The entire staff was absolutely wonderful to work with and was willing to jump in and help at any moment. They even tore everything down for us at the end of the night which is amazing! ator was switched part way through our planning, we were never given notice and i called for weeks not getting any information. I had to email Jimmy Landoll directly before i got ANY infomation and this was months after i signed the contract and put down the deposit. Our new cooridnator Chelsea did not seem interested in our wedding at all, multiple times I tried asking her what her role would be, what she would handle, and what she wouldn't. I wanted a clear idea on these to plan my day accordingly. I was only ever given bare minimum responses from them. She was present though out the day and I heard she was helpful with the groomsmen, but I didn't really see her the entire day until I was about to walk down the aisle. It really just felt she and everyone there were super uninterested in our event, despite the substantial amount of money we put down. On top of all of this, I was told from the beginning the venue would be tearing down our decorations and boxing them up for to pick up in the morning. At 10:00pm, an hour before the end of the night, the end of night coordinator Mary approached me directly and asked what my plan for clean up was. I was extremely unhappy by this as I was trying to enjoy my wedding, and i had ensured that would be handled before the day of my wedding. After some back and forth she agreed them packing up was their policy as I had been directly advised by my coordinator Chelsea. When they packed up our decorations, they were literally thrown around. Some stuff was damaged. We had a photo wall with real photos, and more than half of those were damaged. Some ruined. This broke my heart and my mother in laws heart as she had some old originals of her son there. While scheduling our rehersal dinner we were given the run around for weeks after they told us the person we needed to talk to was fired. The room amenities were also a bit lacking, several of my guests had issues with the tvs in their room, and the shower in the Landoll suite my husband and I stayed in creaks underneath your feet obnoxiously the entire time you are in it. Overall, it's a beautiful venue but it is clear to my guests and I that they put money into aesthetic, not quality, and service was very lacking. I don't regret having my wedding here and again it all turned out mostly fine. but if I could go back in time and choose a different venue, I probably would. Beautiful venue, mediocre service.

ea was always very prompt in answering any emails with questions our changes we wanted to make. She coordinates with all of the vendors making sure they are where they need to be the day off. The location itself is stunning and the food is some of the best food we have had. I can’t recommend using this venue enough for your special day!

ior of a coordinator after a communication hiccups with our previous coordinator, deserves high praise for her responsiveness and dedication to making things right. On the downside, our ceremony had some unexpected challenges. The Reverend assigned to us repeatedly mispronounced my name, leading to some awkward moments and ultimately I had to trash the ceremony video I paid to have taken. This was a detail we had expected to be executed flawlessly considering we had worked with the reverend on four separate occasions including our rehearsal dinner. When we reached out to the management regarding these issues, the response was less empathetic than we had hoped for, leaving us somewhat disappointed. We were treated as if we were attempting to receive something for free or receive a refund. In reality, I had wanted to express the good and the bad. The manager specifically made a point to mention his hope that "we will overlook the bad and focus on the good," then immediately suggested we return for our anniversary. Unfortunately, I do not believe this will be the case. Given the significant investment we made, we had anticipated a smoother experience. I do want to again thank Melody and Mary for the parts they played in making our special day amazing besides the above mentioned. Aside from these hitches, like dated rooms and a bee problem, the wedding day itself went well. I genuinely hope that Landoll's Mohican Castle takes these concerns to heart for the benefit of future couples. If you're considering this venue, just keep these points in mind and plan accordingly.

after our original one left, and she went above and beyond in everything she did. We hosted a honeymoon raffle and we were stoked when she won one of the baskets! We're glad we had our wedding here because everything is included: several ceremony/reception options, a location for a rehearsal dinner or day-after brunch, optional post-reception pool party, bar, and catering. We had a few guests with dietary restrictions, and Landoll's did an amazing job with making dishes that accommodated those needs. We had to make a several last minute changes the day of our wedding due to the weather, and the staff was very accommodating and kindly moved a few things around when we needed them to. Please consider taking a look here!

