2018 and when those pictures came in, we were so happy with our choice as we also booked a wedding package with him. On our wedding day, he and his assistant were super professional but also kept us at-ease -- everything felt so natural. He was super accommodating as well since I handed over a list of family pictures I wanted taken before our ceremony. I didn't think the pictures could be better than the engagement ones but they came out soooo beautiful. My husband and I (along with our family and friends) were amazed by them as he took a lot of them in natural light. He also sent us print outs and the photos on a USB drive but the packaging was beautiful as well. We're so happy that we went with him and would recommend him to those getting married in town or elsewhere!

appeal of his work is seen through his social media platforms and that is why I chose to hire him as my wedding photographer, however, I did not see the same consistency translated in my wedding photos and if I could go back I would change several photos. The importantnce of one's wedding day is to capture the most intimate moments with your spouse and reflect on them later in life , but some of my photos felt rushed and out of place. In traditional wedding photography , you often find the photographer will go through a list of photo's the bride has asked for to make sure each designated photo was taken. Although this was done prior to my wedding day, it was not excecuted in it's entirety. For example , I do not have photos with my parents or one with my brother . As the bride you hire people like a coordinator to control things that go on through out the day, but I also feel like it is the job of the photographer to also take charge make sure a bride is seen in her best light. I am an artist myself, and I have actually re edited several of my wedding day photos because they were out of focus, or I simply felt the angle was wrong. In other photos I am blinking etc. My reccomendation is to be sure of your wedding photographer and their vision before hiring them. I also paid for a second photographer, which was nice, but I wouldn't say it was necessary considering the photos I got back which felt a bit rushed. Due to the pricing of Lance's services one may expect more. I think an artist takes more time in something that is more appealing to them rather than what the client wants ,and for me this could not be more true. I also asked for a few photos to be looked at again that may have been under or over exposed, but I never received those. With work being as amazing as some of Lance's photos, his business is in high demand, and that is understanable, however I wish more time had been spend in the shooting my wedding day as well as the editing process. I would still recomment Lance to a bride looking for a fine arts wedding photographer because nothing in life is perfect and there will always be imperfections , but I would recommend a potential bride to make sure she is very calculated in her expectations and desires for the day.

We talked about what I wanted leading up to the wedding (minimal posed photos, as many candids as possible, photos that captured the New Orleans feel) and he BEYOND delivered. I’ve had the photos a month now and I still look at them every day. He perfectly captured our most intimate and special moments and I honestly didn’t even remember seeing him in the room for them. He also made us feel at ease and gave us good tips on posing. He knows what are the important pictures that need to be done and he also knows how to use his time wisely to provide the best photos according to the weather. It was rainy on my wedding day and he was totally unfazed. He ran around in the rain poncho and continued to shoot our ceremony and second line in the rain! And boy, those pictures are BREATHTAKING!!! For our reception, he took the most amazing pictures that made it look like posters of a concert!! He is so talented and genuine. He is also very quick to respond your emails if you have any concerns or questions. If you want wonderful pictures on your wedding day, you MUST hire Lance!! You will not regret it. Trust me.

wedding day. Lance's style and the way he captured weddings appealed to me. I scheduled a call with him to review what I was looking for. The thing that sold me on Lance was his personality and how I could tell he would remain cool, calm and collected on the day of the wedding. I could tell he was a professional and had a very calming sense about him, which I knew would be imperative on the day of. I also loved how Lance captured the natural light in all his photos. We met with Lance about two months before our wedding in person. He was the nicest and I was very excited to work with them. On the day, he was INCREDIBLE! So professional, efficient and again, the calming presence needed. Our wedding party kept commenting how great and accommodating he was. He also wasn't afraid to shove a bystander out of capturing the perfect shot if necessary! We have since received our wedding photos and I could not be more pleased. I have received a million compliments on them and he honestly made my husband and I look like models :) We could not have asked for a better photographer. He is excellent and I would HIGHLY recommend hiring him!

From Day 1 Lance was incredible to work with and a true professional. We now live in Dallas but I am originally from NOLA, so he was able to meet with us when we were in town or over the phone as needed. On the day of the wedding Lance took the lead and calmly organized and photographed our very large wedding party and families! endors face-t0-face was something I had a hard time with, being a total control freak, I just wanted to make sure that I was getting the best of the best. Well, Lance put ALL of my worries to ease from the very first phone call we had. I spoke with about 5-10 vendors all from New Orleans for photography, because it was one of the things I cared the most about. Lance went into detail about his career, how he teaches photography classes, has shot all over the world, his family, I mean he really opened up and made me feel like he was not only an amazing artist, but a class-act. From then, the rest is history. We exchanged e-mails over the months following and even had multiple phone conversations to ensure that I was at ease and felt good about the day-0f schedule. We even went over details such as the time of the sunset, so that we could optimize on the best lighting at the venue. I mean, c'mon! I didn't have a wedding planner so I really relied on my vendors to use their expertise to tell me when something was off or wrong. Lance helped me SO MUCH throughout the planning process and on the day of the wedding. He listened to my concerns and gave me advice on how to progress throughout the day. All of this to say, I do feel like I was a unicorn bride and really didn't get too worked up over the days events. So Lance was great at just rolling with the punches, and my rather large family, to ensure that everything ran smoothly. Not only that, but his work and professionalism are INCREDIBLE. You can tell that he takes pride in everything that he does, even how he presents himself, which gives you the utmost confidence in working with him. I cannot wait to get our photos back, as I know they are going to be breathtaking. If you take anything from this review, let it be this: Lance is an amazing artist that will ensure you feel spectacular as the Bride and that your wishes and concerns are taken care of as top priority.

He suggested City Park and we loved the big oak trees and Spanish moss - it fit perfectly with our colors. Our invite suit and rings, jewelry etc. were pretty basic but he was able to create neat shots of our details using different fabric and floral. Our group was incredibly comfortable with him the entire day. My husband and I are not great at posing or "modeling" but Lance managed to make everything feel very natural. We received the photos a few weeks after the wedding. I would highly recommend Lance for weddings in New Orleans!
