We held our wedding reception at the Laramie Plains Museum in September, and it couldn't have been more perfect. The venue itself is gorgeous, so much so that it didn't need much decorating! The staff are angels who were so accommodating, happy to help wherever they could, and answered all of our questions. Planning, setup, and cleanup were made so easy with their help. We are so appreciative of their kindness and we couldn't recommend this venue more. It truly is so stunning and unique and the perfect place to celebrate a perfect day.

We held our wedding at the Laramie Plains Museum in Laramie, WY this past August, and it could not have been a more perfect experience. The venue itself is absolutely beautiful — full of charm and history — and made a stunning backdrop for both our ceremony and reception. What really stood out to us was the incredible staff. Everyone we worked with was kind, professional, and genuinely invested in making sure our day went smoothly. They were organized, responsive, and made the entire planning process much easier. One detail we really appreciated was how simple the end-of-night process was. They had a great key return system in place, which made wrapping up the night stress-free — something any couple will appreciate after a long and joyful day! We would absolutely recommend the Laramie Plains Museum to anyone looking for a unique, elegant, and well-run venue. It’s a gem of the gem city and a truly wonderful place to celebrate love.

Laramie, WY’s historic heart contains the Laramie Plains Museum, a wedding venue that contains a piece of history and gives you a unique setting for your big day. The museum boasts the spectacular Alice Hardie Stevens Center and the picturesque, lush East Lawn. Both spaces can be used for the reception and ceremony, allowing you to hold the wedding of your dreams at one picture-perfect property. The Alice Hardie Stevens Center is part of the Historic Ivinson Mansion block located at the heart of Laramie. The original structure, built in 1924, was renovated and expanded in 2018 to include a ballroom with a vaulted beamed ceiling and a large chandelier. You can welcome up to 250 seated nivitees or 350 standing guests for a cocktail reception. The stunning buildings and extensive pristine grounds, including English gardens, are maintained as a historic property, making a wonderful backdrop for an outdoor ceremony, reception, or photos. For guests and wedding parties, our rentable Mason Loft Condos are conveniently located directly across the street. All proceeds from events go towards the operation of the historic house museum as well as collection management, maintenance, restoration, and preservation. To help ensure an unforgettable experience, the Laramie Plains Museum provides 250 folding chairs for the ceremony with tables, Chivari chairs, and cocktail tables available for the reception. The Alice Hardie Stevens Center also features a dressing room to prepare on-site in comfort. Meet the team

Michelle Gonzales
Rentals Coordinator
Michelle was born and raised in Laramie. She worked for 20 years at Jeffrey's Bistro. In 2022, Michelle came to the Laramie Plains Museum to work as the Rentals Coordinator. She enjoys working with the bride and groom to set up the venue for their special day.
Konnie Cronk
Interim Executive Director
Konnie has worked at the Laramie Plains Museum since fall of 2015. She started off in the Curatorial Department, first as registrar, and eventually made it to curator in 2018. I have a degree in medieval European History (Yes, we know, nothing to do with American History, Westward Expansion, or American Victoriana), and originally no idea that she'd love working with physical objects from a historical context. Konnie says "It has been a whirlwind learning the ins and outs of preservation, setting up museum exhibits and maintaining a historic house, but I wouldn't wish to change my time here." Recently, Konnie has stepped into the Executive Director role as interim and found that she loves this aspect of the museum as well. She finds it is especially rewarding working directly with the public and meeting the various people who visit the museum, whether its for a museum tour through our 1892 Victorian mansion or meeting people who are using our venue for a wedding or other event.
Lucas Fralick
Assistant Director
Lucas grew up in Gillette, WY, and has lived in Laramie for a while now. He has extensive experience working with museums across Wyoming and the Smithsonian Institute. Lucas Has served on museum boards and worked with various fundraising associations. He has experience coordinating events of various sizes and public programming for virtual and in-person audiences. Lucas holds and MA in History from the University of Wyoming.
Sam Hunter
Grounds Keeper
Sam was born and raised in Laramie. He is currently attending the University of Wyoming and works as our Grounds Keeper at the museum in his spare time. He does a wonderful job at keeping the grass green and mowed, maintaining the trees and helping the Garden Club ladies when they need it.