you really get so much included - very fairly priced compared to other venues. The food was amazing and our guests could not stop talking about the braised beef short rib. All the staff that worked our rehearsal dinner and wedding day were amazing - bartenders, servers, setup, etc. We didn’t have signature cocktails but our bartender came up with some fun fall drinks and everyone kept coming up and asking us what drinks they were because they were amazing! 10/10 would recommend Jess and all the other staff and this venue!!!

de sure we were taken care of and organized. the food was delicious and plentiful, not hot but warm and still tasted amazing. the castle rooms were huge but not worth the price of $400+ a night. our heat wasnt working and had to have it fixed at 1am, the tvs were old school and small for how big the rooms were. the smell was musty. the walls were extremly thin, we heard every noise from people above us , beside us, and going up the stairs. other than that the castle grounds were beautiful. LOVED that there was both indoor and outdoor options and plenty of picture taking locations. There were extra fees here and there that were unexpected but overall a magical place to get married

We had a crazy, hectic rehearsal and the morning of our wedding hit a few snags, but with each bump in the road Brittanie was prepared with 3 alternatives that were even better than our original plans. Without her, our wedding truly would have been a disaster. The only reason this review is getting 4 stars instead of 5 is because of issues we had with the hotel. We informed them at the time of booking our wedding that our dog would be staying somewhere with us. They informed us of the pet friendly cabin on their property, and my MOH booked that room and agreed to house our dog. Well, upon arrival, there was no air conditioning or WiFi in the hotel. On a nearly 90 degree day in July. Our dog is brachycephalic and struggles in the heat. Then my MOH had a leaking fridge and other issues in her room that required her to leave the room while maintenance was in and out. We were not comfortable leaving our dog in a room with strangers coming in and out, so we moved him to our room for a total of 2 hours. We came back to be berated by a college intern at the hotel and both of us were charged $150 fees for having a dog even though the cabin was supposed to be pet friendly. I am still confused as to why both of us were charged this fee when she had already paid for the pet friendly room. In addition to these issues with the hotel, we also found many, many bugs (if I could attach pictures, I would) in our room in the castle. I understand that this is an outdoorsy spot, but that does not excuse the AMOUNT of bugs found in our second floor room, especially the bathroom. If a hotel charges over 400 per night, I expect that level of quality in the room.

is event! Truly a one stop shop that had separate and gorgeous areas for ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. Brittanie and her staff were so attentive and easy to work with. Anytime I needed anything, they were there to lend a hand or provide me with what I requested. The wait staff and bartenders were personable and handled everyone quickly! They were also friendly as they either brought food for dinner or made your drink. I hope we get to be part of another event there sometime soon. Although it may be off your typical "beaten path", it truly was like stepping into another wonderful world for an evening where you could forget about life for a while and just have fun!

onville. Our favorite part is that so many of our guests were able to stay on the property either in the castle, in the stable rooms, in the highland building, or in the cabins. We used the wedding terrace in front of the castle waterfall for our ceremony, the pavilion for our cocktail hour, and the Marta Louise Ballroom for our reception. All of the spaces are beautiful and perfect for what they are used for, and it is really convenient that they sit adjacent to each other and allow the day to flow so smoothly. We even used the pool space for our after party and had so much fun!! Shayla Landoll, our wedding coordinator, is a super woman! We cannot praise her professionalism, kindness, and dedication enough. She was extremely responsive throughout the entire process and answered the millions of questions in our emails and texts every single time. On our wedding weekend, she made sure everything was perfect. On the Friday of our rehearsal dinner, she walked back and forth up the hill a dozen or more times to help fill all our vases with water. She had all of our charger plates washed in the kitchen after dinner and helped us clean everything up and store it away for the next day. This was all while coordinating another wedding that was going on in the rehearsal space that night. She opened the rehearsal space early for us on Saturday morning and helped tie our chair sashes, set up our tables, fold our napkins, etc. She brought us mimosas and set up a table in the middle of the room so that we could take a break to enjoy breakfast from the restaurant (which was very tasty, as always!). Her presence on Saturday morning eased all my stresses and allowed us all to have such a fun and exciting morning. She made sure we adhered to our timeline and had everyone where they needed to be when they needed to be there. During the reception, she checked in with us frequently to make sure everything was going well. She also communicated with all of our vendors, served a lot of the dinners, and cleaned up spills on the dance floor. She really does it ALL and does it SO WELL. Not only is the venue absolutely enchanting, but the people there, especially Shayla, are extremely passionate about what they do and it could not be more apparent. All of our guests had wonderful things to say about our wedding and we will continue to recommend Landoll’s to all of our family and friends in the future.

