Serving the Savannah, GA and Asheville, NC area, Laura Cate Weyman is an experienced wedding photographer. Laura’s work is heavily inspired by her parents and her childhood. Her mother and father, both visual artists, founded Savannah’s Daedalus Gallery. They taught her that art should say something important, an ethos that still influences her work. Her family moved country a few times during her childhood. Laura was born in France, then moved to Costa Rica, before settling in Georgia. This exposure to different lifestyles has taught her the importance of variety and being open to new experiences. Laura is an intensely creative person and pursued a degree in journalism and creative writing at Georgia Southern University. She decided to enroll in photography classes in order to improve her journalism skills and this is where she discovered her passion for photography. Her skill for storytelling allows her to tell each couple’s love story through her images. She wants to learn more about people by taking portraits of them. Laura believes that candid, unposed images are the best way to do this. Photos by Laura Cate Weyman invite constant thought, remaining fresh and interesting no matter how much time has passed. She wants to capture the nature of all of your loved ones for you to look back on and remember fondly. Before the wedding, she is available for engagement sessions and bridal sessions.
