Ariel is just the best to work with! My husband and I aren’t exactly the best at getting our photos taken but Ariel walked us through everything and our photos turned out great. She isn’t afraid to advocate for what you told her you want. I highly recommend her!

Ariel and Bora are such gems! We hired them to be our wedding photographers and they captured everything PERFECTLY. My husband and I are camera shy, but they were able to make us laugh and relaxed for our photos. We loved all the candid photos they took of us and our guests, and how they took their time to scout for the best areas. We had a truly epic wedding this July thanks to Lark and Lavender. Ariel is a joy to work with. She’s cheerful, upbeat, and is able to give perfect direction to us introverted camera-shy folks. Hiring Ariel was hands down the best decision I made for my wedding. (right up there with the groom ;)) Ariel was the photographer at my brother's wedding, and I knew I loved her photos but even more I loved the vibe she brought to the day! She really cares about her couples and I can't tell how much she helped calm my nerves, hype me up, and support me before walking down the aisle!! Ariel was truly a wonderful, kind, and passionate person to work with. She worked to get to know my husband and I before we even began talking about prices and packages (definitely shows that money isn't all she cares about!). She was highly organized and efficient too. On the day of the wedding, she got all the family photos taken care of so that our guests could enjoy the event, and she worked to find special places to take beautiful photos of my husband and I. So far, I've only seen the sneak peaks, but I keep coming back to them each day because of how awesome those look! I have to reiterate that Ariel is truly a caring and sweet person. We are so happy that we chose her to be our photographer! :)

We hired Ariel for our wedding back in January of 2022. I've been a fool waiting so long to review her but she was 10/10 across the board of professionalism, personality and quality of work! Ariel was an incredible person and photographer from our very first time meeting her and especially the day of our wedding (from start to finish!) Ariel is the best!!!

Ariel is absolutely amazing. We were looking for a photographer who did fantastic work with color and someone who was very personable. We found both of these with Lark and Lavender. From the very start with our engagement photo shoot, my husband and I felt comfortable being directed by her and our photos turned out gorgeous. The photos from our wedding told a story of the day and they weren't white washed the way we felt most wedding photography is. I would defiantly book her again for any upcoming photo needs. Ariel was hired for a wedding that I planned. She was very professional, kind, fun, punctual, and pleasant to work with - leading up to the special day and the day of the wedding. She was very communicative with me (which not all vendors are). She knew how to talk to the guests, bride, groom, parents in a respectful manner and helped me wrangle people / trying to get them together for shots that were needed (which is not as easy as it sounds)! We found Ariel last-minute for our wedding on 9/26/20 in Santa Barbara. Although we met the day of the wedding, Ariel was incredibly professional, sweet, and listened to our ideas of what we wanted to do - e.g., we liked more smiley and fewer romantic/serious photos. I also explained I wasn’t super into the pictures that are of inanimate objects (like table settings and rings etc) so she didn’t waste a lot of time on those and just took a couple that I’m glad we have. Since we had a covid wedding, there were also a lot of rules at the time, re masks and how many people could be at the church, being outside in the church courtyard under an also last-minute tent, social distancing so Ariel had to stand kind of far away, etc., and she navigated all of these hurdles with ease. The priest also had specific instructions about where he would allow cameras and she heeded these respectfully, while still capturing the special components of the Greek Orthodox ceremony. Ariel made sure to get all of the getting ready photos and group photos we wanted during the reception, but my favorite photos were the absolute STUNNERS outside of the Church following our ceremony in the beautiful garden. She took her time with my husband and I on these and clearly had scouted out the best spots in the church courtyard at some point. They look like they are from magazines! She also is very attentive and caught candid moments that were sweet and also some funny, which was an added bonus. Apart from her beautiful, airy photos, the VERY BEST PART of Ariel’s service (at least as a bride) was that she returned probably about 30 of our best photos the very next morning, already edited. So I woke up with a little highlight reel of our wedding that I could share with everyone at breakfast. My husband and I have now had a child, but our favorite photo Ariel took at our wedding is still (and I think may always be) his cell phone background. Ariel is hands down my favorite vendor from my wedding. From our first meeting on the computer we knew that Ariel would be the perfect fit for our wedding photographer. As highly anxious and slightly chaotic people we needed someone like Ariel to be cool, calm, and collected for our day! We had our first in person meeting at our engagement shoot which she was instrumental in helping us plan and get all necessary paperwork for! We had the best time and our pictures turned out amazing! Next we had a meeting a couple of weeks before our wedding and that helped set up logistics for the day of! Day of Ariel was great! She was so instrumental in making sure everything was happening on time and getting done as discussed! She got all of the pictures I wanted and some I didn't even know I wanted! She was so kind and helpful and even offered to drive me to the venue when I wasn't sure how I was getting there! I'm definitely going to miss her now that the wedding is over, but I'm so glad that she photographed our wedding! Our sneak peek turned out AMAZING and I can't wait to see how the rest of the photos turned out!

