She was engaging, personable and truly genuine. Even after the contract was signed, Laura was always so responsive. You can tell she runs an organized business and is on top of everything. She makes you feel like a friend and not just a client. Day of, Laura was punctual, patient and so sweet. We had a small wedding of 40 people and I am pretty sure Laura knew them all by name. All of my guests complimented her as well. My husband and I did not have any particular poses in mind and we trusted her implicitly. Her cues were on point and she made us feel comfortable the entire time. As she was taking every picture, I kept thinking how I cannot wait to see all of them. I could tell then and there that they were going to be great! We got married on a Saturday and had over 30 preview pictures just three days later. Just as I expected, they were PERFECT. Laura captured every single detail. My best friend is getting married in 2020 and I am going to do everything in my power to have Laura there to shoot her wedding. My best friend and fiance are already on board! I cannot recommend Laura and her team enough.

We loved the photos we saw in Laura's portfolio before meeting with her, and talking with her just solidified our decision to pick her as our photographer on the big day. She described her style at work, which was non-intrusive and thoughtful, which we loved, particularly being in a wedding party full of nerds and introverts! On the wedding day, Laura was an absolute master at herding people around for photos, thinking up creative ideas for shots and angles, and working quickly and, again, thoughtfully as she kept our timeline in mind throughout the day. Our wedding was just over a week ago, and she sent us several previews just a few days after the wedding that had us in awe. My husband, who was perhaps the most camera-phobic of us all, had a huge smile on his face as he was going through the preview shots she sent us and commented on how great Laura was. After the wedding, I had a few guests comment to me on how impressed they were with Laura's "ninja-like" skills at the event -- she had a great sense of where to be and when, so she was able to capture so many great shots. We can't wait to see the full gallery when it's ready, and we highly recommend Laura if you're considering her as a photographer for her beautiful work, conscientious nature, and quick work on her feet! But once I started researching and talking to different photographers, I realized that: (1) even people with zero photography knowledge like me can see big differences between wedding photographers' finished product; and (2) it is just as important that your photographer create beautiful pictures as it is for them to have a positive and supportive, yet assertive, presence that will make you and your friends and family feel comfortable on a chaotic day while also making sure to get all the shots you want. Laura is all of these things and her photos are just incredible. Laura and her assistant at my wedding, Todd, were super professional and smart but also had the best attitudes ever. We were on a tight timeline, had very large wedding parties and families, and had a lot of different shots we really cared about getting. Laura was in control the whole time to basically herd cats for our posed shots, and she and Todd discretely moved around the ceremony and reception to get amazing candid shots of us and our guests in her beautiful and unique style. From distracting the kids to keep them from running to their parents taking posed pictures, to taking what has been unanimously dubbed the best picture ever of my husband's 95-year-old grandma (on the dance floor), Laura is just the best. our wedding-planning process. We loved Laura’s photojournalism style: from her portfolio, we saw that she’s great at capturing fleeting candid moments that encapsulate the joy of the day. We also loved how her photos were not heavily filtered. Her photos looked fresh and modern, yet paradoxically also timeless and classic. We knew we wanted to have Laura as our photographer, so we set up a meeting with her before booking our venue. Within ten seconds of meeting her, we knew she was the one. She was so warm, fun, friendly, and approachable, but still extremely professional. Some wedding vendors can make you feel like you’re just going down a factory production line with no personal interest, but Laura wasn't like that at all. She showed genuine interest in us and made us feel valued. We did an engagement shoot with Laura so that we could get to know her style better and get comfortable posing for photos together. We found a somewhat secluded area of Griffith Park that had a variety of backgrounds, and spent two hours there. Laura immediately put us at ease when we began the photo shoot. By the end, we realized that we had been laughing a lot and having fun. She very promptly gave us a couple of sneak-peek photos, and then sent the entire set of photos soon after. We were so thrilled with her photos! Laura then asked us to tell her our favorite photos to give her an idea of styles to focus on for the wedding day, which was a nice touch. Before the wedding, Laura gave us a very thoughtful questionnaire, which reaffirmed to us just how organized and professional she is. The questionnaire asked for a range of information, such as members of the wedding party, vendor names, a list of requested photos (e.g., high school friends, individual shots with parents, etc.), the wedding-day timeline, etc. In keeping with our entire experience with Laura up to that point, she came to the bridal getting-ready location on time and completely prepared (her assistant, Todd, did the same for the groomsmen). Seeing her again on the wedding day was like seeing an old friend rather than a vendor. She was so personable with everyone and got straight to work taking photos without being intrusive. At the wedding venue, she continued to be impossibly present at all places, capturing all moments, seeing all opportunities for an interesting angle or background. We felt completely relaxed with her, and from the first few sneak-peek photos we’ve seen, we are so confident that Laura Ford was the best photographer for our wedding. Since we aren’t planning on having another wedding, we’ll have to think of other events to hire Laura for, because we just love her and her work so much!