to reschedule our wedding from last year, it was definitely a roller coaster of emotions at all points of the wedding planning process. But Shayla truly was my rock throughout the entire process. She was the perfect wedding planner who listened, cared and did whatever she could to make sure that our "new" day was nothing but special. They also provide the catering and I can't tell you how many guests told us that was the BEST wedding food they had ever had! It was such a magical and enchanting day, I never dreamed our wedding would be so perfect and it was all because of Landoll's Mohican Castle! Thank you so much for everything!

They provide a list of local vendors to work with for other aspects of the wedding, and their suggestions are great. We loved that catering was included (one less thing to worry about!) and that our guests and wedding party could stay onsite the entire weekend if they chose to. If you stay for a few days, book a ghost hunt tour! All in all, 12/10 would recommend to anyone who wants to have a dreamy fairytale wedding.

When Covid19 happened, they were SO accommodating in helping us switch our date a couple months out while also ensuring our guests who were staying on the property still could stay in the rooms they had originally booked. They were incredibly calm during an uncertain time and were so accommodating to keeping our guests safe while also making our wedding day the best day ever. They did everything from spacing out chairs to helping us arrange some seating outdoors last minute. Shayla was incredibly easy to talk to, down to earth and genuinely cared about us and our guests having the best day. If you're looking for a caring stuff, exceptional food and beautiful venue, Landoll's is the way to go. It's also a wonderful place to have a lot of your guests stay in one place so you can enjoy the entire evening and next morning with your guests. Oh and did I mention it's at a castle!? So many of our guests were commenting how cool the venue was, how great the food was and how sweet the staff was! Highly recommend this venue and highly recommend Shayla as your coordinator!

Our wedding guests received 5 star service throughout their entire stay. The staff of Landoll’s Mohican Castle are truly remarkable and did the most amazing job. Because I live in another state nearly all wedding coordination was handled over the phone or by email. Shayla (our wedding coordinator) dealt with all details promptly and professionally. She assisted in answering my questions, referring vendors from the area, and was hands-on from morning until night over the course of 3 days of our event.  She even handled our live butterflies with expertise and care! With rain in the forecast, Shayla coordinated with our vendors and improvised times when needed. The staff picked up everything from the wedding site, dried all chairs, reset everything in place, TWICE!  They accommodated every hiccup and made our day flawless. Our chef, Kyle, listened to all my specific meal requirements and customized a menu to reflect not only taste but a culinary art that was presented beautifully on our plates for not only our reception but also the rehearsal dinner and the send-off breakfast. Landoll’s Mohican Castle is a gem of wedding venues. The overall experience left me with a riveting fairytale wedding that can be told for years to come through family, friends, and photos to cherish for a lifetime.

ning my wedding and I kept saying no. My wedding planner was Melody and she was an absolute delight and took care of everything. I just let her know what I was hoping for, mostly through emails, and she took care of the details to make it happen. So many of my guests came to tell me how beautiful the site was, and I can only agree. They also mentioned they didn’t even know the castle was there, even though they’ve lived in Ohio for years, so it’s a hidden gem. They also all made a point to say how good the food was at my reception. We used the ballroom and it was a really nice room that barely needed any additional decorations (just a few things to give it a fall time vibe, but the bar, flooring, and lighting are all really nice on their own.) The staff, particularly those working the bar/wait staff were so friendly and kind. We stayed in the castle the night before and night of my wedding and they really make you feel like royalty. And the rooms are so nice! I’ll definitely be back in the future. Thank you to Melody and all the other workers who helped make my day a worry free experience!

