I first discovered Laura Segall Photography when I was a bridesmaid in a good friend's wedding. My friend proved to have exceptional tastes when it comes to wedding photographers. Laura has a lovely calm and confident presence, is at all times ...an utmost professional, and her photos never fail to capture the magic in a moment.
Five years later, I had my own wedding. As a bride in the initial stages of planning, I had no clue what I wanted our wedding to be like. I was lost looking at all the different vendors, except, thankfully, when it came to photography I knew exactly what I wanted. I wanted Laura.
The actual wedding day goes by in a blur, but you can relive the day again and again by looking back at wedding photos. So with that in mind, I knew Laura was my photographer of choice. I knew I could trust her to deliver beautiful wedding photos, both the real candid photos with raw emotions and the expertly posed traditional portraits as well, and to top it all off she's someone who is just a pleasure to be around (which, with the amount of anxiety I was feeling day of, was such a godsend!).
My wedding photos are STUNNING, absolutely stunning. The posed portrait photos are exquisite - they're swathed in gorgeous natural light and my husband and I look perfectly framed against the desert landscape. I am beyond ecstatic to have these gorgeous portraits. Laura is very, very talented and has a great eye for setting up shots AND she made my husband and I feel comfortable in front of a camera.
I love our posed portraits, but I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the candid photos.
Laura has an uncanny ability to capture special moments with you not even knowing she was there snapping away. In every photo, she's captured the true spirit and real emotion of a moment. Her photojournalistic style work is phenomenal. I look at a photo and it snaps me right back into the moment. I'm so grateful for these keepsakes.
Laura's work speaks for itself, so I'd like to touch a bit on how amazing she is as a person. In the hustle and bustle of getting ready on the big day one of my bridesmaid's thought she might be in the way of Laura taking a still life photo of my bridal jewelry. My bridesmaid said something to the effect, "Oh sorry, I'm in the way aren't I?" Laura's response didn't miss a beat, "No, how about this: You're never in the way" and she said those words with such kindness and sincerity.
My husband said he was really impressed with Laura's professionalism in a particular incident that happened later in the night. We got married at the Desert Botanical Garden and we were off with Laura in the Gardens taking some newlywed portraits. Unbeknownst to me in my oblivious newly wedded state of glow, a gentleman was a tad begrudged that we wanted to take photos in a certain spot with just a minute before the light faded. My husband said the man was making some snippy remarks under his breath about there being another wedding (I believe there were 3 in the gardens that night) and he didn't want to seem to move along. For a split second, my husband said he was afraid he'd have to intervene. He said, instead, Laura handled it swiftly and professionally. She was a cool cucumber, assertive and tactful and while he can't remember her words exactly, she got him to move along with a harrumphed "Congratulations''. All this transpired in a minute with me being none the wiser. She's the best.
Seriously, Laura is the best.
