We were so excited to book Largo Resort after touring the property. The resort is absolutely beautiful, and we were sold on the promise of close communication and a seamless, strai...ghtforward process.
Unfortunately, the 9 months between booking and our wedding were an absolute nightmare.
Because we booked a full buyout of the resort, coordination was especially important. We were responsible for organizing room assignments for all guests, yet despite providing detailed spreadsheets, we were repeatedly left without clarity or accurate updates from their team.
Throughout the planning process, we were passed between six different points of contact. Staff turnover was constant, and multiple times we would reach out for updates, wait weeks with no response, and then find out that our wedding contact no longer worked there. Each time, we would have to repeatedly call just to learn there was a new wedding director, who had no understanding of where we were in the process, forcing us to start over again and again.
We escalated the situation respectfully to the owner, Jun, simply asking for one consistent point of contact, or at the very least communication when our account was being reassigned due to staff turnover. We never received a response.
Additionally, two different managers confirmed that we would receive a Florida resident discount. However, due to the constant staff turnover and lack of communication, this discount was not honored by the current management.
The most frustrating issue came with our final balance. One sales manager confirmed our remaining balance twice in writing. When we asked for a breakdown to understand the amount, we received nothing but were reassured both times that the amount was correct. Two weeks later, after again having to follow up due to no response, we discovered we had yet again another new wedding director. At that point, we were told the balance was actually three times higher than what had been previously confirmed.
When we raised concerns and once again requested a payment breakdown, we were told to “be patient” because there were “six other brides dealing with similar issues,” which was incredibly concerning and frustrating to hear so close to our wedding date.
Per our contract, final payment was due 30 days prior to the wedding. We made multiple attempts to resolve the balance and pay on time, but were given no clear and consistent conflicting information. A week before the wedding I requested that the remaining balance simply be charged to my card on file (sent to both the general manager and wedding director). Again, no response… Instead, we were approached during our wedding rehearsal asking for final payment.
To make matters worse, as guests began arriving, rooms were not ready, and the front desk was calling us, during our rehearsal, to ask which guests should be assigned to what rooms, even though all rooming details had already been clearly provided multiple times.
Overall, the property itself is beautiful, and the grounds and cleaning staff were absolutely incredible. However, the lack of organization, communication, and accountability from management and ownership made the entire planning process a nightmare.
If you are looking for an stress-free wedding experience with reliable communication and organization, I would unfortunately strongly recommend looking elsewhere under this current ownership.
