I found Sarah Downs and Lashes and Lace on The Knot I believe! And boy am I glad that I did. Sarah and her team were a perfect addition to my wedding. We had them do my hair and makeup along with my bridesmaids and my mother in law. Her makeup artist, LaDonna was so fantastic! I truly have never looked so glam! Not only was the team extremely talented, Sarah was communicative every step of the way. She even gave me a gift bag with mini makeup touch ups that she left with the team for them to give me, which was so sweet. I highly recommend Sarah Downs and her team at Lashes and Lace!

My spouse and I are a gay couple and the one thing we wanted to do for our wedding was to work with vendors who are LGBT friendly or LGBT themselves. It was really important to me as a queer, non-binary presenting person to work with someone who would respect and understand my identity. I came upon Lashes & Lace when searching for a makeup+hair team and I really liked the work they had done and I noticed other LGBT couples in their portfolio. The rest is history as they say. Sarah was the first vendor we hired so she played a big role in helping us find other vendors who would be LGBT friendly. She is compassionate, and was very sympathetic to our situation. She really tailored the whole experience to us, taking care to pay attention to the little details of our likes and vision for the wedding. She has a very thorough workflow, was very flexible with our schedules, and was very knowledgeable. Both me and my wife felt we were in good hands. Ladonna and Jenny did our hair + makeup. They were so warm when we met them at our bridal trial and really understood the styles we were going for. They would hype us up so much, it really makes you feel special. The team was honestly a shining light during a stressful wedding day morning. If there was one thing we knew was going to be ok, it was that Ladonna, Jenny, and Pi would be there handling our looks and our bridesmaids' looks. The team went out of their way to make us feel pampered and relaxed (shoutout to Theresa for being an assistant not only to the artists but to the brides as well). Sarah and her team are awesome people with infectious energy who we really vibed with. They take a very personable approach to their clients, and it makes you feel welcomed and relaxed. If I have an opportunity to work with them again, I'll absolutely go for it.

Lashes and Lace was fantastic! Sarah was extremely detailed and provided great schedules. She was so easy to communicate with and answered questions at any time. The Lashes and Lace team was a dream to work with. Sarah was very detailed and great at communicating every step of the way. Her team was incredibly kind and flexible working with us when our original wedding was rescheduled and changed in scope (originally a 2020 wedding). LaDonna did my hair and Kaia did my makeup and they both made me feel like a true queen on my wedding day. Lashes and Lace made me feel confident and beautiful and were a joy to work with. I highly recommend booking them for any event you want to look and feel your best.

Lashes and Lace was an truly wonderful addition to our wedding vendor list. Sarah was super easy to work with, especially given all the weirdness of pandemic times. LaDonna is just the absolute best at hair and makeup, and an absolutely wonderful person to get to know through the process. We had a Halloween wedding, and Lashes and Lace was able to accommodate my girls' costume makeup and last minute changes/additions. Definitely recommend!

We hired Lashes and Lace on a recommendation from our wedding planner and they were such a great fit for our wedding. Sarah and her team understood the look we were going for and did such a great job. I loved my bridal preview, Bonnie and LaDonna were incredible and made me feel so beautiful on the big day. Additionally, I really appreciated their covid measures and precautions. Would recommend to anyone!

They did my hair & makeup for my engagement pictures and wedding! Sarah was beyond organized and made being a COVID bride extremely manageable! Scheduling was flawless and the makeup/hair was insane! They made us all look like bombshells! I’m talking Hollywood glam on the next level. LaDonna has done my hair & makeup several times in the past for various occasions and I highly recommend her to everyone. The entire team was professional, accommodating and kind! Made the entire party feel so comfortable and safe considering the pandemic. They are all rockstars and I HIGHLY recommend using them if you want to feel like an absolute queen!

I was really disappointed in Sarah from the start for many different reasons. I felt my make up trial was unprofessional and not at all what I had showed her or envisioned. She works from her home and I had hygiene concerns. I didn’t feel like her supplies were properly cleaned and there were various bad odors coming from different sources. I showed her a few pictures and liked different things about each one. She only picked one picture to go off of (without saying anything) and didn’t communicate with me on what colors I wanted and just went with it, chatting with the woman doing my hair about their intimate lives and relationship issues. When I voiced I felt pink eye shadow was not for me, she was so rude about it and acted like it was the biggest inconvenience that I did not like the colors. I had never experienced someone just doing whatever they felt and not consulting the bride on what she wanted for her day. I would have gone a different way after my experience at the makeup trial had it not been so close to our wedding. Never book someone without meeting them! Then COVID hit and I had to reschedule our wedding the week before it was set. We scheduled it for a date a few months later but COVID was still restricting things. We decided to move it to next year on our anniversary to keep everyone safe and have the day we envisioned. She wanted to charge me an extra 1,300 for rescheduling my wedding due to the pandemic. I explained that part of the reason I wanted to reschedule were the new restrictions she had put in place and felt it was better to wait until we could have the day we planned for. She refused to refund all our money or waive the rescheduling fee. We paid over 2,000 for a job she didn’t do and she still refused to refund anything but the 400 she had charged us for travel. Overall as a bride I felt that she did not care to make our day special from the get go and tried to monetize on a situation that was out of our control. Thankfully all our other vendors were such a joy to work with from the beginning and were so understanding and did not charge fees or cause a fuss at all. I just wish it had been the same with her. Highly highly do not recommend.