They went so far as to leave a gift for us in our room for the evening. Shayla made sure our day went smoothly and kept us in the loop when needed and went to our designated people when it was something they could handle. The food was excellent and all of the guests raved about it (steak and salmon). It should also be said we're a same sex couple and not once were we made to feel uncomfortable during our experience. I would easily recommend this venue to anyone. It may seem pricey but it was worth every single penny!

She was so proactive and responded to emails pretty much immediately - anything we asked for, she took care of it. I think the best part of Mohican was all the back up ceremony locations. Luckily, weather permitted and we had a beautiful ceremony outside right in front of the castle, but it was comforting to know there were options. We also loved that there was lodging on-site since most of our guests had to travel. 10/10 would recommend for any bride.

We had a cocktail hour at the pavilion next to the ceremony site and it was such a nice way for us and our guests to relax before the reception. It was just the best day ever and if we had to do it all over again we would do it at Landoll's without a doubt! All of our guest only had great things to say about the food and the venue itself! She had helpful suggestions for things I didn't even think about and was always flexible! Throughout this experience, we formed a friendship. That may sound silly, but that is the amount of love and care she put into making my daughter's special day perfect! There was not a detail missed! The grounds are stunningly manicured and the entire staff was pleasant and helpful. Josh and Mary were especially helpful as I brought the majority of the decorations with me and had to unload them and set up. Everyone was so accommodating to our every need. The rooms are gorgeous! Something out of a fairy tale and the majority of our guest stayed in one of the 17 uniquely decorated castle suites or in the additional rooms available at the newly renovated Stables. Everyone raved about the lodging and lastly, the food was spectacular! Chef Kyle and his staff out did themselves. All the guests were impressed by the quality of their meal and the generous portions. If you are looking to have an outdoor wedding, The Castle is where you should book!! Thank you to everyone there for the best wedding I could have possibly given to our daughter and our new son-in-law!

he summer. Shayla was absolutely fantastic- so helpful and flexible with all of the planning details. Although I didn’t have an official planner, I feel like she really takes on that role and takes care of the couple well. Our wedding went so smoothly and from what I hear that was partially due to Shayla making sure things were how we wanted (i.e. interacting with the DJ/vendors & also all the little details) and helping out in general (we locked ourselves out a time or two and Shayla quickly got us keys). She is truly a wonderful person- so sweet and fun and detail oriented and also very professional! Kyle, the chef, was amazing. Our tasting was incredible and he was both friendly & professional. Even all the servers/bartenders were genuinely kind- which was something both we and our guests noticed and appreciated. Our food was awesome and the pricing is great. The outdoor wedding and indoor reception areas are beautiful and both were upgraded even from when we were there to visit in the winter to when we had our wedding this summer. They provide the linens/napkins and chargers and uplighting which some venues do not. We were also able to order food to be delivered to our rooms while getting ready. It truly was like having a semi-destination wedding- beautiful grounds, indoor pool, restaurant and resources available onsite. The rooms in the castle are beautiful. We got ready in the Lawrence suite which was had plenty of room for all the girls (5 of us) plus my mom and a few others. The only downside would be the lighting- for make up purposes- if it is bright and sunny the window works, but otherwise it is very warm lighting. The only issues we had were with the front desk. Early on, they accidentally gave away our room but we called Shayla and she immediately took care of it and it didn’t happen again. During our wedding, the front desk staff were supposed to hand out our gift bags upon check in and a lot of guests didn’t get them and we had to go ask them to please hand them out (twice). Otherwise, everything was truly perfect & we highly recommend Landoll’s & Shayla for a wedding venue!!
