Lauren was absolutely amazing to work with! Her communication and organization were incredibly helpful throughout the entire process. From the engagement shoot to the wedding day, she made it a point to make sure she had captured all of the memories we wanted. I personally was nervous that I would be uncomfortable getting my photo taken, but Lauren was so kind and personable that within 5 minutes of meeting her I felt completely relaxed. Additionally, we loved all of our photos! I literally cried tears of joy when I opened the album and couldn’t stop saving every single image! I can’t recommend Lauren enough for capturing your wedding day, she is truly amazing!!!

When deciding what type of photography we wanted for our engagement and wedding, my husband and I were pretty clueless. All I said was that I wanted our pictures to just reflect our love and look like us. Enter Lauren, from Lauren Wood Photography, and all of the dreams we didn't know we had came true. Lauren is a true master at what she does, she makes you feel and look the most beautiful you've ever looked, while still capturing who you are and how you're feeling perfectly. Her pictures are timeless and gorgeously stunning! She really guided us throughout our engagement photoshoot and our wedding day and helped my husband and I not feel like awkward ducks doing poses that felt unnatural or not like ourselves. I couldn't tell you exactly how she does it except that to say she just made us feel so comfortable the entire time and gave us the space to be silly, and just enjoy ourselves. We couldn't recommend Lauren highly enough and I absolutely know we will be working with her for more family milestones in the future!

After a decade of being a wedding photographer and working with so many wonderful couples, I'm honored that I get to do this for a living every day. After getting a journalism degree from MSU, I worked in newspapers for nearly 8 years. Using my journalism background and creating storytelling images is extremely important to me in my wedding work.
My husband, son and dog reside in the Lansing area, where I love to spend time in my garden or baking sourdough bread when I'm not taking photos or editing.

but how wonderful Lauren was to work with! The entire process was seem less and meeting with her to go over plans beforehand helped make us feel even more comfortable working wither her. She has an amazing personality, is very professional, yet fun to keep things light and get those good candid photos! She went out of her way to help make things happen and really took everything we said into consideration. She was incredibly amazing at making sure we stayed on schedule even with multiple timing issues and delays outside of our control and got us back to the event by the time we wanted. To be honest, as a same-sex couple, we were a bit nervous about finding a photographer that would know how to pose us. Lauren had great suggestions and made sure we looked natural. Our photos turned out spectacular! We would recommend her a million times over!!

We were totally confident in her abilities and leadership throughout the big day which took the stress off of us and allowed us to enjoy every minute! And on top of that, her photos are absolutely gorgeous! Her editorial background gives her an eye for detail that helps capture the day beyond all of the "posed" looks. I love her rich use of color, and her black and white editing is some of the best I've seen in my opinion! Photography was one of my top priorities, and she met all of my expectations and more!