, caring, patient, persistent, a joy to work with, really really smart and resourceful – and did we mention she’s an amazing photographer? Every aspect of our experience with her was perfect. Rather than provide a run-through of the day, here are some highlights: 1) She understands the nuances of the event. For example, next to our chuppah, we had a table with photos of our late grandparents. In several key moments, she pulled out just enough to include them, without our having to mention it. 2) She finds tiny details that others don’t see – whether an alcove in a wall, a pattern in a carpet or a view of a guest through the flames of a fireplace – that elevate the photos to the level of art, while avoiding clichés. 3) She provided two assistants, one of which was her very talented sister, Sarah! Sarah used an actual non-digital film camera to give us variety (only after making sure we were okay with that). 4) She covers everything and everyone. Somehow, she managed to shoot all our guests, most with shots that totally captured their individual personalities. 5) Before the wedding, we told her we wanted to replicate several staged photos from the groom’s parents’ wedding album. She stored the original shots on her camera, grabbed us throughout the day and directed us into perfect replicas of all of them. She even found a dial telephone that happened to be at the venue, which she used to replicate a photo with a telephone in it! 6) We are not the most photogenic people in the world, yet she was able to take shot after shot that captured us at our best. As the bride, I was very nervous about how I would look in the pictures, but Laura and Sarah somehow captured my personality and I couldn't have been happier with the end result! 7) We discovered that wedding photography involves getting mushy in front of the camera – something we weren’t used to. She made us feel comfortable and got us beyond our camera-shyness, giving us many great smooching and nuzzling shots from which to choose. 8) She was totally collaborative, brainstorming with us and making sure to ask us what we wanted before the wedding, and executing it during the wedding. 9) Her photos just pop; the subject matter, composition, colors, lighting and focus all coming together to create images that capture the emotion of the day. 10) We could go on and on, but we’ll end with one final point. We’re sure there are many talented photographers out there, but what stood out about Laura was this: Rather than create a slick by-the-numbers record of a typical wedding, she intuitively grasped what made our wedding unique and captured it on film, giving us and our family and friends the opportunity to relive the actual experience over and over again. My husband and I are typically uncomfortable in front of the camera, but she helped us live in the moment and let our walls down—which made for much better photos (engagement and wedding)! From the moment I first contacted Laura, she made me feel totally at ease. There was a lot about our wedding that was up in the air -- we were only having 10 guests, and while we had a dinner spot booked, we were treating our ceremony as more of a guerrilla wedding type thing, since we didn't want to spend money on a venue when our ceremony would only take 10 minutes. Laura listened to our ideas and concerns, and answered all of the questions we had. She has an amazing "go-with-the-flow" attitude, while also being supportive of the decisions you want to make (and providing honest feedback and insight along the way). Her communication with us during the planning and execution of our wedding was fabulous -- she always responded promptly and thoroughly. On the day of our wedding, we had rain, trouble getting cabs, traffic etc...Laura remained positive and encouraging throughout. She is professional, but still friendly and fun to be around. She was adaptable, and thoughtful with regard the the photos she took. Our ceremony was maybe 5 minutes long, but she still managed to get a wonderful array of photos without us even realizing it. Because we only had 10 guests, I was worried that a photographer would be the odd-man out, and make it a little awkward. That was definitely NOT the case with Laura. She was respectful, kind and engaging with our guests, while also making sure plenty of photos were taken. She pretty much blended right in to our party, and we loved having her there. She has a really fun spirit about her. She also makes the process of taking the more "staged" photos easy and smooth. At no point did my husband and I ever feel awkward or uncomfortable -- we felt like we could truly be ourselves in our photos. Laura was also timely in editing and getting our photos to us after the wedding. She even posted a little sneak peak on her facebook page so we could see a photo, which I really appreciated. Many of our guests commented to us after the fact that she was a joy to be around, and that we "lucked-out" with such a good photographer. They all loved the photos she took. t I am very critical but I wanted all the details of the wedding to show our individuality and our own style. Most of my friends' wedding photos (hope nobody will be offended) were very similar and standard-same poses, ideas. Moreover, two months before the wedding I moved to LA and didn't have anyone to give me an advice. So I just started to search online. ​Tons of galleries were visited before I found Laura Ford. The first thing that I noticed was her use of light and tenderness of subject all combine to make some of the most breathtaking images I have ever seen. She doesn't follow always the rules of composition which add some fun and her own style to her photos. So when I saw her gallery I didn't have any doubts, I realized that this is what I had been looking for. I showed my husband and his eyes started to shine looking at her pictures.. ​We met this talented girl in a coffee shop in LA downtown. I feel people and understand if we can or can not work together very easily and Laura appeared to be a very open, friendly and easy-going person. After a couple of her questions, I understood that we have the same goal to make photos which will reflect our love and nature. ​The engagement photo shoot was included in our package. To me the result is the most important part. The photos from both our engagement and wedding were returned in an extremely timely manner and very high quality. But I also want to add how comfortable it was to work with Laura. She is such a sweet girl, very helpful, patient and understanding! At the end I had lots of requests about the pictures she published and sent to us and she did everything to make us happy. ​I hope my review will help you in such a difficult and very important decision!