This company provided all of the hair and makeup services for my daughter’s wedding day. Besides being absolutely fabulously talented, they were organized, friendly and professional. No ask was too hard to accommodate! They even provided excellent above and beyond services to one of the bridesmaids who had just completed chemo. Sarah and her amazing stylist were professional, proficient and a huge help on the wedding day!! Booking them was a total win!!!

I am a coordinator and worked a wedding with this company a few weeks ago. They were very professional, friendly, and GOOD at what they do. Everyone looked amazing! Would definitely recommend.

I admit to being skeptical whether a professional makeup and hair artist were needed for our wedding but after hearing glowing review of Sarah and her team, my wife and I decided to give them a try. Best decision of the wedding. Having professionals on hand took a huge load of stress off my bride and our grooms-maids and made all of them absolutely shine. We had a preview session a few months before the wedding and my then fiance and I walked out blown away by the results and so glad we chose to use Lashes and Lace. The hair stylist LaDonna worked with our pinterest board to create the exact look my wife was looking for and the makeup artist Kaia enhanced her natural features and made her eyes just pop. Friendly, helpful, and just incredibly kind, I can't say enough good things about the team at Lashes and Lace and we are so happy to have found them.

Lashes and Lace is amazing! I worked with Tiniia, Kaia, and I believe Bonnie. They were all so amazing and made me feel so beautiful! I never wear any makeup or do anything to my hair, so I was pretty clueless coming into the whole thing. I provided them with pictures of the hairstyle I wanted, and they delivered to a tee! As for makeup, I told them do whatever will bring my eyes out and looks natural. They did just that, and I felt more beautiful than I ever had. Add to all that that they’re all super fun people to be around, and you have a great wedding day ahead of you!

Sarah was a joy to work with and super organized in the planning of my engagement shoot makeup and hair and my wedding day makeup and hair. She also planned the timeline for all my bridesmaids to get their makeup done the morning of my wedding; she is great at timing the makeup and hair sessions so you never feel rushed on the day of. Kaia did my makeup, and LaDonna did my hair for both my engagement shoot and wedding day. I was so happy with how my bridesmaids’ and my makeup and hair turned out! All of it looked so fabulous both in person and in the photos. The Lashes and Lace staff can really create any type of look you're going for. Ladonna did a wonderful job for my bridal portraits and my wedding makeup and hair! My pictures turned out beautifully and I was so glad that I decided to hire someone to do my makeup and hair versus trying to do it myself. Ladonna listened to my style and was great at tweaking things that I wanted to tweak afterwards. I felt very beautiful on the day of our wedding and the makeup looks beautiful in the pictures!

With great honor I write this review for dear Sarah Downs. Sarah was my sister’s make-up artist at her wedding and I decided that day that when my special day comes, she will be my makeup artist as well. I got married a year ago and of course I used her and got tons of compliments. Sarah is especially talented and is very artistic. She is a true professional and is very easy to get along with. She truly listens to her clients and delivers amazing results. She takes her time and does not stop until she is satisfied and until she makes sure that you are completely satisfied and happy. She gives every person the attention they deserve and is a perfectionist in her work. We have already used her multiple times. I still have to do my professional wedding photos and my husband wants to get them done in Canada but honestly the only major setback with that is that I won’t have Sarah as my makeup artist and I can’t take a risk with having someone else. I sincerely and with great pleasure, recommend Sarah. You will be very glad to work with her and will certainly love your results.

I was a bridesmaid in a friend's wedding last week, and Sarah did my makeup. Although we fell behind schedule, I never once felt rushed throughout the process. Sarah was very complimentary and explained what she was doing/envisioned every step of the way. She offered me many options, and was not pushy in upselling products which was greatly appreciated. She also took the time to listen to my concerns and opinions. I loved her work, especially how flawless she made my skin look!

Amazing. Sarah was extremely professional and accommodating during the scheduling process. The artists are ridiculously talented. LaDonna, Randi, and Kaia are beautiful people and made sure myself and my girls were gorgeous for my wedding. They were a delight to be around, calming when it got a bit hectic, and again....super talented. They basically walked in the morning of wearing capes. If you are trying to decide if L&L is worth the dollars or stuck trying to decide on which vendor to use, PLEASE STOP and schedule with L&L. You will not regret it.