We had the pleasure of working with Ariel three times, starting right before the pandemic lockdown with our engagements photos, and through the pandemic with our micro-wedding and the postponed full wedding. We video interviewed a number of photographers during our search and what attracted us the most to Ariel, aside from her gorgeous portfolio, was how well we hit it off right away with her energetic and bubbly personality. With her photos, we loved how much she valued the natural lighting and how well she captures all of the natural candid moments within the events. When it came time to prepare for our engagement shoot, she was very organized and detailed about her process. She had us complete a questionnaire to get a feel of our interests and dynamic as a couple, which helped her to learn more about us and to create a vision for what type of photos we would be taking. We warned her that we've never done any type of professional shoots before and that we weren't big on PDA or having our photos taken, so she helped ease us by making us do ice breaker type routines between each shot to get us laughing and more comfortable with each other and in the moment. She was patient in walking us through the poses and how to best hold each other and angle ourselves, and even showed us the quick result from her camera screen to show us how great we were doing. The entire shoot was a breeze, and by the end we were practically (kind of) pros when it came to doing the posing! When it came time for our micro-wedding, we were already so well prepared by her from our engagement session that it was easier, less stressful, and not as awkward to have our photos taken. She had us prepare beforehand by providing a shot list of every family and wedding party photo combo we wanted, and it led to a very quick process in running through all of them on the day of. We held the ceremony at a Catholic church which held their own set of photographer rules and restrictions on where to shoot, but she was well experienced with such church restrictions and was still able to get all of the amazing angles and shots. On the day of our full wedding, we were practically vets with her along with her 2nd photographer. The photos again were an easy process where we each knew what was needed with little instruction, and she worked graciously and seamlessly with our videographer team in ensuring everyone got their shots right. During dinner we were able to zoom through our 20+ table meet and greet in record time because she and her 2nd photographer were organized in preparing the upcoming table for the next photo. Our entire wedding party and family raved about working with her and loved all of our photos, enough to where we will be seeing her again for our friends' own upcoming wedding. We absolutely enjoyed the many hours we have spent with her throughout our wedding journey and we can't recommend her enough!

Ariel was amazing to work with and the all the photos turned out wonderful (and there were so many!). She was cheery and helpful throughout the process. Ariel was absolutely amazing from start to finish! The moment I first talked to Ariel on the phone she took the time to explain her process and experience. She made me feel immediately confident with using her as our photographer. Once we confirmed services , Ariel took the time to send my husband and I a questionnaire to fill out to get to know us better. I think this was a great way to connect and get a feel for who we are. About a week before the wedding, Ariel was on top of everything and asked for a shot list to make sure we didn't miss any pictures we wanted to be sure to have. On the day of the weeding, Ariel arrived early to make sure she could get a good look around the venue for the best photo opps. Ariel was so sweet, detail oriented, and comfortable with giving direction to our big group. During the whole day, my friends kept telling me how much they liked our photographer. My husband and I originally planned to have a destination wedding in 2020, however due to COVID plans changed. Thankfully we were able to connect with Ariel for a last minute intimate ceremony. From our online consultation to the big day, she exceeded our expectations. After the ceremony was over she took us to a beautiful outdoor location for photos with those who attended. Loveeeeee, their work is amazing! Ariel was very pleasant and great with listening to our wishes and made my dream wedding pictures come true. Ariel is possibly the coolest photographer ever! She is easy going and has an incredible eye for great shots that will forever cherish the moments you shared with your spouse on your big day! Ariel was the best! She made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera. She has a warm presence that immediately set us at ease. She was unobtrusive during the ceremony and reception, but somehow still got every single shot I wanted. Ariel also sent us a few 'teaser' photos a day after the wedding, which were perfect for posting on social media. We got the rest of our photos very quickly, and each shot was stunning. We are so happy for everything Ariel did to create such beautiful pictures for us! We had a phone meeting before the wedding where we talked about what kind of photos we like, and she had gone to the location before and found some beautiful places for us to take our photos. Everything went very smooth and she had evert location planned out and everything was right on schedule. She was right on time (we were not... wedding day stress!!) and she took pictures of the ceremony venue before we arrived. She was so helpful during the whole day and made us feel very comfortable! We did not have a wedding planner for our wedding, and Ariel guided us through the day and helped with so much more than just taking photos, and we are so grateful for that! Ariel was a dream to work with. She makes you feel comfortable and takes those candid photos you always will look at. She communicates well and is very talented. Ariel did such a wonderful job with our photos. She was highly ecstatic and eccentric when working with us. She even assisted in some wardrobe mishaps! Everything she took was so real and in the moment. She even persuaded me to put up with my heavy dress train for longer than intended. I love that she took my request and gir pictures of my husband while I was walking down the aisle. For a one woman operation she was the best! Highly recommend her to everyone!

Ariel is meticulous and detail-oriented. She builds rapport with her clients and establishes a very high level of trust and comfort. Most notably, Ariel doesn’t need to be told what to photograph or where to be—she’s there and she knows what to do. Ariel shot my husband and I's engagement session, along with our anniversary photos and I wish she had been available to shoot my wedding almost daily - but I wasn't so lucky. My favorite aspect of Ariel (aka Lark & Lavender) is how she LISTENS and COMMUNICATES with the couple. She is incredibly professional and makes sure she understands what you want out of your images, and makes sure she gets the shots that will bring you joy. She is great at giving direction to her couples to make sure they get a great shot together. I'm a self-proclaimed adorkable person who can get super awkward in front of a camera, and Ariel has a way of gently suggesting a better angle/shot or inspiring a more natural smile. She doesn't just click a button but is actually looking at the shot she is getting in order to make it a beautiful image. She also doesn't heavily treat her images with heavy filters.
