I'm Lauren, a nationally published and award-winning fine art wedding photographer who provides timeless and artful imagery for couples and families in the Washington D.C. area and beyond.

ren for our wedding photography more than a year before our wedding. As a part of her wedding package, a complimentary engagement shoot was included. In the contract we signed, this complementary engagement shoot was listed as $0.00. We did the shoot, and got our photos back in a reasonable amount of time. We loved the photos and couldn't wait for the wedding.
Six weeks before our wedding, our wedding planner reached out to Lauren to begin to discuss the wedding day timeline and planning for the day. She didn't hear back from Lauren so she tried emailing again and again and calling multiple times and leaving voicemails. Still no response. Roughly two weeks out from the wedding, our planner asks us if we have heard anything from Lauren. We try texting and calling and emailing Lauren and get nothing back. Radio silence. LAUREN GHOSTED US BEFORE OUR WEDDING!!!!
With less than two weeks before our wedding we had to find and hire a completely new photographer whose work we had never seen and hope and pray she actually showed up on our wedding day. Not only this, but we had already paid Lauren 80% of our total contract amount, amounting to over $5,000. So we were already out that much money and had to hire another photographer on top of that, all while paying for our other wedding expenses.
The first time we heard a peep from Lauren was a few weeks after our wedding, after she received a message from our lawyer demanding she give us back the money we had already given her. Lauren claimed that she had health issues and that's why she ghosted us. However, if she really was so unwell that she couldn't send us a single text telling us what was going on, it is funny that she was somehow miraculously healed and well enough to email us once lawyers got involved. Not only this, but Lauren had the AUDACITY to ask if she could keep $1,000 from the money we had already paid her and not return it since she had done the COMPLIMENTARY $0.00 engagement shoot and "held our date" so she couldn't book additional clients on our wedding date.
This woman not only ghosted us before our wedding, made the weeks leading up to our wedding absolute hell, and added even more anxiety to an already stressful day by making us worry if our new photographer that we booked two weeks before our wedding would actually show up, but she also had the gall to request we pay her for a complimentary engagement shoot and pay her money for "holding" a wedding date she obviously had no intention of showing up to. To ruin a couple's wedding day like that is absolutely despicable and speaks to her true character. This wasn't some random party. This was our wedding, our once in a lifetime day, and she ruined it. Do not book her for any job or shoot, especially a wedding - SHE CANNOT BE TRUSTED!!! She does not honor her commitments and she tries to cheat people out of their hard-earned money.

For our engagement photos, Lauren spent a full morning with us so that we could get in sunrise Cherry blossom shots and photos inside the National Gallery of Art (a favorite DC spot of ours). She dedicated far more time and effort on this than just a hourlong portrait session, which had been my baseline expectation for an engagement shoot.
We appreciated Lauren’s thorough questionnaire and series of check-in calls in the weeks leading up to the wedding, which helped us understand our own photo priorities a bit better and made us feel like we were in very good hands leading up to the day.
Lauren was a joy to have with us on the wedding day. She kept us on time while at the same time making sure we were at ease and not rushed. She captured a perfect mix of candid shots of the party, our guests, little details we could have otherwise missed, and of course the stunning family, wedding party, and couples shots. She did a fantastic job of making sure all corners of our gorgeous venue were utilized and captured, and the way she framed the more posed shots is stunning.

During our engagement shoot, Lauren was very professional and efficient. She made us feel comfortable and at ease (trust me, I am the most awkward on camera) especially because it was 39 degrees at 7am in DC! were contemplating postponing our wedding. Our original photographer had canceled on us a month before our wedding, and we were struggling to find someone who was talented and available. By the grace of God, we were referred to Lauren we were able to book her less than a month before our wedding!
A couple weeks before my wedding day, Lauren stopped by to drop off a box for us. Inside of it was her own bridal magazine with helpful information, a sweet letter congratulating us, and a custom watercolor she had made for us, with a frame. It was such a kind gesture for her to drop this box of goodies for us, considering that she lives about 45 minutes from us. While she was in my neighborhood, she went exploring around to find somewhere with good lighting for where we could have the ceremony. Because she is an expert, she quickly found a beautiful field with nice trees as a backdrop. Thanks to her, we were able to have a gorgeous ceremony with great pictures.
While my elopement package was only about 3 hours total, Lauren took over 700 pictures during that time! She was so detail oriented and made all my homemade decorations look fancy. She delivered the entire package of edited photos exactly 1 week after we got married. Once we received them, it was so hard to chose our favorites. Lauren is SO talented, and is worth every penny. I could not have been more pleased with her as a person and her outstanding work. She made my day memorable and I am so happy to show my future kids our beautiful wedding pictures, all thanks to Lauren. Thank you so much!