I recently had my bridal preview with Sarah and Randi and of course was a bit nervous since I've never had my makeup done professionally, let alone my hair ever being done up nice. So once I got there I immediately felt so welcomed and it was like hanging with 2 of my best friends. They were really so sweet and would ask me if I'm okay with everything and wanted to make sure I was completely comfortable and that I loved everything. After Sarah finished my makeup I felt like a true pin up beauty queen! I mean I dabble a bit in makeup but I had NEVER seen my face so flawless and it lasted the rest of the day. I even took a nap later that evening and nothing budged! I had also came into it thinking I needed really long hair for the pinup do I wanted but I was really wanting to cut it. I kept throwing the idea back and forth so I decided to get their opinion they both said "Do it! Its will look amazing! " So Randi actually met me a few days later to help me make sure the hair stylist knew what we wanted to do and then afterwards Randi did a second hair trial with my new hair cut and it came out amazinggggg! It was the right way to go and they helped me so much with that decision! After that bridal preview it made me that much more excited about my wedding day ♡ These ladies rock and once my bridal party saw me, they were just as excited to get dolled up too. Best decision ever, am so glad I found these 2!

My best friend, a VERY big make up junkie to say the least, trusted Sarah and her staff for her wedding day - which is definitely saying something! Her team arrived promptly and were all very professional. I'm impressed that out hair and make up stayed fresh for 12+ hours. Everyone (6 members of the bridal party) looked fabulous and received many compliments. It was fun to be pampered by Lashes & Lace!

I am so glad that I chose to work with Lashes & Lace (and Sarah & Kaia!) for my wedding day make-up. Not only was Kaia a perfect fit for my wedding style and AMAZING at doing makeup, but she helped bring a sense of calm to my bridal room in the last few moments before I walked down the aisle . If you're trying to decide whether or not it is "worth it" to work with a professional make-up artist, just do it. The fact that I could rely on someone else's expertise on a day when I was pretty stressed out was amazing and helped me, my girls and my mom look fabulous on that important day.

La Donna's work was just perfect. I got the high resolution version wedding photos today and even zoomed in all the way, my skin looks flawless and so natural. I got so many compliments on my hair that I was wondering if people were noticing my dress and Jewelry at all. What was important to me was to have someone there on that day that would be able to adapt to last minute changes while giving me complete confidence in the final result. Bottom line, she will make you look flawless!

Working with Sarah and LaDonna at Lashes and Lace was an absolute joy! I seriously could not have asked for a better hair and makeup team for my wedding day. LaDonna was our selected artist for the day. She arrived on time to our hotel across town with all her needed equipment early in the morning. She acted happy and energetic to be with all of us. When each of the bridesmaids explained what they wanted for their hairstyles, she listened and took her time to make them all extremely happy. She timed all hairstyles and makeup applications perfectly so we could stay on schedule for the rest of the day. All bridesmaids’ hair, along with my makeup and hair stayed put for the entire day and through a long six-hour reception. LaDonna used high quality makeup and application techniques to last for hours. She was flexible and willing to make changes to my hairstyle and makeup when asked. Truly, I do not have anything negative to say about this company. If given the chance I absolutely would use Lashes and Lace again in the future! I am so thankful for Sarah and LaDonna’s hard work in making my wedding day so special!

I think that LaDonna did a lovely job with me as someone who does not wear make-up at all but wants to try something more bold. After leaving her studio, I had to run several errands and got a lot of compliments from random people on my eye-makeup. I originally didn't want my fiance to see either my make-up or my hair, but I felt so beautiful that I changed my mind and proudly wore it until night time. It looked exactly the same 11 hours later and I am so excited for my actual wedding day. She's amazing and you'll be in great and VERY skilled hands.

LaDonna was amazing to work with, she followed all the details I wanted and I was extremely happy with the finished look. She took time to talk me through each step to make sure I liked everything and was very knowledgable about the products used. My bridal portraits were perfect thanks to LaDonna. I can't wait for the wedding day!!!

Ladonna Stein of Lashes and Lace is hands down one of the best hair and makeup artists in the South. Everyone looked stunning. My makeup and hair held up all day and night and I received so many compliments.

I had a trial run for make-up & hair with Kaia & Amber. Both girls super talented. Kaia couldnt do my wedding make-up the day of my wedding, Amber stepped in & made wedding magic!! She made me look stunning. I felt beautiful. Everyone said what a great job she did. Amber is very detail oriented, which is nice. She was on time, honest, sweet, fun to talk with and had suggestions. I also had no clue what I wanted for a hairstyle. I did have some pictures which I showed her. She took little pieces from each hairstyle & walaaa the perfect up-do. I booked her for future events too. Everything was really great from the payment process to the booking. Her boss followed up with me & double confirmed before the wedding. It was a breeze they gained a customer for life!!

Sarah Downs, did our makeup and did an amazing job! She was able to work with us when someone fell off the line up and at the last minute exchanged for someone else. She did an absolute amazing job on mine and my bridesmaids and my mothers makeup! She took our visions and because of weather issues our trial makeup session wasn't able to happen, however Sarah took our ideas and ran with them and made us look absolutely beautiful!! She kept our makeup very tasteful and enough to make us look good, but not too much to where we weren't recognizable! I would recommend Sarah without a doubt, very sweet and amazing with makeup!!
